     The tech part wasn’t clear to me and now that the dust is settling from the trial  I’m wondering how it all worked. Also, IIRC, the judge said something about how Josh went to great lengths to cover up his crimes. Or maybe it was the prosecution.

About the Holts.  One thing I can't get passed is the fact they let Josh stay with them knowing he molested 5 young girls.  They had minor children!  WTF???  And they still wanted Josh to marry Kayleigh after he confessed what he did!  Again,  WTF???  I guess saying "I'm sorry" was enough for them.  Fuck them!

So the podcast confirms it went on for YEARS and JB & Meech still let the pedophile babysit their younger children. What useless pond scum they are.

Also yeah the whole “this 15 year old was cheating on a girl he’s never so much as kissed by molesting a 5 year old” shows just how little their priorities lie in protecting children.

If Holt thinks JB downplayed it from the start and made the “treatment” facility out to be more than it was, odds are pretty high that at least Anna, and most likely Pa Keller too, was not made fully aware of everything that happened and how long it went on. Just some kind of “he has high sexual appetite and you must be available at all times to satiate him so he doesn’t stray” 🤮

And they were seen in social media pics together as late as 2013/2014.  

Jim Holt also bought property (10 acres) from Boob in 2017.  They claimed the purchase was exempt from real estate transfer tax under one of the following reasons: "family, gift, consideration of $100 or less".

What I understood is that JB told them about what Josh had done because he  (JB) saw it as cheating on Kayleigh. It wasn’t the Holts claiming they saw it that way.

3. However, on March 30, 2005 (per the Holts) the Duggars called the Holts and said they needed to discuss something that might destroy the “betrothal”  between the kids.

4. This was when the Holts were told that Josh had been touching girls “over the clothes” while they were sleeping and that it had just escalated to sticking his hand under Joy’s skirt while she was on his lap.  The Holts were left with the impression that this was over-the-underpants.

5. We know now that the reason the Duggar parents were distraught and called the Holts this time is because Josh actually stuck his hand inside the little girl’s underpants and digitally penetrated her.

6. I have the uneasy feeling that it may have been the digital penetration that the Duggars (or at least JB) saw as Josh being unfaithful to Kayleigh. (Apparently other instances of molesting his sisters did not come up to the standard of “infidelity,”

If I understood correctly, the Holts opposed Josh being allowed to babysit and I caught a suggestion that for a while the Duggars were getting “outside” babysitters because they couldn’t trust Josh not to molest his sisters.  The babysitters were supposed to keep an eye on Josh. (Presumably Jana and Jill were just a bit too young to be left in charge under the circumstances.)

I am wondering not just what else Josh did but also to whom.  It would not surprise me if Josh admitted to Bobye (the time when he was staying at their house a year or so later) that he had molested other girls.

As for “cheating” on Kayleigh by molesting his sisters, I think this is one of those cases where these people went back to “olden times” to construct their ideas of what the Bible days.   

A betrothal is an exchange of promises.  It was essentially a sort of contract and it used to be you couldn’t marry someone else if you were betrothed unless you were released from the betrothal.  From what I’ve seen of these people, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some exchange of promises between Josh and Kayleigh and the promises may have included staying “pure” until they married.  So Josh was unfaithful by not being “pure.”

Remember also during the Ashley Madison scandal, when Josh confessed to a “porn addiction,” it was not clear if his “infidelity” was just that he watched porn or if he actually had contact with women.  To these fundies, watching porn is infidelity.

So not remaining “pure” after a betrothal might be infidelity also.

Usual grain of salt concerns with people on the internet, but this feels true to me. Just like, gut feelings about how she speaks about it. She certainly is a sex workers.

Mostly, though, I am floored to find out that people met real other human people on Ashely Madison because I was under the impression that it was largely filled with bots and was just a business based on scamming men who want affairs and pay-to-chat message rates that pile up. Those apparently are issues with the site, but after further research, yea, there are some real people you can meet on it. I've still never wrapped my head around why Josh used this option because like, dude, if you want to sleep with a sex worker, you can just do that. There are ways to just do that. You don't need to pay a middle man exorbitant amounts of money and compromise your data to do that.

In DC, the people in Josh’s circle were more worldly and it wasn’t all about church, scripture, Gothard, blah blah blah, like in Tontitown. I figure once Josh moved there, he saw and met other men who were more blatant about cheating on their wives, and one or more of them might have mentioned the AM website. He thought, hey, they’re doing it and keeping it on the down low, so I can do it, too.

I take back what I predicted about Josh leaving Anna for a younger, childless woman. Twenty years after getting released is a long time. I thought that he would get 7 years of jail time with 3-5 supervised years after. But at this point he will be in his mid-to-late 60s (if he doesn’t reoffend) before he won’t have a court-ordered babysitter. I could see him being unhappy with Anna but comfortable so he wouldn’t want to shake things up.

I know so little about NDA’s. Do they expire? Is there any way to be let out of one? If Amy and Deanna speak up while the NDA is still in place can they be sued? I’m sure they have tea to spill, otherwise they wouldn’t have been asked/coerced (not sure how it all went down) to sign an NDA.

Are we sure 2005 is the right year? Because Josh would have been 17 in 2005. Did they really wait 5 years and not do anything? I thought he was younger than that when they sent him away. I thought he was 15.

The idea that this is "cheating" is super weird.

Sorry, that was a typo.  It should have been 2003.  (I would fix it if I could edit.)

As I recall, the Holts said that Josh was just about to turn or had just turned 15.
