Kayleigh McEnany: Press Secretary Number Four

That also looks like the "we want to catch Covid to prove its only a flu" crowd. I see a few masks but not very many in the coverage I've seen of it. Looks like lots of people want to get Covid for Thanksgiving.

Word on the tweet is that Kayleigh dislikes Trump and is totally aware that she's perpetuating a fraud.

That makes her more repulsive

Clearly the American people DON'T know how to protect their health, or we wouldn't have the numbers we have today.

I read a Park Service estimate was around 10,000 or 11,000.  And by the way, it's physically impossible for that entire area to hold more than 135,000 people.

Joe Lockhart - who had served as press secretary in the Clinton administration from 1998 to 2000 had some advice for the incoming press secretary

Quote

Of all the challenges facing President-elect Joe Biden, restoring objective truth and common facts will be among the most daunting and important. But it can be done.

My advice for the incoming White House press secretary is to find a mistake or misjudgment the new President or his team has made and embrace it, highlight it with the media and the public. Credibility comes from being honest about the things you screw up. Taking responsibility, something Donald Trump told us out loud he never does, is the key to winning trust and restoring a common set of facts.

It's easy to say to the new press secretary: Promise you will never lie. The fact is the last four press secretaries have promised the truth and delivered everything but. The ability to be a trusted messenger for the President needs to be earned. And it's earned by telling the truth even when it's difficult and damaging to your team's interests.

It took Donald Trump less than four years to destroy the credibility of the Oval Office. He leaves us in a place where we don't trust the evidence right in front of our nose. He did this deliberately and my guess is he's quite proud of his work.

I hope everyone coming in to  the White House follows this advice.

I agree with this 100%.  When I was new at an old job I had made an error in a calculation of a report I wrote.

I went into the production meeting, passed out the corrected report, explaining it was my error and apologizing for the inconvenience.  Owner of the company said it was the first time anyone had ever admitted a mistake in a company meeting.  There is no better way to earn credibility than owning your own mistakes.

And for the people who don't do this....if any problem you have is never, ever your fault I assume it's always your fault.

Who wrote that speech?  It sure as hell wasn't Trump.  I'm shocked he was able to say it.  (I didn't see it first hand as I was too busy rage crying to watch the inauguration.)

Supposedly Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller.

Ex-Rays reliever Sean Gilmartin in a White House mess

Quote

Former Rays reliever Sean Gilmartin made another appearance that didn’t end well Wednesday.

Gilmartin went to see his wife, White House Press Secretary and Tampa native Kayleigh McEnany, at work and was called out by a photographer at the end of McEnany’s briefing for violating the rule requiring masks to be worn.

Here is the full account of the incident from the White House press pool report, as compiled (and updated) by Chris Johnson of the Washington Blade:

“Kayleigh McEnany’s husband, Sean Gilmartin, was present during the news briefing and in the rear of the briefing room and maskless. Nearby was a reporter with First Class Fatherhood, who was not part of the COVID-approved rotation, and at the end of the briefing (the reporter) shouted out, ‘You crushed it, Kayleigh!’

“New York Times photographer Doug Mills politely pointed out to Gilmartin rules requiring masks be worn in White House press areas. A White House staffer who was with Gilmartin said incredulously, ‘Kayleigh’s husband?’ The staffer and Gilmartin exited together as Mills restated the mask rules and said it doesn’t matter who he is.

“Mills later confirmed to pool Gilmartin was maskless for the entirety of the briefing and (Mills) was unaware of Gilmartin’s identity when pointing out the rules.”

Gilmartin pitched in two August games for the Rays during the 2020 season, posting an 8.31 ERA. He was dropped from and re-added to the roster several times and was a member of the 40-player pool for the postseason but not active for any of the playoff or World Series games. He was dropped again from the roster following the season and elected to enter free agency.

Gilmartin and McEnany told the Tampa Bay Times this past spring the couple mostly keeps their careers separate, though Gilmartin did appear on stage with his wife, holding their daughter, Blake, during President Donald Trump’s Oct. 29 rally in Tampa.

McEnany tested positive for COVID-19 in early October, but the Rays were not concerned of any spread to the team as Gilmartin had been in quarantine with the rest of the players in St. Petersburg and San Diego.

Even the dead are leftist elitists, entirely focussed on committing voter fraud in the USA. They’re all operating under the leadership of Karl Marx, intent on turning the world into an egalitarian socialist commie paradise!

Bon Jovi promised me I'll Sleep When I'm Dead.  Are you telling me that instead of a lovely eternal nap I'm going to have to haunt election cycles?

And since when do elitists want policies that support the greater good rather than themselves?  Or clean their own houses?  I am clearly doing elitism wrong.

Good gravy:

Enjoy it while it lasts Kayleigh.  In less than 50 days you'll be out of a job.  We'll have a press secretary that doesn't spout bullshit like "draconian restrictions" and the like.  You, on the other hand will be quickly forgotten by the public once fuck face is out of office.

Do the authorities allow you to have a spokesperson while you’re in prison? Asking for a friend ...

In all seriousness, I wonder whether she will cling to the Orange One once he‘s finally left the building - but while she’s clearly deluded about him, I think she also wants to keep some semblance of a career (if you can count spewing lies as a career) so maybe she’ll want to hitch her wagon to some other right-wing atrocity.

I don't know if she's deluded or just has no compunction about lying if she thinks it's best for her career.

Either way I see her scuttling over to Fox, if they'll have her, and she can become one of the many cookie cutter blondes I can't tell apart.  And if no offer perhaps OAN or Newsmax - especially if Trump acquires the latter.  The money is where the base is for these guys.

I can easily see her writing a book about how liberals hate her because she's a conservative Christian who stands for old-fashioned values.
