Joseph Maxwell is MARRIED!!!

I am dying to know how the conversations with the real photographer went: "See, my fiance's brother is a wedding photographer too and he'll be taking some pictures..." I've never met a wedding photographer who would tolerate someone else playing photographer with all the posed pictures, group shots, ceremony close-ups, etc.--number one, the interloper gets in the way, and number two, it cuts into the real photographer's bottom line. There's no way to stop people taking snapshots with their phones but it's clear that Christopher was acting in every way as the wedding photographer.

Oh, and that picture of a wide-stance Joseph standing alone on the altar, presumably before the ceremony, gives me the creeps.

I too would love to know just how that got arranged. You'd think the Maxwells would just say "well, Christopher is the photographer we want" and be happy with only him, considering that he has the commercial site and all. So I suppose her family said no, we have someone else? Or?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Who took the photos for Christopher's Nuptials O' Death, anyway? I watched it live but I don't recall the picture taking. Sarah?

Sarah is average but not unattractive. However, in the last few posts she has really looked terrible. Did she lose weight? She looks old. Personally, I find Anna hideous. She needs to stop grinning. Her hair is always off an her shirt never matches the skirt. Now Mary, she is pretty.

I do wish Elissa had worn some makeup. Just something to give her more of a glow, some blush, some mascara, some gloss. A brushing of those eyebrows. And since I am being a total bitch, she has hairy arms.

I noticed that, too. BUT, I have suffered them all my life and because I was teased as a child about them, grew up never EVER wearing short sleeves. Kids are mean. And there's not much you can do about them aside from bleach or waxing and you're not going to do that to your 5yo daughter, so I just had to live with it. My wedding dress was long-sleeved in September and it was 70 degrees that day. No hairy arms in my wedding photos!

It looks like she may have worn some mascara. I think she's pretty enough without makeup. She's got some great features, but I think her FIL would have had a coronary what with all the other liberties she took (form-fitting gown, wore a necklace, high heels, a CROWN on her head!).

Joseph did. He did a fairly good job, IIRC, you know not being the "professional" that Christopher "is". NR-Anna looks terrified in most of them, and she probably was (along with being incredibly uncomfortable with all eyes on her, but such is the nature of weddings).

Silly people, Joe is the headship. If he says Chris takes the pictures, then that's final! Elissa must learn to obey! Her only option is to pray that God will tell Joe she wants xyz.

1. See, fundies? It IS possible to have a modest wedding dress that is lovely AND fits well!

2. I've seen many sets of wedding photos which included black-and-white or sepia prints, and they almost always look beautiful and artistic. Christopher's, on the other hand, simply look as if all the life has been bled out of the shot. His pics look like snapshots that I could have taken myself, and I'm a lousy photographer.

Does this bride have a mother? I know she does, but there are no close-ups of her. Usually the mother of the bride is featured in photos, especially walking down the aisle, but we only see the mother of the groom being escorted down the aisle.

I noticed that too.

In Maxwell land you are only important if your last name is Maxwell.

I'm afraid if any of the girls do marry, there will be few pictures and updates on them. They will be less than 'extended family'.

Honestly, it bothers me that twice now, Sarah has commented on how much Jesse's singing voice sounds like Joseph's (and I'm inferring she means it's a good thing). You don't have to recreate things to be exactly as they were before Joe got married. If you have to reinvent the "family band" a little because Jesse brings a new sound...oh noes?

Well, considering the subjects...

I wonder why someone in another state would pay Christopher to travel to photograph their wedding? Surely it's not hard to find wedding photographers? Every fundie SAHD seems to consider herself a profesional photographer, there must be plenty around.

It's just someone's speculation that the woman is the "real" photographer. She is a woman taking pictures with an expensive camera at a wedding. She could be a relative, a helpful church member or someone helping Christopher out so he can enjoy his brother's wedding.

Elissa's wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses were actually very nice. Maybe the best I have seen for a fundy wedding, sans the white shoes for the bridesmaids. Finally a fundy wedding were there is actually a buffet. I am going to guess that the reason the wedding seems so well done is because it was Elissa and her family planned it.

