Maxwell 20: Fun just dies

At least, in the first broken-engagement announcement, they posted that “Elizabeth didn’t feel peace in her heart about marrying John.” Later, though, Stevehovah merrily chucked her under the bus in a few of his talks, claiming that her parents had “misrepresented” her.

How did they "misrepresent" her.

From the pictures, it looks like they went to a park that's 3 miles from their home. For an active adult, walking that distance shouldn't be a big deal.

Looking at their newest post, why do adults need protection on their phone or computer to either track where they have gone or completely block websites. How often do these people stumble onto porn? I am always on the internet and never accidentally viewed porn and I love looking up weird stuff/people I see on cable. What search terms are these people using? What’s the big deal if they go to wrong site? They should be immediately able to tell they are somewhere they don’t want to be and just close the page out. Teri gets the report and then gives it to Steve? Does he then review each website to determine if it is unholy?

Stevehovah never said. It ticked me off, because he was hinting that she was “damaged goods,” or somehow not good enough for his family.

The Maxwells are so set in their ways that even walking somewhere new is a huge deal. It isn't that they don't walk three miles, it is they walked three miles a new direction!

Same, but I'm sure that's because you and I are not holy enough to have Satan mercilessly targeting our searches, not any other reason like someone intentionally looking. :my_biggrin:

The app they are trying to sell, to me, sounds a lot like web browser history. Why can’t they just check someone’s web browser history after they get done on the computer? Also why don’t they trust their adult children? TAM posted something a while back about software that keeps people from going to certain sites. When she got flack about not trusting her husband she simply said it’s not a trust issue it’s a protection thing, paraphrasing of course. To me it’s a huge trust issue. If you don’t trust your adult kids/spouse then something is wrong.

This kind of software sounds a lot worse to me than a classic childproofing software where you simply can't access porn sites.

Now, internet is free-range but Teri and Steve get an email EVERY DAY with every single site that their adult children have been on. These adults can have NO secrets. They can't google "why does my butt crack itch" or look up a crush they once spotted at a bible conference without their parents knowing. It's the modern-day equivalent of having your parents read your diary.

They were always physically trapped in Maxhell but I think this new extent of KGB spying brings the control to another level.

Elizabeth was too damn smart to be buffaloed by the Maxwells.  Joseph seemed more intent on posing and showing off his manly self.  Thankfully, the Munke parents didn't persuade Elizabeth to go through with the wedding.

WTF???? The only internet history I ever "snooped" on was my kids...and that was easy because they were too dumb to erase their history! I don't give a shit what my husband looks at, mostly because the way he sits I can look over his shoulder. He doesn't give a shit what I look at either...

Stevehovah has ISSUES!!!

The only reason I would want to know what "questionable" websites Mr. Nomoxian has been on is so I can look at them too :D

I track my husband randomly on the "friend" finder on his iPhone, but I do it mostly because he is a semi-Luddite and it freaks him out when I call and ask him why he is across town. It's annoys him and cracks me up no end, so win-win for me!

First time (I think) poster, pathetically longtime lurker.  After all these years of reading here, the latest Maxwell blog finally brought me out of lurkdom.  Reading that grown adults, including one rapidly approaching middle age, have to have their internet usage monitored by their Mom is one of the saddest things I've ever read.  Of everything I've read here and on their blog, this is the one that really brings it home for me what kind of life these kidults have.  That a 36 yr old woman who's never done anything wrong or ever given anyone a reason to think she MIGHT do something wrong, still cannot be trusted with the internet. JFC.

In happier news, now that I've finally posted, you won't be able to shut me up.  Oh, the things I have to say about JRod/Duggars/Bates/Nauglers/etc!!

To them, looking at a Lands End bathing suit ad is equivalent to looking at porn. But they're all adults. If Jesse wants to get off on a swim suit model-- or if he wants to find some actual porn-- that's his own business. As long as it's not child porn, he should be able to do whatever he wants with his own electronic devices. The same goes for Mary, Anna, and especially Sarah.

And if the parents aren’t okay with it then let their adult children move out. What parent wants a 35 year old, who they are supporting, living at home?

Oooh, maybe she had held hands with a guy before! Giving away those heart pieces...

I'm sure it's really that she found out more about them, realized what kind of life she'd have, and noped right on out of there.

Well, you’re half right with the Arndts; the 30-somethings are living at home and supporting Dad.

New post up.  The annual mulch GiGi's yard project.

I'm going to guess Chelsy is not pregnant at this time as she is pictured on hands and knees helping with the mulch, although I'm sure that doesn't necessarily rule it out either.

One forgets the kind of compound they were starting to build until John and Joe bought homes a daring 0.6 mile away from it.

Jesse’s—er, Gigi’s home looks pretty rambling, in contrast to the split foyers that line the street. And then the House next door with pergola evidently belongs to some Maxwell or other.

We know Nate & Mel live allllllllll the way across the street from the Fathership (remember when Teri led the crew in crying all Nate & Mel’s wedding night at her son moving away [sic]),

and that Chris & Original Anna (“Original Anna” because HER father didn’t have to get himself reversed to beget her! So there, Steve & his scrotum!) — migosh I am wordy today! —

anyway Chris & O-Anna live around the corner.

So with the F-ship & Gigi’s, there are 4 Maxproperties right at that one intersection. Then 2 others, half-mile away, accessible in no time at all for these mountain trekkers I’m sure. I wonder if the half-miles to Joe’s & to John’s are in the same direction.

Okay! That’s enough thinking about this fami-cult for today!

Joseph lives 3 streets west of the Headship. The distance would be even shorter if the street went through and connected both roads.

John is still registered as living with Stevehova.

Completely agree, I can't imagine at 25 now having my parents follow every single thing I google search, let alone when I am near 40! Since I'm sure the Maxwells and other families have blocked key words like "ass" or other body parts, do you think they also block words like "atheist" and "agnostic" to keep their children from looking those up?
