Seewalds 14- Baby can I hold you tonight?

Fostering to adoption is certainly possible. Usually those children are older. You can be fostering, hoping to adopt and lose the child for many reasons such as a closer blood relative is found. Not sure what the rules are regarding bio kids' ages, probably depends on the state. You do have to have enough room, 3' between beds. Pretty sure the Duggars' triple decker bunks wouldn't work. You also need an income.

see this is probably the reason she wants a bigger home.  Finally

new season they go house hunting and we get to see it.  And because Jessa earns on instagram does that count as an income?  so they can get a house for $600,000 and because I am procrastinating they can get a five bedroom 4000 sq ft house for $500,000 in their area :D

sounds nice

In the new people magazine Mary tyler Moore on the cover - the Duggar Daughters are on a tiny cover

Jessa says she still wants to adopt (right don't you have to be not pregnant - good luck with that)

and they dont'' have a name (yes we believe you )

She wants a three bedroom house

She had better ask daddy for some money or a housing upgrade.

Okay, I'm throwing my guesses into the Seemonkey birthing pool.  This guarantees the poor little babe won't fulfill any of them. :P

February 9  (4 days overdue...wasn't Spud also 4 days overdue?)

9 lbs. 15 oz.  (big baby like Spud)

Girl named Selah Gwyn (gotta honor Ben's mom, but also gotta attempt to be tryndy)

21.5 in.

But -- if it's a boy, then Wycliffe Calvin (Spurgeon didn't have a normal first name. Neither can this kid.)

----------

ETA: I see I'm now partaking of Hell's cocktail! What more appropriate than something with fireball whiskey or cinnamon schnapps in it? Surprise me.

oh my God, I once had a dream that TLC decided to change the format of the show to a WWE style wrestling show, and all the Duggars were given wrestler personas and names (sadly, I don't remember any of them), and all the matches were going to take place in their living room/kitchen area. It was super, super weird. They all had "modest" costumes and everything.

That I would totally watch! Can you pitch it to TLC? Please! :)

In the video of Spurgeon laughing I noticed on his water bottle it has his name written on it.  Does anyone else think that is strange? I could see why if they were over at Jessa's parents house (so many little kids), but why at their own house? Unless they had just come from the Duggar's place. Anyway, just something that caught my eye.

When my daughter went to daycare, her cups (well, bottles at the time) needed to be labelled and half the time I didn't bother to peel them off. Could just be leftover from when he was somewhere else.

Using my nonexistent psychic powers  I think that once Jessa has two children under two if she talks adoption she is lying. She had Joy I'm sure to help with Spurgeon. Now Joy is otherwise occupied so she has Hannie some of the time, but Hannie can't drive over. And Bin is supposed to be doing great things online. Ha.

Or maybe there really is enough help. When the second child arrives with two that young the game changes.

Forgot to mention that there is a thorough background check, including FBI, home inspection and monthly visits from a social worker. Shots must be up to date, regular dental visits and the child must to to school. SOTDRT does not count, at least in my state.

I did foster care and adoption casework in two different states (IL and PA) for a number of years.   I can say in all honesty that any potential adoptive family who told me they weren't planning to send the child to a real school would have been a serious concern for me regarding their suitability as adoptive parents.

I live in Canada, but my friend adopted a child and made known that he would be home schooled.  My friend had a university education however and had home schooled her older child, who had applied for and been accepted at several universities so that might have been a consideration.

Absolutely!  Always mitigating circumstances to consider.  I would have less outright concern here than, say, Jessa and Ben's SOTDRT, which would alarm me to no end.

Not just this, but I'm putting my money on that this second baby won't be nearly as "easy" of a baby as Spurgie. They've had it too good for too long.

My dad cares about carrying on the family name, as his brother passed with no children and all of his sisters took their husbands' names, and he only has two girls. Except his response to this was not to treat my sister and I like we weren't important, instead he encouraged us to keep our own names.
It's no secret he wanted a boy, but I never felt "less than" because of that. My mother and I almost died during my birth and he went out and got a vasectomy,  and then taught me how to throw a football, bought me my very first (pink) toolkit, taught me how to climb trees and then use an ax to cut them down, etc. I wanted to be a cheerleader so he signed up to coach. He bought a book on how to braid hair (and promptly tied my hair in knot), he showed up to every dance recital, and starred in the community theatre show with me because I wanted to do it, but had stage fright.

I am sad that there are so many women posting here who had different experiences and dads who were unable to change their views on the "perfect" child. [emoji20]

My dad had no issues about any of it. I was also taught to throw a football, hit a baseball, change a tire, etc...

It was only his parents who had an issue.

I think it is in the best Interests of Ben and Jessa's little family to have help from family members if that help is available. Life should be like that. It would lessen the stress of having two young children. I certainly did not have it....and many, or most actually do not. It is really for the children. Living in that cult the children will have enough to deal with, especially if it is a girl. Ain't I clever.

Three bedrooms work. One for sweet fellowship, a boy's room, and a girl's room.

Sigh.

And the sweet fellowship room will definitely have a lock and the kids will know not to go in there. I mean, if they are following the lovely Duggar way! :P

she also mentioned fostering to adoption

so perhaps fostering it doesn't matter how old or how pregnant she is

so we have new information

Actually, yeah, it would matter. The department would want to make sure that the Seewalds had the ability to care for the child they wanted to adopt, and it's very hard to balance having a newly adopted child and a biological newborn. It's not impossible to do, but I don't think young and inexperienced parents would be the ideal candidate to take a risk on.

It's very common that a child adopted from foster care is required to be the youngest child in the household, and even where there's no firm rule it is strongly recommended to try not to disrupt birth order.

Many jurisdictions also have a requirement that the child and the parent must have a certain age difference between them to ensure the relationship is actually parent/child rather than peer/peer.

I don't think Jessa and Ben have a clue about foster care adoption or would ever put in the effort to pursue it to completion. Which is good, because foster children would eat those two soft adultolescents alive.

are there no foster babies? is it strictly children above the age of 4?

There are plenty of infants in foster care, but it is very rare for them to be available to be adopted. A child has to be in foster care for 15 out of 22 of the previous months for involuntary termination of parental rights to be initiated, and TPR is not a fast process. The majority of infants are reunified with their biological families, and those who are not are almost always adopted as toddlers (or older) by their current foster parents.

Very rarely a voluntarily relinquished infant may be available to adopt through the foster system, but there is high demand for babies and a pair of young and inexperienced parents with two biological infants are unlikely to be chosen.

Jessa and Ben could certainly foster babies, but adoption would be unlikely and it seems like adoption is their primary goal, rather than caring for children temporarily till their families get back on their feet.

For the record, I include the under four kids when I say foster children would eat the Seewalds alive. Traumatized toddlers can be very challenging because they don't have the verbal or processing skills to work through their emotions.

The comment about the 3-bedroom house definitely has me thinking that they know a girl is on the way. If it were another boy, wouldn't they just house him with S.Elliot when he's old enough? Then again, odds are by that time Jessa will be pregnant again at that point, and whether or not baby#3 is a girl, they will need bigger bedrooms eventually if they plan to house the kids dorm-style.

She said that they would need a bigger house with the 3rd kid, not this one.

I guessed she was having a boy but a few days ago I had a dream it was a girl.
