One of my all time favorite Christmas movies just came on (The Grinch who stole Christmas) and I was just wondering what your favorite Christmas time movie is. I would say for me is The Grinch and A Christmas Story as my favorites. What's yours?

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I watch it every year and laugh out loud every year even though I know whats coming! Amuses me greatly!

Minority opinion here, but since we generally seem to watch The Sound of Music before Christmas, that's it.

Otherwise, in order:

The original Miracle on 34th Street, uncolorized. Second place is the colorized version, but NEVER the remake

Nightmare Before Christmas

The animated Grinch

A Christmas Story

It's a Wonderful Life

Muppet Christmas Carol

I love the original Grinch (NOT the Jim Carey version).

Other favorite Christmas movies are:

A Christmas Story

Love, Actually

Die Hard (yes, it's totally a Christmas movie)

A Charlie Brown Christmas

White Christmas

Miracle on 34th Street (original)

Love, Actually

Elf

The Santa Clause

Meet Me In St Louis (it's considered a Christmas movie)

It's a wonderful life

Love actually

Home alone.. I have tears in my eyes when ever I watch it, because I laugh so hard. And it reminds me of my childhood.

The Muppet Christmas Carol. Hard to believe it's now 20 years old! Man, where does the time go?

And when I'm getting a toothache from the overly sugary sweetness of the usual Christmas stuff, I throw on The Ref, with Dennis Leary.

I didn't realize we could include animation. In that case, for my #2 and #3 spots

2-How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Boris Karlof rocks as the narrator and singing You're A Mean Man, Mr. Grinch. Jim Carrey in the live version is just a pale immitation. :snooty:

3-Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Who isn't smiling when Rudolph starts jumping up and down shouting "She likes me! She likes me!" about Clarice?

White Christmas I love Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen,

"Chaps who do taps are doing choreography".

A Christmas Carol 1938 version and the sappy one with Bill Murray.

I'm fairly certain I could probably quote that entire movie, and do about half of the choreography. (Not Vera-Ellen's, obviously.)

I hate Love Actually with every fibre of my being.

::gasp::

I love "Love Actually"

Even my husband loves it, and he's a Brit.

Not much of a movie person—I guess I could always marathon all of the Harry Pottter Christmas scenes instead—but if animated stuff is allowable, then my votes go to:

Charlie Brown Christmas

Robbie the Reindeer

Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas

Yogi's First Christmas (childhood guilty pleasure)

I have some unusual ones in addition to what everyone else has said:

The Shop Around the Corner

Remember the Night

Holiday Inn

It Happened On Fifth Avenue

Desk Set

Christmas in Connecticut

Little Women

The fave Christmas movie of one of my sons in law is Gremlins.

I liked it until I was forced to watch it about fifty times. Cheesy, self-indulgent crap that makes me want to punch the screen!

Yeah...I have some issues with Love Actually.
