Yahoo news is not a good source but they had a troubling article about Rick Perry's goals.

1 Abolish lifetime tenure for federal judges by amending Article III, Section I of the Constitution.

2. Congress should have the power to override Supreme Court decisions with a two-thirds vote.

3. Scrap the federal income tax by repealing the Sixteenth Amendment.

4. End the direct election of senators by repealing the Seventeenth Amendment.

6. The federal Constitution should define marriage as between one man and one woman in all 50 states.

7. Abortion should be made illegal throughout the country.

So much for small government. Actually, Congress already has the right to "override" supreme court decisions, since Congress is the brang of gov that is supposed to legislate, not the Court. SCOTUS does not make law, as a body it interprets existing law and/or examines lower court decisions to determine if those decisions are constitutional. Sometimes it rules on whether a federal law itself is actually constitutional. Often, SCOTUS rules that either the law itself or a lower court interpretation of the law is too vague or over reaching, so if Congress does not like how SCOTUS has ruled on a particular piece of legislation, they have the constitutional power to re write the law to cirumvent or eliminate SCOTUS's objections. A recent example is the Lilly Leadbetter Act, which was enacted by Congress to make it easier for victims of gender discrimination in the workplace to collect back wages. It was a reaction to a Supreme Court decision that disallowed a waiver of the statute of limitations for people who didn't find out that they had received lower wages as a result of discrimination until after SofL had expired.
