It's not - it's neutral. Handy for expressing disgust at the fundie content of a post while still showing gratitude to the poster.

I would be surprised if she headed to Josh’s prison.  It takes a couple weeks to get your visitor list approved, etc.  The BOP is not about running a meet and greet.  It is about incarceration of criminals.

I think Anna is going to be shocked when she gets there of:

1.   No hand sex

2.  She needs to bring a boat load of quarters to get snacks.
3.   No sitting on Joshy’s lap.

4.  Sitting in a room with plenty of other criminals and their families.

5.  Not being able to bring in homemade treats, or books or anything else.
6.  Getting searched on the way in.
7.  Joshy boy is not special and is being treated like every other prisoner in the system.

8.  There is NO privacy during visits.

9.  The prison visit is not 24-7.  You have to schedule the visit.  It is for a fixed period of time. And, most important, you cannot visit whenever you feel like it.

Visiting prisoners is not the best even at a low security facility.

Anna needs to get a job so she can focus on filling Joshies commissary account.

My personal feeling is she is headed to Priscilla’s with the hope of taking a side trip to visit Josh.

I don’t think Anna thinks she’s going to get to visit Josh, but she may hope to be able to see him and wave as he is brought in.

Of course, maybe she isn’t physically on a real “roadtrip” but is spiritually with her “bestie” on his road trip.  🙃

She might stay in the area a while to wait to see him. Or she might use the time to look for housing.

These seem like reasonable theories, and she could be doing both. Maybe she had planned a week’s get-away around the time of her birthday to scope things out and it coincidentally fell into place with Josh getting assigned to a prison the same time. Maybe that explains some of her seemingly upbeat social media post, that there was at least some movement in the process and she could start planning the next phase of her “I married a pedophile and I’m sticking with him” life.

Because what mother of seven children  wouldn't leave them with relatives while she "road trips" to another state to get a fleeting glimpse of her pedo sado freak huband as he's being hauled off to the pen?

He might be at OK City transfer center for evaluation before being assigned to his permanent home for the next how many years. If he is placed in Seagoville he will have to do his own laundry and be assigned a job. She will not be able to visit him for about 60 days, first she has to be cleared by BOP to be placed on the visitor list, show up early on his visiting days either Fri and Sat or Sun and Mon, stand in line to get in. Her visit can only be up to 2 hrs once a month until he gets enough points for more visits per month. Another thing the warden can cancel visitation for the entire prison at any time for any reason. You do not know until you show up. He must wear his beige uniform and it must be ironed. After each visit the prisoner is strip and body cavity searched. He might be given access to the  BOP email system which he can use whenever if his pod has not had any disciplinary actions. Phone calls are only 15 min per call and he can only call same person once a day, he earns the right to use the phone by a point system and the actions of other prisoners in his pod. All his mail is opened read then copied and the copies are given to the prisoner, because people were lacing the paper with drugs.  On the positive side there is career advancement there, if he makes friends with someone that works in the prison industry section and he gets a job there he can go from a low level job to management. Medical Care there is really bad. Plus it also houses major drug dealers so the violence is a problem. All I can says is your actions have consequences now you are living them.

He has never had a real job or done his own laundry and no one there will care about his Z list celebrity status.  Anna will I, if she hasn’t already, learn she isn’t entitled to special attention.

Good. She needs a zap of reality. The real victims here are her kids.

Or the other prisoners will care very much about his Z list celebrity status and make it a point to crush their crackers on the floor for him to sweep up.

Anna will stand in line like everyone else, she will have no special privileges on visiting days. She will be treated like everyone else. One thing I forgot to mention she can’t bring anything with her except a bottle to feed the newest Duggar. She can only bring three of kids at a time. These guidelines were prior to Covid. No one inside will care about his zero celebrity or political status, probably there are people with higher status.

Can you imagine the conversations?!?

Anna: Hi random stranger in the visitor's queue, have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour?

Random stranger in the visitor's queue: Erm...... So, who are you here to visit?

Anna: My Godly convicted paedophile husband, but I know he didn't do it. Any of the times.

Random stranger: ...

The mind boggles.

A little off topic, but I’m sickened by the thought of how Anna and her ilk likely gloat at the US Supreme Court ruling regarding abortions. Uhh… I hate their disregard for women.

Interesting fact about Seagoville - it was a Japanese Internment Camp during WWII. There is a plaque at the entrance stating that.

Has Anna really not posted about the Supreme Court decision? Did she stop posting pro-life stuff at some point? Maybe to try to get back on TV?

And no one will care about their bizarre beliefs or Anna’s desire for conjugal visits (they are not allowed at Seagoville).

What a brutally effective way to maintain discipline.  You do NOT want to be the guy on your pod who gets everyone else f**ked.

I'm not surprised that Anna is committed to Josh.  I think she loves and probably worships Josh as her husband and the father of her children.  She was taught from birth to revere her father and then husband.  The damage caused by brainwashing and elimination of critical thinking skills that is the insular Gothard/IBLP "educational" system has utterly robbed her of even the idea of personal agency.  It's literally unthinkable.

She's been totally inculcated in a system that overtly blames victims for their victimization, demands instant forgiveness and requires total dedication to the husband, no matter his endless transgressions; the magnitude of those transgressions is irrelevant.  She's the ultimate Gothard Stepford wife.

Would his email be monitored? Could he use it to access child porn?

Email and internet in prison are not like email and internet on the outside.

Email is not strictly monitored exactly but it's readable by the company that provides it (at a high cost, mind you, because....the American prison system sucks. Who has paid for email in the past decade? Inmates in their families).

Anyway. It's text-only. You can't attach anything and it is character limited. I can't remember how many characters Corrlinks limits to but I think around ~10,000 words is what it comes out to on average. There is no way to link in or out.

When inmates do have internet access, it isn't internet as we know it but secured intranet. There are basically sites that exist and those are all you can access. My penpal has some variant of YouTube that is loaded only with like, documentaries or something. Similar system for music. (It may interest you all to know that Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" is banned by the Iowa State Prison system, but most of Tool's music is not.)

I suppose somebody could write erotica that would be commonly considered child pornography and send it to him from the email. I am unsure if it would be caught (even by scanned mail, which is such a bullshit thing because the COs are the ones bringing in the contraband...) because the labor cost of reading all that mail is so high. It's about the idea that they could read it. Most of it does not get actually read closely. However, erotica, even of underage characters, is not illegal in the US and this is why I thought the "no pornography" sentencing addendum from Brooks was kind of legally interesting because obscenity and the whole "I know it when I see it" litmus (Jacobellis v Ohio) and the whole legal branch of AO3, etc, etc. It's kind of a messy legal question.

I think she is just so besotted with Josh that it's really beyond any understanding.   Perhaps it's because she doesn't want to even think about how things went wrong and were wrong in the first place.

It’s beyond being besotted. She has zero critical thinking skills because she has never been taught any. Any attempts to gain some were beaten out of her long ago. She is brainwashed.

Could she (and the kids) have been on the Duggar bus that went to the Collingsworth wedding? Could Olivia have been her "bestie?"

Possibly.  Perhaps her "bestie" was in or attending the wedding.

Some friends of my mom's were also.  They were born in the US, of Japanese descent, and were guilty of nothing.
