Oh Roseanne.

From my very own BT- last week she sent me a link to a YouTube video by 'American Intelligence Media' about uranium, and then asked why I would believe 'those women'. That's something rather personal to me, and it really upset me. I calmed myself down and told her let's just agree to disagree and not talk politics or anything related to it. She didn't respond to that, of course (because politics are more important than your relationship with your only child), but she was pretty quiet all week until yesterday. She's looking forward to the reunification of the Koreas, Clinton said that women were persuaded to vote by their fathers and sons, and she guesses Clinton and Pelosi (I'm assuming that's who she meant when she said 'Nancy') will use dementia as their defense when they're on trial.

Oh, also- apparently some videos will be coming out soon showing some people high up in the world doing bad things, and people will try to say they're fake, but you can't fake video. Of course, she won't tell me where she's getting any of this.

Still puzzled over how Trump came to be viewed as the savior of the world. Also puzzled over Republicans claiming 'leftist' everything is everywhere, when I haven't tried to talk politics with my mother since the election -- she's always the one that brings it up.

This is QAnon stuff. Does she have internet access, or close friends with internet access? The QAnon folks are dragging this stuff all over the internet, so even if you only go to supposedly safe places like gardening and craft forums, you can come into contact with the QAnon stuff. If she participates in any Christian forums, then that's a very likely source of where she came into contact with the QAnon folks. The blending of conservative Christianity and various conspiracy theories has really ramped up over the last few years, and the effects are very concerning.

One of the things the #QAnon folks believe, is that there's a huge pedophile ring being operated by some very powerful people. Earlier this year, they were very excited about the imminent release of a child porn video that would supposedly feature a woman that the conservatives all despise abusing children. Never mind the fact that viewing, possessing, or distributing such a video is a crime, they were all too excited about the idea of seeing their worst enemy brought to her knees to think about any possible consequences if such a video existed.

Man, it is taking me forever to catch up on everything after my vacation.  I don't know what the Q-anon stuff is yet (add that too the long lost of things to check out) but the mention of Roseanne reminded me of something I've been thinking about. 

 I haven't watched her new show yet, but I've heard about the premise. In theory I like the idea of showing the reality of a family with differing political views. I might even like the show, who knows.  The one worry I have is that I really don't need Trump views normalized. I don't need the Trumpvidians feeling encouraged.  I don't need them being any more mainstream than they already are. 

I don't care if Roseanne is funny if it just turns into the Entertainment Outreach arm of the BTs.

She does have Internet access! That makes a lot of sense, actually... she was talking about how the children will be avenged and asking if I think it's wrong to rape and kill kids (because obviously if you don't believe in conspiracy theories, you're okay with that sort of thing).

Thank you. Me too And yeah... I figured it had to come from the Internet, but I couldn't figure out what website! She has become pretty religious though. Don't understand how Trump represents a religious figure, but clearly there are some serious mental gymnastics going on there.
I sure do miss the days when the Internet was for nerds.

Roseanne Barr has always held some weird beliefs. Back in the 1990s, she claimed to have multiple personality disorder and that she was a victim of incest through recovered memories. Now, I trend towards believing victims of abuse, but any time someone claims to be a victim of ritual satanic abuse and/or to have just recovered memories in therapy, I assume that such a person is either lying or has had fake memories implanted in their minds by a bad therapist. With regard to the incest claims, Roseanne has backed back somewhat saying essentially, “I can’t say for sure if my parents sexually abused me, but I think something untoward happened.” My guess is that she’ll do the same thing with QAnon and Pizzagate in ten years when Republicans have airbrushed Trump out of history like they did with GWB.

The QAnon folks had a march on Saturday. I've pulled some tweets from a sane observer to cover the highlights. I'll warn you upfront that QAnon folks individually believe in all sorts of nuttery, so when they all come together, the insanity grows exponentially

Hmm. I wonder if my mom knew about the march!

Last week she sent me a speech by JFK about transparency, etc. Of course, the speech was claimed to have been given 7 days before he was assassinated because everything is part of a plot. It blew my mind -- I mean, Trump is not transparent, and yet his supporters are clamoring for transparency...?

It took some mental gymnastics, but I reached a theory and shared it with her, and she said 'yes and no'. In short: Trump is saving the world by going after these bad people, but he can't be open about it because then he would be assassinated. She kept saying it wasn't political, it's Good vs. Evil. Democrats just happen to be more evil.

She also told me that this month, Internet and cell phones will go down for an undetermined amount of time.

I looked up the whole QAnon thing and yeah, I can see why she didn't want to reveal her source. I'm not really inclined to believe an anonymous source on 4chan.

Funnily enough, her computer has been down for over a week and they apparently removed some viruses from it. I can't imagine how she got those!

In one of his posts, Q talked about a pro-JFK prayer that is supposedly recited everyday in the Oval Office. After that, I started noticing that a bunch of QAnon folks/bots were tweeting positive things about JFK.

Ohh okay. I was wondering when this JFK stuff came from! Though... she just told me a few days ago that the Pope is evil and she's so glad one of my Catholic cousins left the church. Wasn't JFK Catholic? 

I was doing a little messaging on Instagram and noticed that everytime I logged on, it showed her as active. I'm pretty sure that's part of the problem; I checked out the accounts she's been sending me meme's from. It's extremely weird to me that people think that stuff is legit. I never thought I'd say this, but... I think she spends too much time on the Internet.

Thank you for the sympathy. She's always been... well, herself, but it really intensified after 9/11, and since Trump it's just been worse. :\

Yup. He faced some rather ugly discrimination because some people thought that a Catholic president would mean that the Pope was running our country. I guess since Q has implied that Trump is saying prayers about JFK, the QAnon folks are all now supposed to like JFK, even if they are personally opposed to Catholicism.
