The first lady was no doubt genuine in her four-minute speech, when she spoke about the need to focus on the problem of bullying and the “pitfalls” of social media. She spoke of reducing “bullying through kindness and open communication.”

But the best thing she could do for the cause would be to lead by example — specifically, to use her considerable influence to get her husband to take it down a notch.

Two things:

1) There is no doubt that Melania was disingenuous, no doubt at all.

2) Honestly, does anybody really believe she has any influence at all on her husband?

Well I could see her telling him to leave her alone and go boink some porn stars.

LOL, that would be fun, since it's a slow news day and all the channels are looking for things to report.

Louboutins for gardening???

The QAnon folks drank a few bleach cocktails and decided that when a celebrity wears red shoes, it means that person is a pedophile. Since Melania is publicly wearing shoes with red soles, they'll have to come up with some new nuttery.

Edit: Holy hell, she's showing her arms again!

I keep thinking about Stormy's description of her sad night minute with Trump. I guess we should be grateful that Trump hasn't forced Melania to come out and attempt to refute Stormy's claims with enough TMI to scar us for life.

Rufus has surely blessed us in that regard.

I laugh because there are sandy hook parents that can't visit their children's graves without getting harassed and stalked. Dr. Baesly Ford still can't go home for the same reasons, but okay Malaria. Her and her husband deserve one another.

Would that be her husband who is doing the bullying?  This reeks of orange shit stain with the “most in the world “ remark

She may want to check her definition of the word...

And just as an aside: Here's a case of "Who wore it better" :pb_razz:

Or is that bullying...

"I'm a mother and a first lady, and I have much more important things to think about and to do," Trump said in a clip of an interview set to air Friday on "Good Morning America," when she was asked whether President Donald Trump's alleged infidelities have put a strain on their marriage.

Nothing about being a wife.  Nothing.

A few things to remember about Melania.  First, she knowingly married Donald Trump.  Not sure how long they "dated" before she married him; she wasn't some naive Marla with stars in her eyes.  She is 48 or 49 now, so married Trump in her mid 30s.  Second, she's led an insulated life of astounding privilege as the wife of a wealthy and powerful man.  She is well aware of the damn trade offs.  Why would we be surprised if her world view is parallel to Trump?

I would be very, very surprised if they haven't been at the "I'll overlook the porn stars and smile for the cameras if you keep the money flowing and don't try to take my kid" part of their relationship for years and years now. It's cheaper for him to keep her happy and pay off the other women than to go through a big messy divorce with a child involved.

I gotta say, I really liked her outfits for the Africa trip, as a style. They were absolutely inappropriate for a first lady to wear on that trip, and looked more like cosplay than anything, but I thought they were pretty cute. If, you know, she'd been doing a photoshoot or something, and not representing the US as first lady.

I get the impression that she does a lot of "dressing the part" of first lady (Zara jacket excepted) - the Jackie Kennedy style at the inauguration, etc.  She's not from the US, she got thrown into this unexpectedly, and she's a model. She knows clothes. So she uses that - "Jackie Kennedy was considered a stylish first lady, so I'll dress like her for the inauguration." "Hmm, look at those old photos of various presidents and people visiting Africa... OK, I need some knee high brown boots and a pith helmet."

She deserves what she gets, for supporting her orange toddler husband, but I can kind of see why she's floundering a bit.
