A Charge For Young Men

I was bored so I decided to look up the Bradricks on youtube. In this video, Peter Bradrick talks to young men. I am trying to include most of what he says.

Lots of warrior talk

He warns women that he is going to talk tough to men but that some of what he will discuss should be applied to young women also. So, why not speak to everyone?

Talks about homeschool movement. Most of the homeschool movement, he says, is made up of hypocrites.

He quotes someone as saying that 90 our of a 100 Christians are doomed to hell. Kind of crappy view of god you got there Peter.

The church preaches a water down false message. The message of inclusiveness leads to hell. This dangerous message has entered the school system, our home etc

UNless you delight in the law of god, you might be a hyprocrite.

Fathers turned their hearts to go in the Old Testament because they saw suffering. Their children did not worship god because the culture was religious and it was too easy for them to be superficial religious people.

Boys have the opportunity to be mentored by their father. If you start a downward slide, it will hurt you, your children and your grandchildren.

The great sins of being a son is to judge your father as not giving you what you need. Not having a perfect upbringing is a blessing from god because it causes you to read more scriptures to find answers. Having an imperfect life hardens you and makes you a better man. The man who has all the answers and has been given everything frightens Peter because they are second generation Christians.

The second part. It is interesting how many scare tactics that he uses against young men

He asks young men what their measure of success is. He wants to know how sober the young men are about taking the charge bequeathed by their fathers. He says that the young men will wish that they had listened and taken notes from Scott Brown and Swanson(Sp?)

Tells them to take advantage of the examples of their father. He tells them to get serious. That they must be serious

Pushes a book called Thoughts For Young Men

There is a sobriety to the season of youth.

Because god doesn't immediately punish you for a sin, your heart becomes set toward that sin. When you are raising a child and you spank them and discipline them, there is very fast learning. The Lord doesn't always work that way with us

When you are old you will realize that your fun had consequences. Talks about squandered youth.

Reformation won't happen unless the youth take it on. He sounds very passionate about pressing on with the reformation

To build a strong foundation in god, you obey his words.

He quotes James that faith without works is dead. If you obey Jesus, you will obey him. God is not mocked

IF you are sowing destruction in youth, you will reap that destruction. Take seriously the things that you have been charged with and press on. Take the reformation to the next level. Raise children to the glory of god

The devil wants to derail young men in their youth. Even if convert later, the devil is happy because he knows he has inoculated another soldier from being effective against the battle. The devil wants to disable another warrior so the reign of death moves on.

I am so glad that Old Peter Wisdom Bradrick All Knowing is out there to tell us where we have screwed up, and where most of Christendom is screwing up without his wisdom and that he is there to set everyone straight. Amazing that the world did without him until we were graced with his birth....what...30 odd years ago????
