Pope Francis is actually a cool guy who incrementally trying to bring Catholicism into the 21st century.

I have no use for hypocrites who slam things all over the internet and still make use of said things as if nothing has happened.

I have no use for either. Note the Pope is set to release a document on whether divorced Catholics should be allowed communion.

The brother of my aunt's Best friend is a priest in Buenos Aires. He left it to get married, but later divorced. The pope personally allowed him to become a priest again. And Apparently he is a wonderful person.

Francesco seems to be a truly good person, but his church is still a rotting mess that is trying to use his growing popularity to gain political power. In this moment in our Senate the Parliamentarians are debating whether to legally recognise the possibility for gay couples to get married. At the beginning the Catholics were contrary to it on the ideological (that they consider factual) basis that marriage is only between a man and a woman full stop. Now, after some polling and some failed rallies, they have understood that Italians simply don't give a shit about other people's private lives. So, since in Italy only married couples can adopt and if full matrimonial rights were recognised to gay couples they would also have the right to adopt children, they are spinning their opposition as the ultimate defence of those poor poor children who must have the right to a mother and a father (and not be trainted by those bad gayz). They also want not only to outlaw surrogacy, but also make it a crime that can be prosecuted here even if it happens abroad. IVF with donor's eggs or sperm is banned so those evil lesbians can't have the precious children. Finally, should pass a law that consents gay marriages (probably in the form of civil partnerships at this point), they want to legiferate that a gay person can't adopt in general, moreover he/she can't adopt the child of his/her partner as is common for hetero couples. So, yes the RCC  is still a meddling,  hypocritical and bigoted power in the political scenery of this country, in spite of a seemingly better pontiff. Even though,  compared to Trump, even Catholics make more sense.
