@nastyhobbitses Europop & Eurodance have ideal beats/per minute for exercise. I used to use it when I taught step aerobics. Some oldies, but goodies include Ace of Base, Haddaway, ATC, Roxette, Aqua, Fun Factory, La Bouche, and Technotronic.

Today....Adele's 25 and the soundtrack to Interstellar.  Both very comforting while I'm mourning Bowie.

I encountered the Interstellar soundtrack back in November during Nanwrimo when i was using Spotify and Pandora for writing music.  Really really liked it.

at this moment I have Shinedown's Bully on repeat 1.

Rihanna's new album, ANTI. I went through hell on my laptop to get a voucher for a (legal) free copy, luckily, it was worth it IMO. Then again, I've always liked Rihanna.

Massive Attack's just-release 4-song EP, Ritual Spirit, featuring Tricky (!) on "Take it There." Totally loving this. New album—and hopefully a tour—in the spring.

I used to listen to a lot of metal, then switched to country. While I'm still loving country, I've gone back to my metal. I've missed it. :(

Not pathetic @ all... I was a big Monkees fanatic during their revival in '86 (& I've seen them live twice; the second time was in '89 when Weird Al opened for them). I became sad when Davy died a few years ago.

Bumping because this song was my breakthrough to the deadening that happened to me emotionally after I was attacked.  I drove around for 2 hours with that song on repeat, singing, screaming, weeping.  When I watched the video a few days after, the sight of that foot in her high-heel shoe pulling back just broke me.  Such a powerful song and message.  I hope whatever had you listening on repeat is better and you are okay.

Me, too! I saw them in Tempe, AZ when they came through that year with Herman's Hermits and ....someone else. Another 60s band. My aunt took me and we had loads of fun. We saw them getting into their limo after the concert and a big group of us chased them as they drove way. Aside from us tweenagers, there were also a good number of middle-aged women in that flock. :pb_lol::pb_lol:

Another exciting moment of that night was seeing the then Governor of AZ (Bruce Babbitt) sitting down two or so rows in front of us to enjoy the show.

I will look him up, I love musical geniuses.  I can't stop listening to my Hamilton soundtrack, even now, so that's my listening to atm.

I'm having a hard time quitting this song lately. There's something about it that keeps ear-worming and it was like that even before I managed to snag it. I like the lyrics, the vocals and instrumentals and I absolutely love how the pace changes.

Totally.  Weird thing, once when I was at the hospital waiting for information about an appointment, Stressed Out came on the radio.  I really wasn't expecting it, as I hadn't realised they'd become that popular and widely known.  And then a few weeks later I was in the specialist's waiting room waiting for an important and delayed appointment (the appointment which as it turned out lead me directly to surgery only a few hours later, as I'd hoped) and I was watching the latest episode of the new Supergirl TV show and the background music to one of hte first scenes seemed eerily familiar... no it couldn't be... but yes, it was Stressed Out!  It was like it was perfectly timed for my situation. :D

But there's lots of other great tracks too.  I especially like Polarize and Doubt (the one I included above).  I keep thinking Polarize would be great to have at my funeral.  I really want to see how people react to that.  Wait...

Song tax: here's Polarize!

I hadn't heard "Polarize" before. What a great song. I really like their quasi-reggae sound/beats. They just have an all-around unique sound that I reallyreally like. I also like "Ride" (just heard it on my way home from work this evening).

"Polarize" is very relatable, too. Everyone hides their problems and wonders how they could be a better brother/son/sister/daughter/mother/friend/etc.
