That is a video of two women being attacked as a result of two men deciding to attack them. WTF is that to do with burqas and modesty? And why shouldn't they go wherever they want, at any time of day or night?

Of course they should be able to go wherever they want whenever they want, that's what I was trying to say.

I just wanted to make a point to the whole "modesty will make assaults and rape disappear" idea.

Of course it's utter bullshit. Rape isn't about attraction. It's about power. In fact, I would say that wearing burquas would increase rape because they signify a weaker person and thus make you a bigger target. If society thinks you're so weak as to not be able to walk about by yourself or show your face, then that will only encourage a man who is hell bent on raping someone. The powerless are easier targets.

For most fundies, women are never modest enough. If the woman wears a burqa than extremists will wonder why she walked outside without a male guard.
