I vote Gary as "Fundie most likely to accidentally summon a demon". At some point he may combine just the right group of spelling errors to summon something.

It would be like Annette and Todd, but less heartwarming.

OMG, I read the original Annette and Todd, but hadn't seen the last instalment.  Thanks for sharing the link to the whole thing!

Hilarious! ?

And then he'll drive around for 6 months grifting for the stuff to banish it with.

Would it be hanging out in the car with him, riding shotgun and commenting on all the tourist-y spots they should hit?  I think I would possibly pay to see that.

See, now I have this image of him strapping it to the roofrack of the bus in my head.......

Was it a felony or a misdemeanor?  Don't felons get parole and misdemeanors get probation?

I would not want to state someone had a felony if they did in fact not.

From the court records I have seen, sentencing is not always in line with mandatory minimums; most states have provisions for lesser sentences for first time offenders depending on how severe the judge perceives the offense, even for felonies. I have seen people do more time for smoking a joint than people convicted of child pornography or of spousal battery. In some states it is possible to have a first offense of rape expunged, but not a DUI.

It really is a system that disproportionately punishes the economically disadvantaged.

@AuntKrazy, does it count as 'negative' if I give your post an 'angry' vote?  Because I appreciate the information you gave us, and thanks for that, but I am just so fucking pissed off about the way the entire socio-economic system seems to be carefully designed to stiff working-class (and middle-class, and basically all non-rich) people.

@Spinosaurus

Go right ahead - I understand the anger completely.  There was a Dateline or something similar recently that did a report on The Bail Project - about the 600,000 people locked up because they can't afford to pay bail and efforts working on changing that (I recommend watching it if you have not seen it).

From what I have seen, those who have connections or family to afford bail and an attorney end up with things like ankle monitoring/probation, while those who are destitute are pushed into multi-count agreements for work or serving time.  It's very much a "whoever can pay goes free" system at times - and such injustice should make us angry.  It does not take very long looking at court cases to understand that white privilege and socio-economic privilege are very real things, and that white affluent male offenders are punished the least in our culture.

This is my opinion based on my observation only, but I'd like to see a study done/find one -  a female charged with a DUI is likely to end up with 3 to 5  (average of about 3) years of probation whereas a man will end up with 6 months to 3 years (average of about 1 year).  We know more about sentencing disparity with regard to race and economics, but it's with regard to gender as well.  I haven't had time yet to research to see if a good study has been done regarding this.

But, IMHO we need people to be angry and speak up.  It is shameful that our system currently works like this.  And silence won't change anything.

I notice the hood's already open on that truck. And it's a dually, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a diesel. How long before it craps out or he lets it run out of fuel this time?

And what happened to the previous dually truck he'd grifted? I knew the bus was broke down somewhere.

How do these people keep getting free cars and trucks? Are there really that many gullible fundies well off enough to be handing out extra vehicles to random grifters? I mean, I do technically own two cars at the moment, but one is not worth the parts that are in it, so we are slowly removing parts to repair other cars with. I could get it running, with some work, if I had to. But if I just wanted rid of it I'd call the kidney foundation or something, and get a receipt for my taxes. Or see if I could scrap it and make some money from the metal. I can see donating a car to a church program maybe, but just to a random preacher who travels around to whoever will listen long enough to feed him and or pass the offering plate? Not so much.

Also, is that a bullet hole in the back fender? Looks like it.

OK folks, I'm *pretty* sure that is the same truck and they just got a camper shell for it. That's what it looks like to me. Sounds like Jesus is in the business of giving out random camper shells. The good news is that if it rains on their road trip, the summoned demon can stay dry in the back of the truck now!

I'd like to know the story behind that.

'No, officer, no.  I wasn't around on Tuesday night, and that's definitely not my car.'

Maybe there's a reason someone wanted to give it to Bro Gary?

OK Folks Bro Gary has clarified things.  This is the truck he got 4 mos ago. The canopy is newly grifted. Why is the hood up?  He had lots of time to do repairs. Such a useless tool.

I hope whichever genius gave him the topper didn't buy it or have use for it.  Or that the Lord had good reason to not spend His spiritual energy on the needlessly suffering instead.  It probably won't fit Bro's next bucket of bolts once this one is determined to be beyond practical repair.  3..2..1..

I don't know if I'd be crediting a "gift" like that to the Lord. :pb_confused:  Looks more like something I'd pay to have hauled away.  Also, the inside is filthy.

Never heard of a camper shell being called a topper. Regional dialect I guess. We finally sold our old one earlier this year. Our old truck was black and the camper shell we bought used was white, so our truck always looked like a highway patrol vehicle. Funnily enough, our new (used, but not grifted) truck is also black, but the old camper shell didn't fit it. We were going to just buy one at some point but maybe I can put up a go to me fund to have some churchgoer just give us a free one.

As far as the bullet hole looking thing, it looks like the truck probably just got hit at some point, or backed into something. We bought our truck from a local rancher (it totally smelled like cows for the first few weeks, LOL). At some point over the years a worker mistook the gas for the brake and backed it into a concrete wall so the whole truck bed is broken and it doesn't have a bumper. We got it for a great price because of that. We paid $4,000 and it's still nicer than anything Bro Gary has had in the whole time I've been following him. We also know how to work on vee-hickles so we'll have it fixed up right pretty one day soon.

Ah, but it is a gift for the giver. If the vehicle is gifted to a 501C3 organization, like a church, the owner can get a tax deduction that will be quite a bit more than what they could get for selling it.  Sweet deal if the church gives you a receipt for what the blue books says is the value of that vehicle in pristine condition and it's actually a piece-o-crap that may only run long enough to get it out of the donor's driveway.

Apparently it is a 7.3 (diesel?). That (sic) a good motor.

Until you let it run out of gas.

It might be regional.  We had one and we called it a topper.  I always thought the term camper shell referred to the ones that could pop up to be a tent.

the LORD could be opening a door and adding something to our Ministry.

LORD GOD, please open an exit door and add either a mute button or an off switch to Bro Gary's Ministry.  Haymayun.

Just need Prayer for wisdom and guidance.

He could pray for wisdom until the end of time and I doubt it would help, but I'll give him some guidance (no need to bother the Lord):  Get a job, Gary.
