Just the thing to warm up a cold morning- NCFIC reprints

"warm up" as in get the blood boiling.

Ah, my friends at the National Council of Father-Idolizing Churches, NCFIC.org

Feast your ears on: ncfic.org/weblogmodule/view/id/1330/src/@random493e73d2154bd/

That unholy duet of NCFIC and Vision Forum have reprinted yet another public-domain book for profitable sale unto the masses, this one being "Building a Godly Home" by the Puritan wise guy man William Gouge. (Original title: "Of Domestical Duties." Gotta love them adverbially challenged Puritans ... :D )

Note well: You say "goozh," not "gouge," as in "VF and NCFIC will gouge your pockets while marginalizing your wives and daughters into domestic and reproductive servitude.

YOu doubt this? Consider Scott Brown's sum-uppery of the book:

"William Gouge will change your whole way of understanding your role with your wife, dealing with the weaknesses of the weaker vessel."

:o Discuss. Unless you're more interested in a calm tummy, which is fine, too.

Oh, those lucky Brown girls of the second generation: Scott goes on to kvell, "I was so taken by it, that I gathered my son and my sons-in-law and I read it to them, out loud. It was so transforming; those young men received a deposit in their early, early part of their marriages that I wish I had."

It's snarkily amusing to me that you can hear Doug grunt/sigh as Scott mentions his sons-in-law. We're talking about Pete Bradrick, there, y'all!!!!

They certainly received a DEPOSIT of something...

It's just precious how these tools have to reach into the distant culture of the past for explicit directions on how to tame the wild beasts that are us womenfolk. It's no wonder that they can't stretch their small minds around the concept of evolution. Growth. Change for the better.

UGH. It hurts.

Evolution is almost as sinful as a woman's body and I can't even begin to think of how sinful a woman's mind can be, particularly if she thinks she can do something on her own. Ack!

I hope for a mighty fall for Scottyboy Brown. He sets off my tooldar more than any of his ilk for some reason I have never been able to pinpoint.

Well, he's not running for Senate in Massachusetts again, thank baby jeebus. I think he may have a gig with Fox Noise, but I'm not 100% positive.

Different Scott Brown.

The MA Scott is, believe it or not, significantly brighter than the NC (NCFIC) Scott Brown who is a tool.

[Hmmm, let's see what we can get our resident Google-bots to do:]

I'm sure it will make their wives' hearts aflutter knowing their husbands know how to manage their wives' weaknesses so much better. These men are such catches!

I skimmed it for a few minutes, and all I got out of it was the reasons why I passed on being a Colonial American literature specialist. Looooong sermon, boring in its details. Leave it to the Puritans to make a six-hour sermon out of a ten word passage.

Well damn. Here I was, thinking there was something I'd missed about the MA Scott Brown when he ran for senate. I would have felt even more justified in voting for Elizabeth Warren.

He pings, big time. Always has. It's heart-cockle warming, isn't it - all that wimminfolk hating and taming coming from so far back in the closet.

Do we have a guestimate as to how many public domain books they've "republished" or should I say "repurposed?" For an organization that is SO BIG on family blah blah godly its quite disingenuous to sell something without providing the info that its available for free.

Jesus doesnt like lies by omission.

Scotty's also just posted a wall o' text on his blog (scottbrownonline.com/when-contraception-was-outlawed/#more-11091) about the Comstock Act, which outlawed contraception in the US for over 60 years. In brief, he wants to see a return to the good ol' days, when there was no more "recreation without procreation."

Yep, makes sense: if he has to touch the icky woman, at least he should get a kid out of the deal. ;)

Re: Scotty boy's rant on Comstock.

When someone goes on at such length about others' sex lives and behavior, you just KNOW his closet is practically breaking open at the seams.

Why buy it from them when you can get a copy online, for free.

http://www.chapellibrary.org/files/arch ... otddu1.pdf

Skimmed bits of it. Seems like a lot in this talks about the governing leaders being over the man like the man over the wife. Wonder if the translation the new guys are selling includes that bit, and if so, if they stand behind their advice to women... if the husband is horrible to you, be ever more obedient to serve god. Wouldn't they need to be evermore obedient to serve god by honoring Obama?

Oh nice:

They are to be accounted impotent and in that respect unable to perform the essential duties of marriage, who [to use the Scripture phrase] were born eunuchs from their mother's womb (Matt 19:12): or by any accidental occasion are so made: as they who are defective, or closed in their secret parts: or taken with an incurable palsy: or possessed with frigidity, or any other such like impediment. These ought not to seek after marriage: for by those signs of impotency God sheweth that he calleth them to live single.

So Scott Brown is teaching this to his sons? They may not call it eugenics, but it is.

Marriage was made chiefly for companionship. Even if the companions cannot bear children, or one or both have to share duties usually associated with a specific gender, so what? He would deny the felicity of marriage to the fragile? How cruel! Seriously.

Oh no, because Obama is not a rightful president, see? I mean, despite his having legal proof of citizenship by birth in the US, he was actually born in Kenya and is thus false and unworthy of being heeded.

If they dislike the civil authorities over them, they can always be trusted to find some excuse for blatant and regular disobedience - but God help a child who makes the same argument against a cruel parent, or a wife who should choose to leave a cruel husband.

Even weirder coming from Scott Brown of all freaking people, who has no biological children (right?). I'm sure their infertility is blamed on the "weaker vessel" regardless, but doesn't that mean they should have gotten divoced years ago? Plus they should obviously not be having sex because they can't procreate when they "recreate" anymore :?

I just watched the video - Scottyboy, Dougie, and Joel Beeke all verbally leghumping one another. Majorly icky. And what is with the cheesy, synthesized, Generic Victorious Military March background music?? News from the front! Team Dominion is winning the war, yaaaaaaay!!!

Hey Scottyboy - listen up: I'm in my late 50s and menopausal. Mr. MtL, thanks to minor surgical intervention during his last marriage, is shooting blanks. Ergo, we are "recreating without procreating," and having a fine old time of it. Put that in your sex-obsessed, judgmental little pipe and smoke it.

They look like they either just got out of bed with each other or are headed there after the video shoot.

Ping, ping, ping!
