But those were kids abiding by their parents' rules. Jeremy is a full-blown adult who was allowed to go to real college and be a freaking soccer player. I don't think we've ever heard of this kind of policy for an adult Duggar or Duggar spouse before. It honestly makes me really sad for Jinger... If they are this adamant that Jeremy, an adult man will cheat or sin in general just from having access to the internet, that's just setting up Jinger for some BS that it was inevitable that he would cheat because he wasn't restricted enough/she wasn't joyfully available enough. There is no trust in a setup like that. I feel like it would create so much suspicion and tension. Just a huge WTF moment for me.

If we were discussing Josh - this is 100% applicable. I am not so sure with Jeremy that the temptation is other women (although, could be porn!). Temptation could be the world at large - he doesnt want to be tempted into changing beliefs / doesnt want to be distracted from his "ministry". Haha who knows.

Please Rufus let us have a little Miss Perpetua Vuolo in the future!

It sounds like a car: "I think I might trade in my old Toyota Camry for a new Vuolo Perpetua! So much more godly, plus it has a back-up camera"

Well i'll be dammed, I oddly like that name nn Tua or Perty.

There's something very sad about a 31 year old man not being able to have the internet on his phone because otherwise he can't control his temptations.

Just out of curiosity, how does one go about not having internet on their phone?

I have never heard of a plan that did not come with data for internet.

Does he just turn it off?

Does he have a plan that is talk and text only? Thats annoying for when messages go through easier on internet connection.

Who lives without internet connection without google maps etc?

Do I smell bullshit?

So, does anybody still think JinJer are going to loosen up or become more relaxed in California? Or that they would even be slightly ok with a pro-LGBTQ movie? Cause, the way I see it, the answer is a resounding nope.

I've known people to remove all apps from their phones and install blockers to prevent the temptation of wasting time on their phones, but I really dont think anything reasonable like that is what he means here.

It just blows my mind....like what grown ass man can't have the internet on his phone because it might cause temptation. That's as bad as "Susan-Ron Smith" couples facebook profiles. WTF does he do when he's out and about and needs to look up directions somewhere or find the closest coffee shop?

Well..I am not commenting on the content, because I really don't think there is much. It's just always more crap about the same usual crap. Those two really don't say anything but like using a lot of words and capitalizing on others' mediocre ideas (yes, Jeremíah and Jinger, read our book, use our journal...your like will change).

But...while it was annoying as hell to listen to both of the douche canoes together, to me the difference in the way they spoke was noticeable. While I son't think sock enthusiast Jeremy is nearly as smart or elocuent as he thinks he is, he IS smarter and more articulate than Carhartt loving Jeremy. It was just pathetic to listen to Roloff saying "ddduude" and "that is sooo good" and trying to quote scripture and trying to appear so deep, smart and well read. He could not keep up.  He is really, really, really dumb.

This also showcased even more how indoctrinated and unable of critical thinking Jinger is. She really cannot put a sentence together, let alone articulate a meaningful opinion or thought. She reminded me of myself when I was younger and felt overshadowed and overwhelmed by my older siblings speaking about issues I did not understand. I am not saying the others are interesting or intelligent people, but at least somewhere in there, among the Roloffs' "SO true", and "always more" and "stoked" and "pumped" and enneagrams and ridiculous use of adjectives there are a few -mediocre, and stolen- concepts, Jinger just sounds like the member of a cult. And I know she IS a member of a cult, but I am talking no free will, no opinion, living isolated in a compound hardcore  kind of cult. That is what she sounded like. All her answers made no sense and everything was about glorifying the lord. It was really creepy to listen to them, Jeremy sounds so controlling. He clearly married her cause he knew she would be easy to "mould". He likes being idealized and explaining his "big" ideas to his uneducated, naive wife.

Probably the same thing everyone did up until 11 or so years ago: Ask for directions. :kitty-wink:

(I mean, I think it's completely ridiculous that Jeremy can't have Internet on his phone because of temptations. Ever heard of self-control? Your question just struck me as pretty funny since it's not like we've always had smartphones to navigate, and yet somehow, people still managed to get to where they were going!)

Wondering...is it the opposite? He could have the opportunity to have internet in his phone but he has it disabled and he HAS the self control to keep it that way so he doesn't randomly open FB without thinking 30 times a day like I do ..

The only time I ever heard the name Perpetua was in Bridget Jone's Diary. She was an annoying co-worker who wore headbands and was nosy and intrusive if I remembered right.  ?

If Jeremy wasn’t Jeremy I would admire him not using his phone for much.

But, it leaves him more time for his book learnin’ and we all know what that means. ?

From what I understood, Jeremy V does technically have internet on his phone. He talked about watching a soccer app. He just doesn't have any other apps like twitter or instagram. I wonder if he uninstalled safari? Otherwise not having apps is pretty pointless. Maybe he uses something like screen time or parental controls. He also turned on an accessibility feature to make his whole phone grayscale to make it less appealing.

He talked a lot about wanting to be pure and avoid temptation in thought. I didn't get the sense that it was just about sexual stuff, it was in general about everything. But he never defined it. He said temptation was even more difficult before, being a single pastor. Now he tells Jinger whenever he has impure thoughts so she can pray for him. They say it builds trust because she knows he'll come to her whenever something is wrong instead of doing something behind her back. This conversation was extra hilarious because Jeremy Roloff had a "porn addiction" (looking at hot women on instagram) that devastated Audrey a while back.