I see a number of pictures of Elissa and her mom. They look very much a like. When I looked at Christopher's pictures on my phone they looked great. Once I looked on the computer I could see the problems everyone mentioned. I wish someone would tell Christopher that it is ok to photograph people from less than 20 feet away.

Has anyone actually heard the Maxwells sing? I swear they are always singing and I wonder if they can actually carry a tune or are tone deaf like the Duggars. Also, does anyone know why you are not allowed to be part of the family band or help out at the conferences once you get married? It seems to me there might be interest in fundy circles to show the results of all that homeschooling, courting and insolating of children. I mean, the Maxwells are so proud of the outcome. I would think they would use it for more seminars.

Yes, I have heard them sing. Live. They began with "I'll Fly Away." With all my heart, I wished I could fly away!!!!

They're better instrumentalists than vocalists. It was the very worst when Stevovah took his turn at a solo.

I'm no professional, and hit my share of sharps and flats way more often than I'd like. And commonsense thus prevents me from performing solos in concert. Had the Maxwells more commonsense, I wouldn't have their sour notes in my memory indefinitely. :embarrassed:

Oy. About halfway through, I started mentally superimposing the Teamocil song over the actual video. Much better that way. Plus if it were a real product, it might kind of explain Steve's grip on the family.

I've seen that before and honestly can't make it through the whole video before my ears bleed, but if anything stands out to me in terms of talent, it's John on the banjo. That's a difficult instrument so I'm impressed by him. But the howling/singing is awful, and this is one of their better performances, I think, sadly.

Why oh why does Christopher insist on deliberately washing the colour out of his photographs? It's not artsy and creative, it looks like exactly what it is - an average photo with the colours washed out.

What a terrible sound. Stevehovah sounds especially bad but then it's not surprising he'd hog the mike - he's as delusional about his singing as he is everything else. Surprised that Steve hasn't had YouTube take down this video for copyright violation.

And you wisenheimers from FJ (you know who you are) - great comments at YouTube!

Thank goodness someone finally said it. When everyone talks about how attractive Sarah is, I'm always thinking 'What am I missing...?'

People who have met the girls have said they are all pretty but don't photograph well, though I think that is just kindness on behalf of Anna. A lot of it's taste, too. I think Joshua is a weird looking kid (Nathan's girls are adorable) and people keep saying he's cute. I think he looks like a spoiled brat in the ring bearer picture. But some people think he is cute.

Young Mr Frost (?presumably) looks quite cute. And his expression in the stupid jumping photo says it all. I wonder if he's courting?

I thought he looked weird in the ring bearer picture too. I think he's both cute and ugly. Babies are good at that.

Pictures of Joseph and Elissa labeled "friends?" Friends?! It seems Steve has changed his tune from the Elizabeth Munck days. Back then when people asked if Joseph was really marrying a complete stranger Steve snotted that it wasn't at all necessary for people to be friends before they married - it was in fact totally undesirable for purity reasons - and The Lord would make them develop a friendship and fall in love after the ceremony.

Why the change, Steve? And are you planning to explain to your followers who have been doing it the other way why friendship is a good idea now? You can't just hand down these pronouncements about how people must live their lives and then reverse them with no explanation. For one thing, it makes your theology look ad hoc and disorganized. For another, the Maxwell followers who are trying to model their lives on yours (as you tell them they should during your conferences) must be bewildered at all these changes you're making and would like some explanation. While you're at it, please also tell is why contrasting buttons were sexy defrauding eye traps when Sarah was a teen but aren't anymore now that Mary is one. I'd love to know more about that.

I think Anna is a terrible singer, so why they picked her for a solo is beyond me.

When is her solo? I already listened twice and missed it and don't wanna have to listen all the way through again...

Also, are they trying to be cute and jokey at the 1 minute mark when Steve sort of starts pointing to the boys and some take tentative steps forward and then back again and no one is near the microphone? It just comes off as really disorganized and unprofessional. I expect the Maxwells to be uncreative and weird, but I do have high expectations in terms of organization and North Korean parade level synchronicity.
