"No Souls In A-Holes"

Quote

After Donald Trump sent a herd of white nationalist terrorists to attack the United States Capitol and overturn the election he lost to Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell told the truth and blamed Donald Trump.

Exit polls from Super Tuesday found that a majority of Republicans believe Donald Trump would still be fit for the presidency even if he’s convicted. Republican voters really don’t care if they send a felon who engaged in an insurrection against the country he wants a second chance to lead. Now, it seems Mitch has joined them.

Mitch gave the impression of putting the nation before Trump. After the events of January 6, when Trump’s mob attacked the Capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of the election he lost to Joe Biden, Mitch said, “practically and morally responsible.” But it was a different time when Mitch said that because he probably thought he had gotten all he could out of Trump at that point and it was safe to let him go and pretend to be an upstanding dude with something that resembled a soul.

After Nikki Haley dropped out today after Trump’s victories on Super Tuesday, Mitch turned around and endorsed Trump.

After the attack, Mitch said, “It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States. It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support.”

Mitch is right. It comes as no surprise that he has no soul, morals, or ethics and will sell out the country for what he can gain politically. But Mitch is wrong that Trump has “earned” the support to be his party’s nominee because Donald Trump tried to steal an election and ordered an assault upon our nation. Just because a majority of stupid cultists want him to be their nominee doesn’t make it right.

Shortly after January 6, 2021, GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy publicly blamed Trump. When he found out the cult was still alive and he needed Trump’s support to become Speaker, he ran down to Mar-a-Lago, groveled, ate shit, and kissed Trump’s ass. How much do you want to bet we’ll soon see a photo taken at Mar-a-Lago of Mitch McConnell eating shit while Trump gives a thumbs up?

McConnell is now emulating his Senate colleague Ted Cruz in kissing Trump’s ass after he insulted his wife. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump said Cruz’s wife was ugly while also accusing his father of being a murderer. In 2022, Trump called McConnell’s wife, and his, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, Mitch’s “China-loving wife” and “Coco Chow.”

Mitch is OK with endorsing a guy who called him a “dumb son of a bitch,” a “stone-cold loser,” who made racist attacks againts his wife, and ordered an attack on his nation. Maybe Mitch thinks he can get more billionaire taxcuts and SCOTUS judges out of this.

Donald Trump is corrupt, racist, morally bankrupt, stupid, a national security threat, a traitor, and a soon-to-be felon. Mitch McConnell will overlook all that for political gains. He will support this man who’s made it very clear he wants to be a fascist dictator. Does Mitch even ask himself if the costs are worth it?

"SOTU 2024"

Quote

Republicans have been pushing a false narrative that President Biden’s mental skills have diminished. Trump calls him “Sleepy Joe.” They point out his gaffes as signs of mental deterioration forgetting that Joe Biden was committing these same types of gaffes when he was in his 30s. This narrative has been very successful with voters believing that Trump is more mentally equipped than our president. The only real threat to this narrative is Joe Biden. If voters watch and listen to him then they’ll know everything Republicans have been saying… are lies.

Democrats were holding their collective breath before the State of the Union this week and let out a sigh of relief as Joe Biden did what he does well. He kicked Republican ass.

Joe Biden knows facts, details, and policy, stuff Donald Trump doesn’t know. Republicans, disappointed that the president didn’t fit their narrative during the speech, have complained that he was angry, shouting, and political. I’m sorry, but have you seen your candidate?

Donald Trump is the angry guy running on a platform of revenge. What are his policies? For example, he says he’ll end the war in Ukraine on his first day in office, he just hasn’t explained how. The person who fits the narrative Republicans have been spreading about Biden is Donald Trump.

Republicans complained that the speech was political while one of their members was heckling him while wearing a MAGA hat. She undermined her fake concern for “Laken Riley” by also wearing a MAGA hat. She showed she only cared about it to make it political, but she’s too stupid to know that.

And I don’t see President Biden’s speech as much of a campaign speech as it was about the state of our union. Our union, our democracy, is under attack. During his speech, referring multiple times to “my predecessor,” President Biden was working to defend our nation, which he took an oath to protect. His predecessor attacked our nation, which he also swore to protect.

President Biden had to talk about his predecessor during his speech because his predecessor is a threat to this nation.

The majority of people who watched the State of the Union are supporters of President Biden, so most people see this performance. Republicans will lie about it. Hopefully, President Biden will carry this same energy into the presidential campaign over the next eight months. If he does, and voters pay attention, he will win.

President Biden is old, but he has more energy than Donald Trump. He has much better mental skills than Donald Trump. The alternative to President is the death of our nation. President Biden saved our nation in 2020 and now, we need him to do it again.

On Thursday night, President Biden kicked ass. Republicans weren’t ready for his fastball.

"Republican Misery"

Quote

Who’s in charge of the optics within the Grand Old Party? Whoever it is should be fired.

The party out of the White House provides a response to the president’s State of the Union address. Sometimes a good job is done and other times it’s a disaster. Who remembers Marco Rubio and the water bottle? Everybody.

Republicans thought they’d be clever and appealing to the nation if they picked a young woman to deliver the response which sounds good but they found a way to fuck that up. They literally had a woman deliver it from a kitchen in Alabama. They should have gone all the way with it and have had her barefoot and pregnant too or better yet, garbed in clothing from A Handmaid’s Tale.

Republicans chose Katie Britt, a freshman Senator from Alabama. Even before she gave her speech, the party issued talking points to its members to describe her as “America’s Mom.”

Republicans believe they’re appealing to women but looking at who they’ve chosen over the three years, Britt, Sarah Huckabee-Sanders (whose idea was that?), and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, they’re really only speaking to white evangelical women.

Britt delivered the response from her kitchen talking about Biden being “dithering” and “diminished” and gang rapes. At times, she whispered and at other times, she seemed on the verge of tears. I thought she was going to go Kavanaugh on us. She was creepy.

She talked about the Republican Party being in support of In Vitro Fertilization while representing a state that recently ruled frozen embryos are children. Did she issue an opinion on that? Of course not. Seriously, we gotta start asking every Republican if they believe frozen embryos are children. Britt didn’t mention it’s her party that overturned Roe and is currently making abortions more difficult to access in this country. Britt is representing a state that has banned abortions.

She talked about immigration too but didn’t mention that she opposes the border bill languishing in the House…that she helped negotiate. She didn’t mention she flipped on it because Donald Trump told her to.

Katie Britt was creepy. She was so creepy that Tommy Tuberville praised her performance stating, “She was picked as a housewife, not just a senator, somebody who sees it from a different perspective…I mean, she did what she was asked to do. I thought she did a good job. And it’s hard when you’ve never done anything like that.”

Britt was “picked as a housewife” and did what “she was asked to do,” all on National Women’s Day. No wonder Republicans are so viewed as out of touch with women.

It’s not that Katie Britt is so creepy, but that the entire Republican Party is creepy. Britt ended her response by telling mothers the Republican Party hears them. And they’re watching. Always watching.

Creepy.

Note: I think I’ve only seen Misery, the film based on a Stephen King novel, only once. It creeped me out that much. I’m surprised I can watch Kathy Bates in Waterboy after seeing her in Misery. She was very Katie Britt like in Misery.

As expected, Saturday Night Live’s cold open was a parody of Katie Britt.
