Not sure where you live outside of the strip but last time hubby and I went to Vegas we ate at "Stacks and yolks" .  Super yummy.   Ever been?

Which one? I'm currently near Sahara and Rainbow. The only Stacks and Yolks I know of is on Cheyenne and Rainbow near where we used to live. I've lived in Mountains Edge, North LV and now stuck in ghetto hell. We're looking at houses back up in NLV. There's a new development going in way up at the end of Decatur and the north side of the 215. It all depends on whether or not I'm willing to give in on a pool.

Next time you come out this way, drop me a PM. I'd love to meet up!

I think it was this one.  I didn't kmow there was more.  It looked like that inside and was yellow outside.  It was delicious inside too!  We stayed at the Red Rock.  Went to the Red Rocks for an awesome 13 mile drive, getting out here and there.  Went to a pot shop.  Won $1000 on a poker machine.  Spent about $60-70 of it at a good bakery at the hotel.  Damn good time.  Want to go again, who knows when.  I'll let you know!

Eta:  bought goodies at said shop.  Hence all the little cakes eaten.  I don't like being drunk so, edibles and few drinks plus Vegas stuff is my thang. :D

Eta: Um, forgot the picture.   Duh.

yeah, that's the one...it's not on Rainbow, it's Jones and Cheyenne. Red Rocks isn't very far from there. I think there's one on Sahara too. Next time you come out here, you have to try Big Bear Diner. OH MY GOD! Good home-style food at reasonable prices for HUGE portions. Their chicken fried steak is to DIE for. Macayo's Mexican restaurant is good too (go to the one on Sahara not the one on Charleston). Trying to decide on a restaurant here is hard as hell. I've heard the new Palms buffet is really good too. I think we're going to try that soon. The buffet at Aliante is really good. I've heard Texas Station is good.

You'll have to go up to Mount Charleston too. God it's gorgeous! It's a nice place to go to escape the heat in the valley in the summer.

We're hoping to be in our house by the end of the year so we'll happily be able to entertain. So if y'all come out please let us know! I love showing folks that there's more to LV than the strip.

Coincidentally, I just got an FJ ad for a casino that looks like a lot of fun, even though I’m not a casino type person. Normally, I wouldn’t even notice an ad, but I’ve been paying attention to FJ ads out of curiosity, and I’m pleasantly surprised. I’m actually kind of enjoying the ads. Am I alone on this?

I keep getting sex offender alert ads, card I can't afford, and wedding dresses. I'd rather get casino ads lol but my main complaint is that sometimes they cover what I'm looking at and the only way to get rid of it is to refresh the page.

@Daisy0322 I got ones for missing teeth, lol. I have great teeth. Nothing missing over here. I usually get travel ads and clothes, both relevant. I do travel and shop a lot. Sometimes, the ads drop down on my phone from the top and cover my notifications tab, so I can see I have notifications, but can’t touch to see the drop down list.

My husband races or practice races around there and got to know some spots!  Next time I'm trying that diner. Chicken fried steak is heaven ehen done right!  Even semi crappy chicken fried steak is good!  Thanks for more fun ideas.  When we were younger, Vegas was party, gamble , sleep in, rinse and repeat.  But, now we want to do other stuff and gamble at night.

I keep getting "choose life!" ad types and Focus on the Family... Ugh!

There was a time where FJ kept advertising mail order brides for me.  There was a particular emphasis on them being "Victorian" and "real ladies".  That's how I knew I needed to spend less time in the Lady Lydia and Lori Alexander threads.

Recently I kept getting divorce lawyers FOR MEN ads.  I am a woman, advertising algorithm, though I do understand your belief that I am in need of a divorce if you believe I am married to any of the people we snark on here.

Right now I am being encouraged to link a credit card to my Paypal account.  How sinful!  Encouraging debt on a DUGGAR thread?!?  I am clutching my pearls.

My current ads are for rental cars (yes, we travel a lot), and petite-sized clothing. Um. I'm 5'7"... lol

Why do they have to put "enjoy" in all their video titles?  If we watch the video, it should be pretty clear whether you're enjoying it or not!  It just feels so forced and awkward.  "The Dillards' Trip to Pike's Peak" or "Izzy and Sam playing at Focus on the Family" are much better titles, IMO.

If you always look so miserable that you have to specifically call out that you are "enjoying" it, are you REALLY enjoying it?

I will answer your most likely rhetorical question. My guess, no. I think she is really trying to convince herself more than anyone else. I think this is called self deception.

That poor kid! I just want to borrow him and give him some Monkey With a Tool Belt books, Will Hillenbrand books, Keiko Kasza books, and others that the three year old I know loves. There are so many great kids books out there, I hate for him to think that all children's books are heavy handed and moralistic.

Yes, I'm all for giving kids books that have morals but not to that extreme. Isreal should also be allowed to read other children's books too, though I am glad she is at least reading to him.

Black Bear is on the corner of Durango and Sahara. It's AMAZING!!! Never really crowded either. https://blackbeardiner.com/

http://www.macayo.com/  https://www.aliantegaming.com/dine/casual-dining/medley-buffet (get the card, its free and worth the discounts)

The truth is you could hit a different restaurant every night and I think it'd take about 5 years to get through them all.

It makes me sad how they are using their children, especially sweet little Israel, to blatantly advertise things.

I know, holding a boring book and force-smiling for the camera is probably not the worst part of Izzy's childhood, but it just seems representative of how the Dillards see their kids. Tools for an end - populate the world for Jesus, convert heathens and liberals, enforce oppressive hateful beliefs that cause harm and pain, grift money - but not little people whom they should love and cherish and guide through the world with wonder, excitement and joy.

Derrick keeps retweeting support for a group of middle age men who are going into schools to hand out 'In God We Trust' posters. Why does he care? His family doesn't believe in public school and his kids will never go there. He was always very critical of anthem protests, well this seems pretty civil disobedience-y to me.
