Meri is so annoying. Why does she now complain that once Mariah is gone, she'll have no children to care for? She had the chance to have another baby, and decided not to do it. Be at peace with that choice, and move on. She could always help care for Robyn, Jenelle and Christine's kids. She also cries at the graduation because she can't see Mariah. Like they're going to spotlight every kid. Meri needs to grow up.

She could actually get a job!!!! Leave the closet to Robyn, it's her baby any way.

I think Christine and Janelle should grab their kids and run like the wind! Leave doufas to Whinny and Whinny Jr. :nenner:

I thought it was interesting in the last episode how Cody's two "non-religious guy friends" were saying "My wife and I are equal, but I make all the decisions" and questioning how Cody can be a man if he's surrounded by women. Cody responds that he doesn't have to prove what a leader he is (woo-hoo) because he just leads by telling the wives how it's going to be (um, what?). Other than for religious reasons, I cannot fathom how somebody would want to live this way. It also seemed like Cody's friend had re-evaluated all the tenants of his religion but chose to keep all the patriarchy. Wonder why (sarcasm).

I did not understand his friends. I thought one of them said he is now an "atheist"? The wife that went to the zoo was different, too. She seemed to have zero understanding of the sister wives concept. Makes me wonder when was the last time Kody had any contact with these guys? And, off subject, why did Robyn tag along if she's not an "animal" person? Really.

The wrestling mat thing just makes no sense. So, Kody is such a great wrestler he will coach his sons to wrestling fame???

I can't believe no one has mentioned the insanity of them throwing some sort of recommitment party at that fancy event center for $10,500! Kody thinks that college loans are irresponsible but thinks lavish parties are a great use of money THEY DON'T HAVE!

No kidding - talk about not being good stewards. However, I agree with a previous poster that this is just an "opportunity" for a local business to get advertising. Seems to me the "party" they throw could be at one of the new homes - perhaps Meri's since it sounds like it might be a "wetbar" kind of party.

Wetbar.

Wetbar.

Wetbar.

Sorry just had to get it out of my system.

I kind of hate this show now, but I must watch. What's wrong with me?

Poor Meri, being an empty nester, even though there are what, 15 kids still at home that she is also supposed to be a mother to? Like someone else said, she could also get a job. Oh, I don't know my place any more. Try actually helping the rest of your family.

Pretty much everything Kody does bothers me.

And Robyn, I'm not an animal person, but I will go to the zoo!

At least there were only a few clips of crying this time.

Me, too. I always like Janelle so much, but then she is there...I like to think that she's just biding her time until her kids are old enough that she doesn't think they need the extended family. And her mom was married to Kody's father but since his is now deceased that tie is gone. She is quite open that she doesn't like Meri and her body language--and things she has said in the past--indicate she just thinks of Robyn as some kind of gnat. She's working on her health, working on her own real estate business, and I sure hope she intends to fly the coup--and maybe take Christine with her--as soon as she thinks her youngest ones don't need the big family anymore.

Plus she can't have been oblivious to the crap mother's day present she got--the kind of thing an 8-year-old picks out for grandma--while Robyn got an expensive present.

I don't have access to recent episodes, so can you tell what the sister wives received for Mother's Day?

Robyn got a decorative clock, Janelle a tile that says"I kiss better than I cook," meri got a collage photo frame, and Christine got a large bowl.

I know it sounds really lame. They were thrilled.

I used to really like meri but in this episode I couldn't stand her, the way she reacted when one of the other mothers suggested that she help out of her pocket pissed me off. She has one child to help with school and she has to have a car. She needs to not be so damn selfish or tell her daughter she cant go there.

I don't know..I'm starting to think we are underestimating Meri in SOME aspects. If I were her, I'd fight to keep my "allowance" just as it is, and use it to help Mariah with college. All of the kids may be all of "theirs", but she truly only has one. I'd do whatever it took for my own before the others.

I get that, and can understand that even. But, when Kody suggested that, she had a fit. She thinks she shouldn't be 'punished' b/c she only has one child. After all she *wanted* eight.

Ok, I'm sorry she had secondary infertility. But, face reality. You have ONE child. And she wants to go to a super expensive college while the other kids are all going to in state universities. So give up some money and help out a little more. Deal with it. Geez.

The problem is that polygamy is fundamentally a communal lifestyle, and Meri knew this probably from the time she was a small child. Given that their are sixteen other kids to be accounted for, I don't see how Meri can justify Mariah's extra perks. The sister wives say this lifestyle teaches you to be less selfish. This is one of those times when Meri needs to suck it up and take one for the team if she's really serious about living the "modern polygamist" life.

Unless she moves to SLC and works for a while before starting school, she will likely have to pay out-of-state tuition since her family resides in Nevada. Out-of-state tuition at many state schools is comperable to tuition at private schools.

