Counting On Season Two- Part 3

Today I got bored and started watching old episodes and it was totally obvious that Josh never loved Anna, they just tried to marry him off to cure his problems. It was heartbreaking to watch.

I'm pretty sure it would have been more interesting to watch michelle interact with the random people in the airport for an hour during the delay.

Also, why were they flying to dallas to go to philly? Um.... how about you fly in the correct direction?  A re route to atlanta or chicago would have made more sense!

I'm going to guess they had to fly to Dallas because it's a hub. I almost always have to fly to Chicago/Newark/Charlotte/Dallas/BWI to get to places that aren't necessarily close to those places.

FYI- dumbest flight I ever took: Indianapolis- Kansas City (stay on plane- a few ppl got off & a few got on)- Dallas- Panama City Beach, Florida.

JB oozes creepy at all times. There are no adequate words to describe how disgusting he really is.

Here here! I thought he was odd from the get go. Always slobbering over Meechelle. Always holding her arm. That strange leer he does instead of smiling. The leer doesn't reach his eyes. The non-jokes. The way he shoved his way in between  between Jill and Derick then put his arm on Jill's back.

He has no off button. I haven't seen the latest shows just clips. ( we always behind in the UK). When  JinJer were with their parents in the Mexican shop in Laredo he grabbed a small basket and shoved it on Jeremy's head. Why! Just why? Normal fathers just wouldn't do that to their soon-to-be son-in-laws.

His holy Boobiness really is an odd one.

I have to say. I think John-David would be a great husband. He's hard work, kind and resourceful.

I think you may be right and I think that secretly he may be a bit more immune from the kool-aid that his parents spout.

Idk JBs ormal antics seemed really forced and sad in that episode with Jeremy in Laredo. I can't figure out what was different. Idk if it's Jeremy seeming to be less intimidated by himor maybe he's actually getting some self awareness and tlc is encouraging him to play his normal part. Maybe hes depressed or actually tired of filming the show snd the public reaction to everything. I just don't know why everyone keeps forcing this show. It's just kind of depressing me tonight.

Wait! Why they advertise the guys? It is their job to go after the girls and talk to the dads, right? Shouldn't they just get off their servant butts and find a girl?Or are they hoping fundie dads will respond by sending JB photos of their available brood mares?

Guys, there are girls out there. Even godly, servanthearted brunettes who can become your twins best friend. Now go find them, take the film crew while you are at it and give us an episode worth watching.

TLC, how about a Gothard speedcourting episode?

I think in someway JD got out of doing a lot of stuff. He wasn't the first born son so the pressure to be perfect & example to his younger brothers was not on him he wasn't a girl so he wasn't expected to cook & clean. So he kind of made his own path.

It's probably easier for outside guys to court a Duggar daughter than it is for a Duggar son to find a prospective wife. The J'boys have to make the first move to the fathers, and I doubt they know that courtable women/girls. Marjorie's family seems to have been a long-time Duggar leghumper family, but I wonder if their local leghumpers are drifting away with all the scandals. 19KAC always made a big deal about showing that the J'slaves had outside friends and interests, but they never did the same for the boys, except for that one time they showed the howlers on some kind of junior ALERT camping trip that TLC tried to spin as simply Boy Scouts with more god. Between Josh dragging the family name in in the mud and the "flip phones of shame," I don't know where the J'boys would even begin to find a prospective wife, since they're never allowed near any non-related females.

If you take the horrible Gothard Cult shit out of the mix...

What a great group of young people. Such promise, ruined for them by Jboob and Meechelle, who take away their chances for education and real life experiences.

I can't get over asking a father for permission to date and get to know each other.  Giving a chaperone a list of rules makes my brain hurt.  I was loving that front hug between JinJer :tw_tounge_wink:

I wish we could see a copy of the courtship guidelines/rules that Jill and Derick printed for their chaperones. That would be some serious snark-worthy material. I don't remember that from their courtship episodes.

Those pics of Joe licking his teeth .... I keep thinking of Pornstache from OITNB. The 80s stache and the creepy vibes... :brainbleach:

Hello #7. Meet Joe. He's got a lot of great qualities. He has been to fundie cult boot camp where he learned lots of different skill sets and became a man. He's sweet. And caring. He wants a lover who loves Jesus and who can take care of him. Any takers?!

Anyone else think Joe has ZERO personality and that the creeper stache has to go? Just ugh.

Omg throwback to Jessa/Bin courting like the clip where he's helping them clean the trees I guess I blocked the awkwardness. Also just a general question to you all that have in laws, do you guys call them mom/dad or their names? Just cause I realized I've gotten the vibe that Ben and Derrick call them mrs./mr. duggar.

I heard Jill call Cathy by her name or Miss Cathy. Josh called Anna's dad Mr. Keller. Jessa called Ben's mom Guinn.

Yep, the only direct flights from here are Vegas, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, and like 3 times a week Charlotte & Orlando. SUCKS.

When they were talking about Joe's preferences for a mate it seemed that all the siblings were in agreement that Joe would be attracted to a short brunette country girl who talked a lot and had a good sense of humor and style.  It's almost like they had someone specific in mind.  Carlin Bates perhaps?  Sorry, don't mean to start up that speculation again.

Speaking if Guinn, I still LOVE the face she made when they were planning the wedding and Meechelle says "By next year we could have grandbabehs!!"

Also going off with the flight, I've actually done the Philly-->Dallas direct flight twice, but one of them was Philly-->Dallas-->Tokyo. Also, as I'm watching now with Josiah, they don't talk about Majorie at all? and they haven't at all since counting on started right?

This series has turned into a bunch of flashbacks. I mean, flashbacks of 2 episodes ago.

This was an interesting family when it was a novelty. Now it's just jobless young adults who are self righteous and whole some and not particularly interesting doing normal things and repeating the same crap over and over. Why am I supposed to care about these boys? "Im 26 and a Duggar." No shit. We know that. I do not understand why this is on tv. I can't finish this. And that says a lot.

And I complain because there's so many ways this could be interesting. Life with 20 kids of various ages. Young couple starting new adventures. Breaking free from a cult. But this? This is lazy tv.

I think the main reason for the Dallas destination was so they could all fly together.  Secondly, plot line/drama over *possibly* missing a flight.

This is not drama-inducing.  Gosh, so they might have missed each other in Dallas.... chances are there are more flights to Philly over the next 24 hours.  Get on one and he can pick you up tomorrow :)

And I hear you, @allthegoodnamesrgone on having limited flight choices.

And Michelle was right. They did become grandmothers by next year.

Well to be fair Josh did sing a song at the wedding that said: I'll do my best, to be faithful and true!

So, guess that's why he chose that song. As for J&A's wedding I felt so bad for Anna from the dress that her bridesmaids were outdoing her in their handmade ones, to the crunchy ramen looking hair... poor thing deserves a do over. Seriously though, I don't like modesty necessarily but the dresses the Duggar girls wore were just lovely.

Jeremy: If you're in a long distance relationship, keep your phone charged.

No shit, Sherlock.

Keep digging, Watson.

Sorry, my late dad used to say this all the time and I couldn't resist the urge to make him proud.

Carry on dear FJ goddesses!
