Holy crap. I know exactly where they are thinking of moving. My hunch was right. Franklin, TN. I can even show a picture of the house Lori wants IF they have to move. That is EXACTLY where Above Rubies, Nancy Campbell, and "Meat for Men" is located. It's a suburb of Nashville. OMG. She is going whole hog on the fundie.

He was. I can't answer how I know. Sorry. Wouldn't make it up.

NOOOOOOOOO-uh! Not Franklin, TN. That is close to our daughter and an area we would consider if our dreams come true and USMCDAD can get a job in that area.

CRAP!

I just caught this screen grab from an hour ago.

5a5425d66f318_ScreenShot2018-01-08at6_09_39PM.png.86f4a63d264c44ff8b331aa4ce817049.png

This is exactly why Lori should never, ever post on anything medical.  This woman's 18 month old daughter had a 106 temp for two hours and she did nothing about it despite the danger. So, here we have Lori correcting/editing her posts all afternoon to indicate she's changed her mind about when to contact the doctor because so many people told her she was wrong.

So, who do you think gave this the thumbs up??!  Lori.

Shut the fuck up you ignorant, mean-spirited twat!

A suction  assisted delivery almost always messes up a baby's suck.  My oldest grandchild was born by c-section, but that didn't spare her from being Hoovered out of her mommy.  She had the worst suck.  An IBCLC friend of mine recommended that she have craniosacral therapy (CST) which I tend to think is a crock in adults but maybe not total BS in babies as their cranial bones are not fused.  Dear granddaughter did seem to be helped by the sessions of CST.

Lori mentioned that asshole and douchecanoe extrordinaire, Dr Robert Mendelsohn.  If you look in the dictionary under "Quack", you'll see his picture.  Mendelsohn was anti-vax before it was a thing, he thought you should definitely birth at home (he said "do you want your baby to die?"), he was anti-contraception and felt that if you developed breast cancer, then you shouldn't treat it.  It was gonna kill you or it wasn't and all the treatment in the world wouldn't make a tinker's damn bit of difference.  He also said that if his wife got breast cancer, that she'd have the surgery and chemo/radiation.

It's incredibly difficult for me to read the Lori threads, because...well...

*whispers* we share a name :my_confused:

...and when y'all start yelling about how "Lori should go fuck herself!" it breaks my heart a little. I need to tell you that not all Loris are assholes. :pb_lol:

#notallLoris

That being said, I naturally also have difficulties reading about her exploits because she is JUST SO TERRIBLE and yes, she really should go fuck herself.

My nephew (who I helped raise) had febrile seizures when he was little. We had to do everything possible to bring down any fever before it hit about 100.5 or he would go into a seizure.  His pediatrician did not seem to think it was harmless or something we should let happen. I had a few scary times with him but managed to always keep the fevers down and never witnessed one myself.

As for strep, it is absolutely dangerous and needs to be treated. One risk is PANDAS. Our neighbor's child got it and it changed his entire personality and caused him to lose nearly a year of school.  Link: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/pandas/index.shtml

Lori would get eaten alive by southern women who don't take shit from nobody. I guess she thinks we are all good Southern belle submissive housewives.

I've heard about PANDAS recently. I didn't know it existed until last week but it does seems serious and probably scary for the kid who doesn't understand. It looks like people could probably easily mistake it for other behavioral issues. But it's one of the reasons we shouldn't just not go to the doctors when a child has strep.

Franklin is right next to Brentwood, which is Gwen Shamblin's stomping ground if I remember correctly.  There is a Whole Foods type store (I think it might be Sprouts or something like that) in Franklin, and there are a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's in Nashville that she'd have to drive a bit to reach.

Franklin is a nice little town and I'd hate to see a vile couple like Lori and Ken move there and ruin it for me and others.

Reading all this made me realize just how poorly put together Facebook's reporting system is.... It would be nice if they allowed us to type in a custom complaint.

That is a pretty house. It'd be a real shame if someone swooped in and bought it out from under her. Heh.

Actually, we want something MUCH smaller because, as someone just commented, that is a lot of space for empty nesters. It's also a lot of money.   Maybe they are planning to have Ryan's family move in with them.  Nothing would put a spring in Lori's step like having three kids to beat again.

