Since my family is a bit more spread out now that's the case with us that we can't have parties on the actual days.  My two older nieces have birthdays three days apart in so my sister-in-law schedules their birthdays around that and sometimes around Easter as well since Easter moves every year. 

I just mention that because if we have to do a bunch of coordination in my family I think for more public figures - even someone like Ghouliani - there's a bit more coordination around birthdays and the such.
