Subject: "Christian" Polar Bear Hunt planned

Somebody needs to stop this: hazardousjourneys.org/expeditions/international-expeditions/canada/

These nitwits want to travel to our Northland and murder a polar bear - just to tick off the environmentalists.

Please - please - Can something be done about it?

Worst part? They are doing it for their God!!!

So, they are going to pay someone $35,000 for their permit to hunt and kill a polar bear, travel to Canada to accomplish this because it's not legal anywhere, take pictures (assuming they succeed at finding and killing the thing) but have to then turn the carcass over to the guide they bought the permit from because they will be arrested if they attempt to smuggle any part of that poor bear back into the US. All of this to prove they are manly and can piss all over environmental concepts simply because scientists have dared to educate people on how endangered these bears are?

Wow, those genetalia must be far, far smaller than I assumed they were, because this "manly" adventure makes no logical sense, wastes insane levels of resources and funding and shows just how asshatery Doug Phillips the tool IS just to prove he is a tool and hateful to all he perpetrates that God gave him dominion over. I hope the poor bear enuchs him first, then he can spend the rest of his life compensating for his own foolishness.

The only upside to this is that if they do get a bear, some indigenous people will get $$$ and meat.

You can bring a polar bear pelt back to the US from a legal hunt in Canada if you have the proper paperwork.

Isn't there a branch of the Canadian police that deals with environmental concerns like this? I'm sure a Canadian officer meeting them in their hotel to school them will have them backstepping and probably promising never to visit Canada and their ebil, unfree government again.

I posted a share addressed to PETA on my Facebook newsfeed:

Dear Peta,

A fundamentalist organization, Vision Vorum, through their affiliate Hazardous Journeys, is sponsoring a trip to Canada to hunt polar bears:

http://hazardousjourneys.org/expedition ... ns/canada/

Is there NOTHING you can do to stop them? I can't believe these people are callous enough, or clueless enough, to promote this, and for what? So they can sit around admiring their "trophy" and pontificate about their manliness. I have $100.00 bucks that says this will be a canned hunt of some kind

I hope that PETA can and will disrupt this travesty, oops, manly adventure.

I can't believe people like this exsist on the same planet I do.

I can't believe this. I couldn't think of anything else, but I just sent an email to the WWF asking about the "legality" of such a hunt. Hopefully, it will alert them to the situation and Doug Phillips Is A Tool's stupid "he-man, woman hater's"* club will get some much needed negative attention. I wish I had time right now to look for info on this team leader listed on the site. Canadian FJers, do you know if there are any environmental or animal protection organizations we should contact?

Is it just me thinking about the content of the site, or is that a particularly heart breaking picture. I know I'm anthropomorphizing the animal, but I find that the polar bear in that picture has such a sad, pleading look. Wouldn't it manlier to hunt an animal which looks fierce? Everything this jerk does is evil!

I googled the name of the guy who is supposed to lead the polar bear hunting expedition - J.D. King. He is a 22yr old "filmmaker". Here is a quote from the VF 2013 film awards:

"Academy founder Doug Phillips spoke with J.D. King, the 22-year-old producer of Crying Wolf, about his new film project, Axed: The End of Green. The upcoming documentary will expose the agenda of the radical environmental movement and promote wise stewardship in keeping with the dominion mandate given in Genesis.

“You’ve seen the polar bear floating on a mini-iceberg in the melting waters. There are actually more polar bears now than ever before,†King said. “The Green Movement’s claim that if only man wasn’t on Planet Earth, things would be better, is foolish and not true.â€

I wonder if there's some sort of exemption for filming such an expedition. Regardless, it's disgusting. Take the money you'd spend on the permit and feed/clothe/buy medicine for a child. I don't know, little tait comes to mind... 35k could go a long way towards paying off his debt and nothing has to die, glory to god!

Doug Phillips is a tool

More quotes

After spending the last three years examining the Green Movement, I am convinced that the primary goal of those driving it is not to “save the earth,†but to conform Western civilization to socialistic ideals.