I wonder if Ken thinks they can sell their California home and purchase this one, leaving them without a mortgage. That is assuming their house is paid off - or nearly so.

I can just see Lori's blog entries if she moves. It will be one big bitch fest in how much she hates the area, the people, the weather. She really does not want to insult the state of Tennessee; its citizens are very proud and protective of their home.

Our (now former) neighbor had ignored his sore throat. So it was untreated. When these behaviors started, she attributed it to other things first. But the onset was sudden and it escalated quickly as well. The school psychologist got her to finally take him to the doctor for a full check up prior to referring for other services. They ended up sending him to several different specialists before they got the diagnosis based on the antibodies. As I understand it, treating strep doesn't guarantee avoiding PANDAS, but not treating it is thought to increase the odds.

I used to have a college student who'd had PANDAS. If you look at a list of signs and symptoms, she had almost all of them--severely. PANDAS permanently changed her, all because of strep.

Lori's advice damages people's lives. It's bad enough to see people making idiotic decisions that affect their own families. (JRod, I'm looking at you.) What Lori does is irresponsible and reprehensible.

My cousin had it. They thought it was Tourette's, then autism, then PDD-NOS, then all sorts of things, and finally they figured out what was wrong. It totally changed her personality. I remember that she was so bubbly as a little kid, and all of a sudden, she became a different person. She's 18 now. I think that on top of the changes that came with PANDAS, she has depression, but my uncle (her dad) doesn't really seem to understand that she really should be in therapy, and should have been in therapy a long time ago. He's the sort of guy who thinks that if you're functioning on a day-to-day basis (she's in college and does pretty well academically), you're just dandy. I really feel for her; we're not close and my parents don't get along terribly well with my uncle, so there's not much I can really do, but her parents really fucked up by not getting her proper interventions.

Damn, all that space for 2 people.

Jesus tits, that's twice as much space as I have, and I have twice the number of people!

You're right about the spring in her step, but she won't allow her kids to move back in with her. She advises women with daughters in horrible, no account marriages and no education to speak of due to homeschooling not to allow daughters to return home. Don't you know those men won't be sanctified without their long-suffering wives. Leave and cleave, baby!

One of the fangirls inquired "The house is beautiful, but have you considered downsizing for lower utility bills, cheaper insurance, less taxes?"

Lorbags was aghast anyone would question her: "What house are you talking about? Do you even know the size of the home? I'm a bit puzzled by your question."

The lady apologized and said she was "very sorry I offended you." Everyday her fangirls are sorry they offend her. She bites their heads off for any questions.

Then Lorbags explained the house was very inexpensive. OMG.

@nastyhobbitses love your username by the way. Anyways that makes me sad to hear that. I thinking people don't always understand that surviving does not always equal thriving. A person with depression might be functional but it doesn't mean they are experiencing life as they could be. I wonder if her college has free counseling. I've done a practicum at a college and the counseling I did was free of charge for the students. I hope some day she'll be able to get the help she needs. It's great that you seem to care for her even if your family isn't close.

Maybe Lori is too dumb to know that all of that information is available on the listing.

It really is beyond crass that she would even post that link when her worshippers can barely put food on the table. She expects them to live like paupers while she flaunts the half-million dollar home she wants to buy.

I also wonder what Ken thinks of her sharing this information online like this. Polite people don't disclose how much they pay for major things like homes and cars. Polite people don't gloat about their own wealth. Those proper Southern women are going to eat her alive. The first time she monitors someone's food at lunch; or the first time she asks a woman how much she paid for her shoes, she's not going to know what hit her.

"Sweetie; you're not livin' in Hollywood anymore. Here in the South, we value manners."

Totes not white-knighting but she didn't post the link. It was a picture but without the link. She still definitely underestimates that readers could look at that picture and not assume it's a big house that would cost a bundle!! She has readers who live in singlewides with five kids and sometimes no money for heat or water.

My teens were diagnosed with scarlet fever today. They had an itchy rash but no other symptoms and didn't know any-one who was infected.

The pharmacist thought it could be allergies or bedbugs. But I decided to go to the drop in clinic just to be safe. They now have a 10 day course of anti-biotics  and I have an Rx just in case.

I'm glad I used my Mummy-Senses to double check rather than take the first expert opinion that I sought.
