Just stumbled across a Reddit about Kevin, with a long post from one of Kevin's  (verified) former grad students with a subsequent comment from a student in another of his classes at BYU. POV from a former student of Kevin’s (verified)

Apparently, Kevin was a rising star (or already star) in his academic field of geospatial (earthquake) engineering.  He won multiple awards and grants. He was generous with funding for his grad students.

Several Redditors noted that NO ONE, especially a Mormon person, walks away from a tenured position at BYU to go into consulting/industry.

Then the comments veered into something that I hadn't considered.  Several posters wondered if Kevin had been "Jodi'd"?  As in, was Jodi H. behind Kevin being fired or otherwise forced to leave BYU?

This is especially likely if one recall's her history with a client earlier on in her career -- she contacted his college/university and claimed he had an issue with porn.  IIRC, this led to him being kicked out of school. This ethical breach of patient confidentiality led to her license to practice being suspended for a time.

Anyway, on Tuesday, Kevin testified to the Utah legislature

Salt Lake Tribune: Kevin Franke says his ex-wife and Jodi Hildebrandt manipulated Utah’s child welfare system, asks for stronger laws

<snip>

Kevin Franke, the ex-husband of parenting influencer Ruby Franke, urged state legislators on Tuesday to make changes to child welfare laws in Utah — saying there wasn’t “sufficient evidence” for caseworkers to intervene and protect his own children before they were found abused and malnourished last summer.

He said his ex-wife and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were able to skirt caseworkers with Utah’s Division of Child and Family Services because Hildebrandt had been a licensed therapist, and “knew the Utah child welfare system like the back of her hand.” That included, he said, knowing the loopholes and the system’s limitations.

“All they had to do were three things,” Kevin Franke said, “One: Keep the children isolated from the world. Two: Ignore all the phone calls from DCFS case workers. And three: Not answer the door when DCFS and, or, police officers knocked.”

“That’s it,” he added. “Those three things were all that were required for all of the train wreck that you’ve seen play out in the media over the past year.”

I think it’s absolutely credible that Jodi could have interfered with Kevin‘s career. According to Mormon Podcasts, both Adam Paul Steed and Brian Tibbits were branded as sexual deviants by Jodi. Adam was reported to the BYU honor code office by Jodi and had to leave. I wonder if there are others who were affected by Jodi who haven’t come forward yet.

I think it’s important Kevin is testifying but it’s also disingenuous in that he didn’t support Shari when SHE called DCF. He participated in questionable parenting decisions (a punishment camp for Chad, taking away his bed) and didn’t contact his children at alto check on their welfare. DCF is problematic but they are hindered left and right by people like him.

I hope Kevin takes accountability for his own actions and poor choices. Otherwise it will be almost impossible for him to have a relationship with his kids. They will constantly wonder, “why didn’t you do more to help us dad?” And if he’s in total denial he will never understand their pain surrounding his being out of the picture while they suffered.

Hard to say what's going to happen with Kevin. He's one of Jodi's many victims. I'd say he needs therapy, and maybe he's getting it, but wouldn't it be hard to trust the process of psychotherapy and a therapist after having your life destroyed by Jodi?  Also it would depend on if it's a Mormon therapist or a secular one.  There's a lot of grieving and rage, I'm sure, before he processes his own role.

There is now so much trauma in that shattered family, for the children who were tortured,  the siblings who have lost basically both of their parents in that they are in foster care...For Kevin, his marriage - and I think he deeply loved Ruby - is over and the kids are scattered.  His academic career is gone.  It's all ashes.

For those that criticize Kevin for not checking in, my understanding is that Ruby and Jodi had severed him from the family, totally ostracized. His focus, apparently, was on growing spiritually enough to be reunited with his family, while he was paying the bills.  Remember Jessi Hildebrandt, Jodi's niece, saying that people just don't realize how powerful and forceful Jodi is?  She split a man from his family and convinced him to do penance for a year trying to get back into HER good graces.  She convinced a woman that her children were possessed by demons and that they HAD to be tortured.

I always have to take a moment to contemplate the magnitude of Jodi's power over people (including Kevin) and the amount of damage she's done. She's a psychopathic destroyer who somehow managed to make people believe she was a healer. I also think she also has a profound hatred for men and was more than happy to destroy their lives.

I think if we hold Ruby accountable for her actions while under the influence of Ruby, we also have to hold Kevin accountable for his actions. I understand he was brainwashed but people who are brainwashed still have to be held accountable. Same for addicts who robbed a bank while high out of their mind.

From the article: „A year ago today, I had just gotten off a phone call with Jodi and was going to work a Lifeguard shift,” Chad wrote on top of a selfie.

But why was he talking to Jodi? Was he in contact with her the whole time?

Jodi was the reason he was sent to Anastazi camp. She had already met and was ‘mentoring’ Ruby. Poor Chad was also made to ‘see’ her. He paid out of his wages as a life guard. A really messed up situation his parents put him in. (I can’t link cos I’m a dinosaur), watch Brian Schnee. I’m sure it was mentioned in one of the very early conversations.

I was thinking today about prominent people who walked into prison, the door shut behind them and they disappeared into the prison void: Lori Vallow Daybell,  Chad Daybell, Elizabeth Holmes, Steve Bannon, Ruby Franke, evil Jodi.

Of course Bannon will be out in (maximum) the end of October, in time for the beginning of his fraud trial. His lawyers are working overtime to get him out early because...legal reasons, appeals appeals appeals, yada yada, but the main reason is,  prison is absolute  **** and he can't influence and grift from his followers.

Cross posting, this one is from hidden true Crimes and ties between Tim Ballard, Vallow & Daybell, and Ruby & Jodi.