Green packaging of Red ideas has been in motion for several decades now.

and

The Bible makes it clear that it is our duty to exercise godly dominion over the earth, subdue it, and be fruitful in the process.7

Charles Spurgeon put it this way: “It is an abominable thing to let the grass grow up to your knees and do nothing towards making it into hay.â€

and

The sturdy pioneers of America’s frontier offer an excellent contrast to today’s milk-toast greenies. Though imperfect, the American pioneer remains a great example of a dominion man — a real man who, with wisdom and bravery, set out to tame the wilderness and make it into something fruitful and productive.

This guy isn't a native of Canada is he? So if he leads the expedition will the Eskimos still get money?

Can the link to the article be sent to PETA also?

Yes, yes. Because at 23 you definitely have a better grasp on environmental issues and population stability than the government of two superpowers.

There is an interview with him on this site. He is from Montanta. You have to scroll down to see his interview

http://proprights.org/wordpress/?cat=1

Here is another new phase for us

Most importantly, Axed will give us hope, plan for victory, and show us to break the grimy green chains that bind us.

Below is his description of his childhood

I grew up in a beautiful, remote valley in southwestern Montana.

We’re talking like 65 miles from the nearest stoplight or convenience store. I worked on a luscious cattle ranch nestled beneath snow-capped mountain peaks. I loved God’s amazing creation and took great delight in managing the land, and watching and shooting wildlife, both with my camera, as well as with my rifle to put meat in the freezer for the family. I feel at home when there are pristine rivers, vast forests, and wild places near-by. I was a homeschool boy who spent lots of time learning how to think for myself and reading books on worldview and the creation vs. evolution debates, but, spent even more time traipsing around exploring the world around me. It was there that I became acquainted with the green assault on this country, specifically on rural America– her heart and soul. Freedom, nature, and our green enemies connect intimately with me at the core of my being. In a way, I’m from the front lines. The last two years of my life have been dedicated to exposing the fraud, corruption, lies, theft, and profiteering by the federal government (USFWS) and environmental advocacy groups regarding the reintroduction of wolves into my back yard and the rest of America (That was what my first film, Crying Wolf, was about http://www.cryingwolfmovie.com/store).

I don't have time to really explore the site, but a quick google search for Christian Environmentalist gave me a website for National Religious Partnership for the Environment at nrpe.org. It's a coalition between a few different groups. I think one is Jewish, another Catholic, and I don't remember the others. Has anyone ever heard of it? It sounds too good to be true, but I wonder if a tip-off email to them would bring some negative attention to the Tool.

edited because I cannot effectively break links

I don't exactly want Dougie and his mates to get hurt - no, not even them! - but I do hope the polar bear goes postal on their skinny arses and freaks them out so bad they never want to go on another "manly" trip again...

I hope Doug knows that it's virtually impossible to create a fashionable Arctic Wear Costume for extended periods of time in the cold while they hunt these 900lbs of deadly bear.

Such a bad idea. Just a bad idea all around. Couldn't they find something challenging to do that has some risk? Like maybe do a multi-day unsupported backpacking trip within range of a cell tower? (And bring a solar charger?) That gives you some risk, lots of fun, and doesn't involve hunting a threatened species that will just as soon eat you. Or frostbite.

I know one can buy permits, but somehow I don't see the Canadian government being thrilled about having dominonists misinterpreting Scripture and claiming that killing an endangered bear advances their kingdom somehow.

If we're looking for more reporting possibilities, here are:

The Canadian Embassy in DC - http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/wa ... x?lang=eng (international incident, anyone?)

the Royal Canadian Mounted Police - http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cont/index-eng.htm (has links to all the provinces if we know exactly where the Tool is headed)

Canadian Federation of Humane Societies - http://cfhs.ca/info/contact_us/

Polar Bears International - http://www.polarbearsinternational.org/contact-us (Got this one from a Congressional staffer friend - he said they actively lobby both USA and Canada, and they have more credibility than PETA)
