I’m going to start telling people if you want me to take a job in Iowa that job better pay a million a month to start.

Fingers crossed that the close races stay blue.  Washington state re-elected Patty Murray.  I’ve never seen such mud slinging.  The opponent’s ads made it look like Patty was out and about committing crimes personally.  That drove me crazy, the idea that democrats want more violent crimes in our everyday life.  Ugh.  😬

I just hope Mark Kelly in AZ gets another term. I don‘t know how good he is besides being a democrat but I gotta cheer on a former astronaut

I'm the same as Han as for how much they'd have to pay me to get me to move back to Iowa.

Is it safe to come out from under the the table and look at the returns?

So far, it's not as bad as it could have been. Dems look to have potentially gained a seat in the senate, but the house is still a question mark with it looking somewhat likely that it will go red. I'm gutted about Luria, but all in all, it could have been worse.

It's a nail-biter but, as @Destiny said, it's not as bad as it could have been.  I was up until all hours watching CNN and now have it muted in the background.  Senate races in GA, AZ, and NV are still too close to call.  House not looking great for the Dems.

I'm not a miss the good old days kind of person but find it very sad that politics has gotten to the ugly point it has.  Standards for eligibility to run for office should, imo, be much higher than they are.  The running of super-bad candidates shouldn't be normalized.

I was happy to see Abigail Spanberger win in VA but find it frightening that the race was as close as it was.  Hoping like crazy that Warnock wins the senate race in GA.

I think you in the wrong place sweetie. Perhaps Parlor or Truth or whatever it is called is the place you should hang out at.

Oh my bad I forgot conservative voices aren't welcome here. Soon our voices won't be welcome anywhere in the US except for maybe Florida.

Honest question: What do you think of the attack on Paul Pelosi? If a candidate says journalists should be jailed do you agree? If so why?

When “conservative voices” mean bigotry; racism; xenophobia; homophobia; hatred; spreading lies and conspiracy theories; calling insurrectionists and domestic terrorists “patriots”; failing or willfully choosing not to understand why Trump was twice impeached and should have been removed from office; believing the 2020 election was stolen; being against abortion; thinking anything about the Confederacy is worth celebrating; supporting book banning; being against teaching CRT; refusing to recognize preferred pronouns and gender fluidity - any single one of the above or any combination of the above- then I sincerely hope your vision of the future of the US is absolutely accurate. We would all be happy to see our future without the “conservative voices” of hate.

You said this better than I ever could.  The only thing I would add is that Republicans aren't really conservatives anymore.  They never really care about spending when they are in power.  They're just a group now that is fueled by hate.

There are a few good ones here and there, the problem is they are being drown out and/or thrown under the bus my the fanatics. They are a dying breed.

Troll level: Master

Quote

John Fetterman—the Democrat who won Pennsylvania's closely-watched Senate election—trolled his opponent, New Jersey Republican millionaire and carpetbagger Mehmet Oz, at his victory party.

People couldn't help but notice the food served at the Senator-Elect's campaign event included plenty of crudité, a subtle nod to one of Oz's more notorious campaign flubs.

The crudité is a reference to Oz's now-infamous video in which he cluelessly attempted to buy groceries for his wife. The video, first posted in April, featured Oz shopping in a supermarket for ingredients for crudité and complaining the $20 total for those ingredients was too high.

Gosh it seems I touched @Travlr98’s hot spot full of nerves. Poor snowflake. I bet of you go back to your “Fuck Your Feelings” crowd they will hug you and kiss you and call you George. They’ll probably wrap you in a warm blanket, give you Graham crackers and warm milk, and tell you soothing stories in a soft voice until you fall asleep.

Or they will mercilessly mock you and ask why you even showed up here at such a (insert string of profane and horrible slurs) place much less posted. Then they will tell you that you are obviously a (insert slur) and you aren’t welcome to play KKK and Nazi games with them anymore. Sad.

Shoo, annoying gnat. You aren’t going to bring back the kind of material you thought to whatever edgy right wing blog for which you write. I stand by what I said 100%. It’s this thing I do called trying to love my fellow humans. It’s a wild idea but it was suggested by a guy named Jesus and I thought it was pretty great.

What people like @Travlr98 don‘t understand is that Trump style Republicans won‘t stop at banning abortion or same sex marriage. They will eventually come after ordinary people, for example for not believing in the right flavor of Christianity.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
