The Story of the Jews.

A BBC series.

Really worth watching if you can access BBC i-player.

From ancient to today, from family to the Holocaust, from Zionism to today. I found it fascinating.

Whilst Simon Shama is Jewish I find his use of historical fact and historical footage non partisan. He is obviously as are we all in some way influenced by our culture it is hard ever to find a totally inert and non-partisan view.

I really liked his narrating.

Really worth watching.

Simon Michael Schama, CBE (born 13 February 1945) is a British historian specialising in art history and French history. He is a University Professor of History and Art History at Columbia University, New York.[1] He first came to popular public attention with his history of the French Revolution, Citizens.[1] In the United Kingdom, he is perhaps best known for writing and hosting the 15-part BBC television documentary series A History of Britain.

The son of Jewish parents with roots in Lithuania, Romania, and Turkey, Schama was born in London.[1][2] In the mid-1940s, the family moved to Southend-on-Sea in Essex before moving back to London

I loved his History of Britain also.
