Godinterest--because pinterest is for heathens

What are these "godly" people searching for if they're finding offensive stuff on Pinterest? I'm pretty sure that if I search for kids party ideas, that is one site where porn will not show up.

See, that's just it! I search for things like genealogy, archaeology, abandoned buildings (weird, I know, but I love them!), vintage Pyrex, things from my childhood, etc. Nothing a fundie wouldn't approve of has ever shown up (except of course for the odd shirtless pic of the aforementioned Richard Armitage  And I'd hardly call that porn!).

These people are clearly looking for the 'bad' stuff on purpose. :naughty:

I use Pinterest a lot too--for party planning and good seasonal desktop photos mostly. I have had a few "inappropriate" pictures come up. Nothing that shocked me, but there are some spammers on there with photos of topless women tagged with tons and tons of keywords.

I actually read a blog by a very sheltered fundie girl in South Carolina who wrote of quitting her Pinterest account because even while she was searching for "good, wholesome" pins, unclean things would come up and she worried about them lodging in her mind. I'm assuming she meant scantily dressed women, couples posed in sexual situations, and the swear words that are common on the e-cards.

But I agree, it's a childish attitude to have towards being Christian.

I read thread titles here and think that they are sarcastic or exaggerated and then I click them and realize these idiots really did rip off Pintrest, font and all (won't even touch the "thy shall not steal"), to create a more Godly, family friendly site. WTF? If they are that worried about online evils why not replace the monitor with a cork board and be done with it?

I still don't have a "thank" button. :(

Not safe and family-friendly? Well... http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/ ... 500d46.jpg :wink-kitty: I have a board of hundreds of pics that show more than this. When I start pinning more pics, my grandmother, among other relatives, well, they're seeing my taste in men. :D I might have the largest nearly-naked (and naked) man board on Pinterest.

Songs of Solomon was an entire book about how the body and sex are beautiful. I'm surprised our delicate fundies haven't been censoring the bible of this book.

I think I need to follow you on Pinterest!

Oh, I actually know the fundy response to this one. Song of Solomon should not be taken literally. It's a metaphor for Israel, or something. Every other book, chapter and verse in the bible should be taken literally, just not this one.

Oh my gosh they even stole the font  915977.png

Reminds me of Father Ted reading Halo magazine! (episode 4 (Competition Time), series 1).

I thought I just had hearing problems until now and had no idea facebook was a real thing. Also Godinterest is a silly idea.I think its going to be a huge argument because other people may find something wrong when someone else may not. Just look how the site started there was nothing wrong with pinterest.

This. Searching for casserole recipes and "I Love Jehovah" quotes will not result in a page full of boobs on Pinterest.

 Exactly! And you can un-follow people or even specific boards that are offensive. Sounds like someone just wants to cash in on the Pinterest idea.

The thing is I could see someone trying to come up with a new niche pintrest-y website for specific sections of society but apart from the flat out stealing of the logo and font "Godinterest" also makes no sense as a name. At least "Faithbook" works when you're reading it (although if you say "I'll Faithbook you" out loud most people are going to think you've simply got a lisp). Godinterest is clunky and if you didn't already recognise the stolen logo then you'd have no idea what it meant.

Gosh, it's also boring as all get out. I searched 'recipes'--expecting some hot tater tot and chickinetti action--and nothing came up. There's a whole section of just photographs of Bibles--which as a bibliophile I appreciate to some extent, but that gets old after awhile. People can only listen to so many sermons by T.D. Jakes and look at so many pictures of nature with a Bible quote photoshopped over it before it gets monotonous.

No, no, no, it's a metaphor for the church. Christ and his Bride, the Church. It's not about sex. Why would you ever think that
