I used to have a bookmark for a giant thread at a board named something like KC Talk about this guy and his family and the church and all sorts of shenanigans.  I believe one rumor is that his son was bounced out of Liberty U.   FFC employed him, his wife, his kids, their spouses.  There was a mess of a school at one point.  He was a huge name dropper and rumor has it his father is the person who really wrote the sermons.

I live not far from their old church, now owned by Blue Valley schools and wholly remodeled.   I drive by it every day.  One of the offsprig was involved with a church on th the MO side for a while..

Meanwhile Church of The Resurrection is building a ginormous new sactuary and i have heard a mega church from OK is coming in on 135th in OP

COR has a building out on 470 (or 70) that I pass when I come into the area and one hidden over off of K10 and K7 out in Olathe.  And of course COR is building more more more.  Aren't they the ones that discovered the beauty of funding church stuff via real estate ventures there along 135th or so?  

Hmmmmm OK mega church - wonder if that is Life Church (which only pops into mind because the extended family that is into dealing EO's these days goes there and lives on OK).

There were also photos of when the interns went to a fencing class (excellent opportunity for posing!) and another occasion when JT was dressed up and looked like Jack Sparrow. It's a shame that the VF blog is gone.

So who are the kind of people that do not scream and hide (or at least have an unpleasant sensation travel down their spine) when they see the Joel Osteen book covers? It always struck me as extraordinary one would be able to tolerate that on their bookshelves. And that is without even knowing what he writes. What if he peals himself off the cover at night and those teeth flash before you in your dreams and go 'your best life now.....your best life now.....'

That is Joel Osteen.  Please wipe the smug look off his face.  He's a TV preacher/author/etc of the name it and claim it variety.  Everything sounds sooooooooooo good, soooooooooooo sweet.  (my viewing of him is from sitting in my mother's living room before I put her in a facility and random surf-by's when I use him for inspiration for a character I have in a novel).  I can see how people are sucked in.

Once upon a time i subcsribed to a little magazine called Success, which was just a cheerful you can do it magazine.  I even bought subscriptions for my Jr high aged nephews.  Then in quick succession the magazine featured Joel Olsteen and Kim Kardashian.  That was the end of that ....he inherited his mega  church from his dad and met his wife in a jewelry store (maybe, nt sure) and per the magazine Kim got her start in fashion by sell8ng on ebay.....nary a mention of the sex tape that launched her....  insert eye roll here.  Eta. Apparently Joel was geatured again lately as the most successful minister on the planet or some such....i didn't read it.