Jeremy V is grateful he found a wife who will submit to the word of God if the bible corrects her about something.

They both said that if God isn't at the center of your life, it's awful for your marriage because you'll put your spouse into that status and they can never live up.

And don't worry, Audrey and Jeremy offered to send them a marriage journal!!

Do they come out with this marriage stuff just to hear themselves speak?  I am not in a Christ centered marriage.  Neither myself or my spouse of 18 years look to each other to fill a god like roll in our lives. He is my partner, my best friend, someone to have fun with, to live my life with. I don't need to have him be my everything. I can live without him, just don't want to. I really can't imagine constantly talking about my marriage,  even after 18 years and 2 teens later. A newly wed couple? Be quite. You know nothing.  Patriarchy sucks.

The way that fundies throw around the phrase “porn addiction” to mean anything from compulsive 24/7 porn viewing to voluntarily looking at the wikipedia page for Jennifer Lawrence is super annoying!

Plenty of people live without Internet on their phone, and survive just fine, just like they did 15 years ago.

I would like to have a phone without internet, like retro flip phone or one of those old Nokias, but I don't know what I'd do in situations where I'd otherwise be on my phone, like on the bus, waiting for a friend at a coffee shop, waiting to go into my lecture hall etc.

God isn’t even hanging out in the outskirts of my life and my marriage is just fine. Neither me nor Mr Way give eachother God like status to live up to. There are definitly expectations to be a good partner and parent, to be a part of team Way, but I think that’s reasonable expectations in a marriage.

I could probably use someone guarding over my internet (I am surfing FJ instead of working right now ... :pb_rollseyes:) but I think it would be better for both me and my relationship in the long run if I just worked on my self control instead of just giving it up.

The pressure they must feel to stay godly and pure at all costs makes me sad. Their lives makes me sad. That they want to force us all to live that life makes me scared.

I don't know anything about the Roloffs other than that I saw their show upteen years ago, but I had to comment on this bit. I have an acquaintance from high school on my Instagram list who does this. Let preface this by saying: Person, you do you, not any of my worry what you are liking on Insta, enjoy yourself, it is kinda interesting people-watching what some people are into. That being said, the guy I know doing this pisses me off. I have him on both Insta and FB. On FB he is always sharing "how godly is trump, heart eye emoji", "Respect our troops and flag", "Evangelical God is the best God" and "I love my wife so much posts" (yes he is a walking stereotype it seems), but on Insta he has all these people he went to high school with (and not his wife) and a TON of insta-porn-models-people. He likes these post and of course you can see who he follows and what he likes. The reason it pisses me off is that it looks so disrespectful to his wife and I feel so sorry for her because it does not appear that she knows about it (I don't know that for sure, but he doesn't do it on FB where she is, so I think it's a good bet). I would not be able to deal with that if I were here, so that Audrey was devastated, I could understand. With this guy anybody and everybody could and does know about it, but it is still behind her back, if it was similar situation there, I would understand. I don't mean to go all judgy or anything, so don't come at me, it is just one situation that I am observing and wondering about and projecting my own insecurities onto.

We did this for a while. I don't really go out so much (like parting or just hanging around outside) so most of the place I went had wifi (school, uni, even the grocery store lol) or did not and I was there to be there not on my phone. I had a pre-pay plan with minutes because I have held the notion (and the tiny bank account) that one day, internet will just magically appear on my phone. Bus stops where super boring, but I had a few non-wifi games and tried to carry a book with me. What was really crap was not being able to check the app that for the public transport to see if the bus was still coming or not. I am not kidding, just as I was about to give up on this notion and was a bit better off financally, the provider I was with started offering a free data plan for minimal messaging service (e.g. it was supposed to just be enough for FB messenger and Whatsapp, but worked really really reallly slowly for anything). I won and it is now impossible to not have access to any data from the provider I had. Oh and we started Little Outta one out on an old school Nokia and slowly worked our way up. He is now at an Iphone 4 because if he wants to rely on us, then he just has to wait until we upgrade (also he is 14 and being that far behind was fine until a month ago when practilly every app stopped working, so he may finally get his own choice phone as a birthday gift).

JinJer with JoKen. Not sure when these gathering happened.

Am I the only one who feels like he’s explicitly stating love for Jinger’s family members because he’s aware of the rumors that he hates her family?

Maybe it’s just me, but I love my in-laws and they know that without me having to announce it awkwardly in an insta caption.

Since easter is coming up, I thought that listening to the Roloff/Vuolo podcast was a new and appropriate way to remember and participate in the sufferings of Christ. And sweet Jeeeesus, what a lot of clichés. It's basically an hour of one couple praising the other, with the words "godly", "pure" and "love that" happening at least every 10 seconds. Thankfully I listened while I'm doing some routine stuff at work that had to be done, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

One detail: Jeremy says that he has e-mail and some apps (soccer and chess) on his phone, but not "like instagram and Facebook". So yeah, he has a phone with internet access, but he has removed lots of social media apps. He might very well have a map there - I don't think that would lead him into temptation.

Is it just me or is that a hideously unflattering photo? Normally I find all 4 of them nice enough looking, but aside from Kendra, they do not look good to me here.

I think Jinjer's shoes are wearing her, not the other way around.
