The following is in today's New York Times, about pastors who intend to defy the IRS rule on tax-exempt churches from engaging in political campaigning:

For some fundy churches Pulpit Freedom Sunday is no different than any other Sunday.

IMO, the IRS should go after any church that preaches politics.

Tax them, just think of all the money government could make. I just got done reading Frank Scaeffer's book "Sex, Mom and God" very interesting. He was a fundie, his father started Focus on the Family or one of those group. Fundie want to take the country back to the 1950 and be ruled by Christian law.

Fine. They should have all the freedom they want to push any candidate they want - just as soon as they give up their tax exempt status. Otherwise, taxpaying Americans are pretty much subsidizing their political activism.

I think it's a clear choice. Have they never heard of "you can't have your cake and eat it, too"?