Another thing to think about. Meri is the only "wife" who is legally married to Cody, and she only has one child. Cody and Meri would be expected to contribute substantially more towards Mariah's college costs, based on federal guidelines and guidelines et by most schools, than the other women who are legally single mothers with 6, 6, and 4 kids. Of course, the private college full of poligamist families may have different financial aid guidelines.

It's very difficult to do that, because many schools will not consider you a state "resident" unless you've been there for a few years prior to applying to or going to the college.

In addition, even if she is 100% supporting herself, unless she gets emancipated, orphaned, is a member of the military, gets married, has children, or is pursuing an advanced degree, FAFSA will not consider her "on your own" until age 24, and she'd still have to include your parent's/parents' information on your application. It especially sucks if your parent/parents won't provide you the information or a copy of their tax return because they think it's nobody else's business.

Sorry for the double post, but I didn't want to mix up topics.

I have always disliked Kody but the last episode made me sick to my stomach. From his pontificating about how he overrules everyone, to the stupid blank look in his eyes during their group talking heads, to his gross strutting around and flipping his hair around like he's anything to look at. I just want to smack him.

And did anyone notice during the preview where the fortune teller told him there would be a fifth wife, he had this smug look on his stupid face that indicated his puerile delight at the thought of being allowed to get with yet another woman? It's nasty enough for him to "be with" a different woman every night, let's add another!!

I know, it's stupid to watch if I hate him so much. I just hate him So. Freaking. Much.

I think if Meri had had 8 children, to Christine and Janelle's 6, she would have been demanding a higher allowance because it's not fair for her to suffer because she has more kids.

The woman is just selfish.

When the other wives were asking Merri if she wanted to take a more active role in taking care of the other children, she kind of hemmed and hawed. I don't think she is very interested in the other children at all. She wants to live by herself, admire her wet bar, and still collect her 1/4 interest in the family's money.

On the other hand, I sympathize with her, having her daughter move away. I had to deal with my daughter going away to school, and it wasn't easy. Since she isn't responsible for any other children though, she can take a lot of road trips to visit her!

Word.

And I thought Janelle was leaning toward Mariah not going to Westminster b/c of the cost, but then she turned around and said she was on board. WTF?

I think Janelle is a sucker for the religious aspect. IMHO. her testimony is the only thing keeping her in that family

I think Meri really wants to be the only wife, and Mariah the only child. She does not seem to be as into polygamy as the other wives. Were it not for the religious aspect (i.e., the notion that she needs to be a sister-wife to get into the Celestial Kingdom), I don't think she'd stay in this situation.

You know what is sad? This show gets good ratings. The show both angers and bores me and I can take just 5-10 minutes before I can't take it anymore. Do ratings on these shows indicate if people watch the whole show or do they get credit if you only watch as I do, just a few minutes?

This past weekend there was a marathon of Polygamy USA on the National Geographic channel. For those who haven't seen it, it's about a Polygamy community in Centennial Park Arizona. They left the Colorado City community to form their own for various reasons. ANYWAY...they claim to be super secret but agreed to let some cameras in to show the world they are just following God's will...yada yada yada (same shit the Browns spew). A young couple on the show (first wife is in early 30s,second is early 20s) openly admit their jealousy issues. So do the Browns. And although I cannot speak for anyone but myself I will say this...I watch the 'reality shows' to see how lives very different from mine work. We all get the religious..aka..brainwashing at play. I just wish they would address the LARGE ELEPHANT in the room. Tell us how these guys go from house to house..or room to room EVERY NIGHT. And justify his sperm being (possibly) in 2 women in less than 24 hrs apart? I am NOT asking for porno material...but if these people want to show us how beautiful and natural their lifestyle is...show me something new instead of a bunch of women crying on a couch or someone scrubbing a pan while 12 kids under the age of 3 run, crawl, cry...whatever. I guess my message is hey T.V. networks...we get these places/people exist and that is how they work. Show us some new, behind the scenes shit or shut it down!!!

Also...while I'm here...can you please address (yah Im looking at you Sister Wives production intern that reads here)...how in the FUCK the Browns get 4 homes in that area of Vegas with no jobs except over priced shit looking jewelry (Oh hey Robyn...the only people that seem to BELIEVE in your LOVEly way of life seem to live in compounds in northern Arizona...perhaps attend one of their trade/craft shows...hahaha). TLC...lets get off the bullshit and on with the truth.

I can't believe he actually bought Jenelle that offensive tile, and I wish her mother had been more honest to him about how rude that statement on it was. I would be so pissed off if I had gotten that as a gift.

ETA: Hooray this comment makes me a sin in the camp!
