Jessa Duggar Seewald - Part 4

happy atheist

Only option? Lots of unskilled and uneducated, young people before these two, have figured it out and they will too. First, they need to accept that the easy money is a thing of the past. Next, take a couple of deep breaths apiece, and then make a plan. Ben should be looking for work. He's done insurance and the windshield repair business, and now that he's armed with an AA degree, he should be able to find an entry level job someplace-

Yep, it sucks to go from easy money and media attention to an entry level, having to show up for work every day position, but job opportunities generally match skill sets and educational background.

It's happened to far, far bigger celebrities than any one of the Duggars. How many times do you hear of someone who was huge a decade or more ago but is now waiting tables or adjusting automobile insurance claims at Geico?

Once the shock of it all wears off, Bin and Derick will go back to being whatever they were probably going to be before they met their wives.

Wonder which guy brings up the birth control issue to his wife first?

Ben reminds me a bit of Courtney Stodden.

omg this cracked me up! Like I totally get what you were saying but just the visual of them side by side

18 hours ago the Seewalds uploaded their entire wedding to their youtube channel (

). Funnily enough, TLC has already flagged it for copyright, and the audio is muted!

That is truly, deliciously hilarious

I'm sure a lot of the flagging is automatically done. But it makes me curious as to what rights TLC has over the Duggars still and what exactly their contract states they can and cannot do.

As much as I am not a fan of the family, I do sort of think Jessa or Jill for that matter, should at least be granted the rights to any filming of their weddings. Yes, it was a big publicity event, but still, it was their wedding. (and I am not even all that sentimental about weddings for the most part)

If Jessa and Ben are trying to have a bit of distance from the family, I think that is great, but I suspect this is less motivated by her maturing and realizing her family is a dysfunctional fundie nightmare, as much as they are just looking for way to pay for their future.

That is what happens when you sell your event for $$$.

Jessa posted a new bump picture on Instagram. Someone commented "You like the only normal one in that family get out when you can". lol

Could Jessa be gearing up to post the birth on her youtube channel? Is that even allowed or have to be carefully edited. I think she is (or has to) find a way to make some dollars off this pregnancy to live on.

Jessa has no idea how to use youtube... she posted the same exact comment like 10 times on her video. Which I find funny because if this is how they want to support themselves, at least figure out what you're doing!!

Someone actually commented on her video "can you post the birth on here that would be such a blessing" lol so maybe she actually will.. though I doubt she would post the whole thing with all the gory details, but probably some video update after the baby and her are all done up.

Ha! I'm getting an amazing picture of a baby version of Frazier's wife. And ya, she'd rip the satellite bow off her head and give a withering glare before crawling off the blanket.

I'm laid up with a cold so don't be lovin' on this Georgia gal [emoji48]. I just popped in between NyQuil shots to note Michael Seewald's rant is an interesting change from beating up educated women and Catholics. I think it's really code for 'I'm pissed off because I pimped my firstborn out to a family that's now the face of religious hypocrisy and I won't get to preen in baby pics like the Middletons' [emoji48][emoji48][emoji48][emoji48][emoji48][emoji48]

It is also a lot of work filming and editing videos every day, so I am not sure if they would actually be able to pull it off.

Well that's the Duggars in a nutshell, isn't it. They have never shown themselves to be particularly hardworking or motivated to learn. Bin is an unknown quantity so maybe he will push Jessa into a Vlogging career. However, and this is a big roadblock, they are going to have to turn fundie lite if they want to make the big bucks. Right now they come across as too judgmental to appeal to their natural fan base (20-somethings.)

I still think that if Jessa could cut all ties with her family she could have a TV career. Start with a tell-all and renounce her cult-like upbringing and then go on Dancing with the Stars (after the baby, of course) and whatever other shows the Reality TV people are doing these days. I would love to see her and Bin on The Amazing Race! I think her personality (slightly cool/snooty) and looks would go over very well.

Of course that will never happen because it looks like the Seewalds are intent on being a super Christian couple, with all of the Bible waving and judgmental attitude that goes with it.

They should go on Big Brother! Hahahah, they would not last!

Why would TLC have rights to only the audio? I'd think the video would be taken down over a copyright issue.

FSM knows my tastes in tv don't match up with the general public, but I can't imagine Jessa and Ben succeeding with their own tv show. Their own youtube channel, definitely, if they can get their act together enough to produce a polished product, but not tv.

Ok, I freely admit that I would literally watch that youtube channel. I would rate AND subscribe. Literally.

Birth Vlogs are very popular on youtube. Many vloggers document every aspect of pregnancy, and these videos usually have a lot of views. If Jessa was smart she would start doing weekly pregnancy updates as this is a very popular genre of videos on youtube.

I doubt that Jill and Jessa will get a network TV, but it is very likely that Jessa and Ben will create their own youtube "reality show". 18 hours ago the Seewalds uploaded their entire wedding to their youtube channel (
). Funnily enough, TLC has already flagged it for copyright, and the audio is muted!

