Joshley Madison Pt 3: Storming Satan's Hidden Fortress

Way to take the bullet for the rest of us - this is great.

The preacher is this level of specificity normal? I'd think they'd find it too racy for a mixed audience.

Directing husbands to become intoxicated by their wife's breasts...kinda pushy, no? Is this what happens to people who don't keep vodka in the house?

Although coincidentally my headship is super excited about breasts today - did a happy dance when I took out a package of boneless to make chicken parm tonight. Maybe those chicken breasts should be his new helpmeat. I'll see myself out.

I thought it was kind of crass to preach on Ashley Madison today, but looking at their website, this is Week #1 of a five week series on SEX TODAY.

Josh was just kind enough and lucky enough to provide a poster child to set up the series.

I wonder how much the pastor had to change the sermon after "Joshie's revelation."

Also, it looks like they've got a copy of last week's sermon available online, so I'm guessing eventually anyone else who wants to watch will be able to do so.

Joshley Madison 4: Enjoying Her Breasts

Alternatively, Joshley Madison 4: The Softness of Breasts

Also, votes for Enjoying Her Breasts as a new post-count title.

I can't believe only 2 days after the news of this scandal was released, Jessa is all over social media posting scripture on forgiveness. :? Honestly, nothing shocks me with these people anymore.

I feel like I need a shower after reading that church sermon summary. The bullshit quasi-statistics, the scare tactics, the creepy focus on sex, all of it is just so weird.

You're right it absolutely is - what was unusual was the going on and on and the explicit detail about the softness of breasts and attractiveness of breasts and how into breasts men are, and etc. etc.

The Song of Solomon talks about boobs too. But man o man, if any of my small town Methodist ministers had ever had such a sex-focused sermon, half of the congregation would of complained & said it was unfit for the ears of the youth (sniggering up the balcony!).

In other news, I noticed that Josh has finally been kicked out of Ecclesia College's Board of Regents: http://ecollege.edu/josh-duggar/

He was still on the Board last time I checked in July.

Saying that with a straight face while preaching about biblical marriage must take a special kind of special.

I know that in fundie land the idea is that if you believe in Cheesus ENOUGH that he will change your heart and guide you blah blah blah but the idea that no good deed is good enough for G-d is just bonkers.

I would like to see this article that reports that lesbian teens are more likely to get pregnant. I mean, compared to whom?? Gay teens, perhaps? Women over age 65? Giant pandas?

Joshley Madison Part 4: Motorboating for Jesus

Perhaps he first wrote it, put it up, and then thought "Wait, this sounds like I'm blaming Satan. Maybe this won't go over well." Then he blamed porn instead (as porn -> cheating logic might be something accepted in fundie circles), and then realized that 1) that it still didn't sound like taking responsibility for his actions, and 2) that whoops, he just admitted to viewing porn as well and dug his hole even deeper.

Whatever his thought process was, he clearly did not thoroughly think this through before posting.

There were probably even earlier versions that never made it as far as the blog.

Seriously, I can't believe he didn't blame the Lesbian Agenda for at least some of his current predicament. :D

Anna will almost certainly be partly, if not mostly, to blame. It was her responsibility to keep him fully contented sexually. Michelle's on record more than once saying women should submit to her husband whenever he wants sex, and it seems Smuggar was nothin' but a horn dog. Who could blame poor Josh if she turned him down every now and then when she was exhausted from taking care of small children all day or from being very pregnant?

This shouldn't surprise anyone who has followed these people and those like them for awhile. They are full believers in patriarchy - a system devised by men for men.

I suspect Jessa is very angry. I can see her twisting things in her mind to make it all Anna's fault that she doesn't have a show and no one cares whether she's having a girl, a boy, or baby kangaroo named Joey.

Instead of spending all this money trying to figure out how to get giant pandas to procreate, why don't we try to figure out how to turn Jim-bob and Jchelle INTO giant pandas?

Pandas don't preach.

(P.s. I vote motorboating for jesus as thread #4)

I would very much like to read the mechanics it. Because let's be honest : lesbian teens getting pregnant from lesbian sex, that is truly a miracle :naughty:

There's an episode of King of the Hill where Hank feels the minister's sermon on Song of Solomon is too racy for church! (I believe the episode is The Passion of the Dauterive) I think they are Methodists, too!

More on topic, hopefully Josh will continue to be removed from whatever family-values-touting organizations he's still a part of. Sadly, the only scandal fallout that these people seem to take seriously is that which involves the almighty dollar.

Have they actually said this or are you just afraid that they might?

According to the unnamed source in this article, they either already have said it or will say it at some point in the future (or something similar):

people.com/article/josh-duggar-cheating-scandal-anna-duggar-will-not-leave-source

"Maybe not publicly, ever, but privately, there will be some suggestion of whether or not she should have been more aware of the pressures Josh was under, of the issues he was facing, and how she could have better counseled him or helped him," says the source.

