Fundies and parenting goals

Oh to be a fly on the wall in some fundies homes as they discuss parenting goals with, say, an undercover FJ agent posing as a fellow fundy starting a family and looking for a 'mentor'. :wink-kitty: I'd sure like honest answers from various fundies about what there parenting goals are. If I had my way I'd take a survey, asking things like:

What is your number one longterm goal in parenting?

Describe two or three secondary longterm goals for your children?

How about some short term goals for you as a parent, and for your children?

What are you doing to accomplish these goals, on a short term and longterm basis?

I honestly think their long-term parenting goal is to bring their children closer to Jesus. It doesn't matter if they educated, clothed, fed, married to a good person, a contributing member of society or not. So long as they know Jesus (as their Lord and Personal Savior, of course) then the parents have done their job. Secondary goals are modesty to the extreme, world sheltering to the extreme, naivety to the extreme, and purity to the extreme.
