As much as I thoroughly despise McConnell I haven't decided to cheer or fear. I am extremely glad to get rid of him, but I fear someone like Ted Cruz who is an acolyte of Trump pushing to be speaker.

Well this would be for the Republican leader of the Senate where the Republicans are not the majority.  If the Democratic majority grows due to fuck face dragging the party down with them the leadership posting would be even less fun for him than it is now with Branch Trumpvidians pushing out the "old guard."

Too bad he isn't leaving politics behind altogether.
History won't treat him kindly. Not for what he did in order to pack the Supreme Court. Not for the way he acquitted Trump twice from impeachment, despite Trump's obvious guilt. Not for his spineless sycophancy for Trump and his maga cronies. He'll be remembered for being one of the main architects of the current state of democracy in the US.