Hey, thanks for the link! I missed the wedding.

I really like Ben's mom's dress. A++ Would wear myself. But I had a very weird moment wondering how Steve Carell got invited to the wedding and why he was escorting the mother of the groom.

What exactly could Jill or Jessa vlog about on Youtube that would bring in money on an ongoing basis? The people making millions are actually providing a product others want. The girls giving makeup tips are actually really good at it and I can understand people wanting to watch. Jessa just wants to be Michelle 2.0. She doesn't actually do anything but be praised for existing. There are a million people giving parenting tips so why would they watch a vlog from Jessa about being a new mother? Do we need another episode about a trip to the dentist or buying food for two people and a baby? I am not sure that the leghumpers are actually going to put out a significant amount of money to watch Jessa. They may watch for free on cable or read her posts but putting out money is another thing. I enjoy watch a lot of tv shows but there aren't any I would pay specifically to watch. Neither Jessa nor Ben are particularly charming so it isn't as though their personalities will make up for their lack of viable product.

Jessa wanting to be Michelle 2.0 is plenty good enough for a successful youtube channel if she's got enough charisma to pull it off. I am inexplicably drawn to watching videos from a young mom who makes terrible mate choices. If I were to list out the deets, she would not only seem banal but downright distasteful, yet... I like watching her videos because she just has that way about her. So if this "nobody" who just posts videos of her raising her kids in a normal, dysfunctional household can make her enough money to live on, then Jessa fuckin' Duggar can totally make youtube work for her. I do question if she's interesting enough to keep it going on for long though... she's pretty bland.

This video looks like it was filmed by the Duggars and not the TLC crew, but some of the audio would have been part of the show, so that is where the audio claim comes in. It says on the video that there was a copyright claim by the copyright holder, which I don't think is automatic because there are a ton of episodes from the show uploaded to youtube, which are not flagged. I think TLC may be monitoring their account to make sure they are not posting content from the show. It will be interesting to see what their contract says about the wedding videos. David and Priscilla uploaded their whole wedding video to youtube, and I think their wedding was also on 19 Kids and Counting, right?

[quote="

the video looks different from what they showed - camera angles - amy licking her lips, ben's aunt singing, ben giving jessa a look at the alter because she wasn't looking at him but to someone else (that was an interesting look)

Actually, there are a ton of daily vlog channels that just post videos of their lives without providing products. Most youtube channels are not riveting entertainment or even that productive. Heck one of the most profitable youtube channels is literally a headless woman opening toy boxes (http://bzfd.it/1L8EA8j).

I am not saying it will be worthwhile content, but youtube is free to watch, so many fans of the Duggar show would certainly watch if they do a youtube version of the reality show. Jessa, in particular, has a large social media following, and has monetized her instagram with paid posts, so I can see her being able to do the same on youtube-- if they can actually figure it out.

So far, Ben has a pretty bad Christian interview show on the channel, and they will have to step up their game if they want to actually make it work. The only popular videos he has so far are the ones Jessa has promoted on social media. If they hire the right consultant they might be able to produce a popular show, but I am not sure if they would be willing to put in the work. I am also uncertain if Ben is willing to let Jessa be the star because without her being front and centre no one will watch.

I also wanted to note that there may be an issue with their TLC contract. I've not done research into how TLC operates with their talent, but I know Bravo makes their reality stars sign long-term contracts that prevent them from doing other media ventures without the permission of Bravo, even if the talent leaves the show. Bravo does not even let its talent do media interviews without permission. Certainly, Jessa and Jill would not be able to do a reality show on another network for at least 1-3 years. Youtube may also be a problem, as it is interesting to note that while Ben posts regular videos of himself on the channel, Jessa does not appear. The copyright claim may be power play from TLC to prevent them from starting their own show. This is purely speculation but it is something to consider.

I assume you are talking about GabeandJess? She was a teen mother who has four kids by two different fathers and is now on her third partner and second marriage. Her latest wedding video on youtube, posted two weeks ago, has over 100,000 views. Her Labour and Delivery video has over 2 million hits. I agree, if an unknown unmarried teen mother can become a youtube sensation, Jessa can certainly have a successful channel. I also agree that Jessa will have to step it up on the personality front, but I think on 19 Kids and Counting, she was a lot more likeable with Ben. I thought their Honeymoon special was actually pretty fun to watch, and they are for sure much sexier than J&M and even J&D. Although they will have to shut up about abortion and creationism if they want to make their videos popular.

I got to admit that I really wished that the audio wasn't flagged. It actually looks like it could be more interesting then what was aired at least for snark value. Also I am kinda doubting that it was filmed by duggar studios.

I almost spit out my sprite. Also, I'm really glad I'm not the only one who sees a resemblance. That and Derrick looks like BJ Novak, IMO.

I'm hoping that means there's a Moderate Christian Jim Halpert out there for Jana.