"She is fully and permanently committed to her marriage and her children. And she'll have the support of Jim Bob and Michelle and everyone else in their circle in terms of staying with him and making this work," continues the source. "Divorce is not even something that will be discussed."

Of course, with unnamed sources you never know...

But on the other hand, considering that there has been no official comment from the family to date (or has there?), I think this might even have come from JB and M themselves, as sort of an inofficial statement. ("We´ll continue fighting for Jebus in spite of everything! Take thisss , you ebil heathens!" :banana-ninja:)

I do think he'll write the tell-all, but I'm not sure about him leaving Anna.

The only way he can do the tell all and not leave Anna is for them to go fundie lite. But can Anna puke up enough of the Koolaid to go that route?

Joshy could probably survive quite well without all the restrictions (maybe even go to law school as he wanted - if he can get caught up on his education) But can Anna leave behind her parents and siblings who would probably shun her if she stepped away?

If they leave the fold I hope that other Duggars join them!

Someone needs to break out Anna and the kids, seriously. I can't help but think the Duggars will be giving Anna a hard time over Joshy Boy's

behaviour.

Even if they don't blame her I have a feeling that Jessa, Michelle etc will at least look at her and judge her something terribly. Maybe not blame her outright but still judge her for not being enough... Nah, never mind that's basically blaming anyway.

I can see them being verbally supportive but still blame her and giving her looks.

Poor Anna. :/

It reminds me of that commercial: "Thats not how this works. That's not how any of this works."

I just think they think the sluttiest of all sluts must be lesbian sluts because they're not doing their duty by getting pregnant for god. And if they're not getting pregnant for god, they must be getting pregnant for satan. Because, secretly every woman wants to be a good wife and mother, even the satanic lesbian sluts. Or something.

Could anyone with a fundie background tell me if they would/could go the route of so many fallen celebrities and send Josh to a real (non-Gothard sanctioned or construction type) rehab centre? I just don't see too many other ways Josh could employ to attempt to redeem himself in the eyes of the public, and, more importantly, Anna. Thoughts?

Technically, they can't SEND Josh anywhere as he is an adult. What he did with the AM account wasn't illegal. The only way to force him to go would be for Mama and Papa Duggar to disown him and say he's out of the family firm forever and always unless he does as Daddy tells him.

There are ways that Josh and Anna can salvage their marriage - with REAL qualified help. (Not some church member saying I know what to do!)

Won't be easy but it can be done.

As for being redeemed in the eyes of the public? Well, time to crawl back to the hills of Arkansas and try to become a normal family and then who cares?

If you think that mocking me and my family makes you superior, go at it.

My child was blessed with exceptional intelligence.

Likewise, whether you wish to acknowledge it or not, it is extremely disrespectful to call another person a liar when you do not know them nor the child about which they posted.

You can spin things for your own sneaky agenda. It does not matter to me what you or any of the other people here think of me or my son, or my husband. I know what we are and I benefit from my choices greatly.

My point, which you know was my point, is that Anna is not stuck where she is. The media is screaming that she's staying with Josh, and it seems that there is no voice saying " She has other choices. "

What has been posted here through three versions of " Josh is a cheating spouse" is " Poor Anna. I feel so sorry for Anna.".

The mindset of feeling sorry for Anna does not help Anna.

Likewise, you treating a fellow poster with obvious contempt is showing what type of person you are. It does nothing to diminish who I am. :)

How can she be too dumb to teach preschoolers, but smart enough to rebel against a lifetime of indoctrination? People are saying that she probably feels like there are no options. That's not the same thing as saying she has no options, but rather simply pointing out the likely result of 20+ years of being told her purpose is to bear children and worship her husband.

You attempting to scold anyone for treating other forum members with contempt is absolutely ridiculous given the things that you've posted in this thread. Do you even read what you submit and attempt to create some sort of cohesive thought that is consistent with your previous posts? Because you don't get to treat multiple forum members with disrespect and openly state that you're doing so, and still expect those same posters to treat you well. You also don't get to say that someone who is too dumb to teach preschoolers should be smart enough to seek out resources on her own and move herself and her children away from everyone and everything they've ever known. None of that is logical.

You don't make sense. All you're doing is coming off as vindictive, disrespectful, and definitely not "exceptionally smart."

Go ahead and "foe" me, by the way, and post whatever rambling response you feel makes sense. I'll even add the passive aggressive smiley for you. :)

EDIT: I admittedly was not 100% caught up with this thread, and now see that other users have pointed out the above quite succinctly. Sorry guys, I'll refrain from posting before caught up in the future.
