Or Secretary of State, since he's such a diplomat.

Director of Communications since he's such a great conversationalist.

I agree with Sarah about tomorrow (partially).  I don't plan on anything coming between me exercising my right to vote (in the Democratic Primary).

I would pay so much money to watch Steve have to be a diplomat. Or have him go to a foreign country that isn't Canada.

Ted Cruz reminds me of the alien from Men In Black who disguises himself in his victim's skin, but just can't quite get the whole acting like a human thing right.

My favourite quote about him is from this article:

"With almost infinite resources, the closest they’ve got to producing a popular candidate is Ted Cruz: a cross between a permanently disappointed sitcom vampire and the high school yearbook photo of every serial killer of the modern era."

I'd much rather watch him go to a country where people like to have fun and don't live by super-rigid schedules.

New post up. Ted Cruz supports homeschooling.

Do they really think other candidates don't?? I really don't think the POTUS would give a flying fuck.

Also, fuck me the American process is complicated. Give me the British process any day! None of this faffing around choosing a nominee. One month of official campaigning. The leader of the party is the candidate. Country has 650 MPs, representing 650 constituencies. Each person votes for their MP. If a candidate (for PM) wins a majority of 326+ MPs, they win. If you win the most MPs but fall short of a majority, you get a hung parliament and a likely coalition, as in what happened in 2010. But what do I know. Britain isn't a federal state with 300 million plus people.

Anywhere in Latin America or the Caribbean would be hilarious. I also wonder what he'd make of Singapore. Their government is very rigid with lots of micromanage-y laws (no chewing gum, for instance) and the people are often workaholics, but every Singaporean I've known likes to let loose, and the sort of food they eat is a far cry from the gray and bland bean burritos Steve adores. I'd love to watch him eat Jamaican jerk chicken or char kuey tiaow from a Singaporean hawker stall (I've been to Malaysia, which has similar cuisine to Singapore, and Priscilla Waller's blog post where she pooh-poohed Malaysian and Singaporean food made me so mad).

Canadian here! I'm with you fandango.  General (federal) election - about 6 weeks of campaigning! That's it! If you haven't got your point across by then, we don't want to hear you.

With his penchant for proselytizing, he'd end up in prison so fast it'd make his head spin. 15 years hard labor, at a minimum.

I can see Bernie Sanders wanting to require some level of accountability for homeschoolers. Like, by the time they reach high school they should understand the difference between a democratic socialist and a communist.

Yeah, I get that. I meant more that I don't think America is gonna pull a Germany and make homeschooling illegal.

Well if we actually DID get Ted Cruz for President he might invent a new cabinet post, Secretary of Religious Freedom.  Secretary Stevehovah would could make all sorts of insane pronouncements like, "This country needs to turn off its TVs and start cleaning the ceiling fans. We have allowed Satan into our hearts and only with clean ceiling fans will we blow him out.  Also from now on all women everywhere will have the option to wear long skirts on the job-- no matter what they are doing-- because Jesus will only be happy when all women are wearing skirts. My department is going to start issuing Church-goer cards and anybody who wants one will have to demonstrate that they attend church faithfully.  It is up to individual businesses whether they want to provide goods and services to people without cards. Finally, I am going to be leading a National prayer service each day at 6:00 a.m. The President and his cabinet will be attending every morning.  If you would like to listen in we will be live streaming from the Oval Office.  Come pray with us!"

WTF, Miss Pris? Those are two of the three best foodie locations in the world! (Taipei being the third)

But only for men.  Though they must ensure their families attend, of course.

When Fundies say that someone "supports homeschooling", what they mean is "supports largely unregulated homeschooling that doesn't require parents to PROVE that they are actually educating their child".  Remember: the lower their reading level is, the less likely they are to realize the Moody books are garbage!

Did anybody click on the link in the latest Cruz post? Something about homeschooling? I don't want to click and drive more traffic that way....

I know, right? The majority of my trip to Malaysia was just an orgy of amazing food (laksa, mee goreng, nasi ayam, char kuey tiaow, roti, tandoori chicken, chicken in banana leaf....I want to go back so bad just for the food). I'm so sad I didn't have time to go to Taipei. I don't get why anyone would hate on such amazing food.
