Well. Look on the bright side. He isn't discriminating against gay people. He doesn't want heteros to enjoy it either! Bet his sex life is....boring.

Just out of curiousity, how does one go about prosecuting this? Given that I'm not about to go having any kind of sex on the courthouse steps, someone would have to be in my house, with a video camera to get proof of my illegal sex life, and I'm pretty sure that would be breaking and entering (also prosecutable), since I'm not about to give some conservative perv a private porn screening. (Wow - holy run on sentence! :) )

But yeah, great job wasting money on moronic laws, and sure, vote this guy into office, because you know that once sodomy is off the table, everything else will just fall right into place and the world will be a shiny, happy place.

This looks like it is really to stop gay people from having sex/ getting married. But since it includes everyone they think no one will notice. We thought the GOP had their crazy peak but seems a revival is happening.

A former prime minister of Canada, Trudeau, is famous for a remark he made in 1969: "there's no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation." in '69 Canada's criminal code was amended to legalize abortion, contraception and decriminalize homosexuality. Trudeau was no angel and Canada is no paradise, but I'm proud we got this one thing right. I mean, it's too bad these things ever were criminalized at all, so I guess I'm mainly relieved the sea-change happened before I even was born.

I can't wait to hear that the supreme court has struck this one down - as I'm sure they will. What a joke and a waste of time by this attorney.

Another bunch of rightwing idiots wasting time & showing their ignorance.

This reminds me of the wonderful film The Dildo Diaries, about efforts to outlaw dildos and anal intercourse in Texas. Here's a YouTube clip featuring some highlights, including the late Molly Ivins.

Be sure to watch the HILARIOUS floor discussion in the Texas leg between Rep Warrun Chisum ("a Bible-thumping dwarf from Pampas, TX") and Rep Debra Danberg which starts at about 4:35

ETA: clarification.

Well, in the case of Lawrence v. Texas which someone else linked to, the plaintiff's disgruntled ex-boyfriend called the cops to report a fake assault, which led to the police entering the house and catching the plaintiff and another man in the act. So, stuff like that, or your neighbors informing on you, basically. Awesome law, Virginia!

By the way, just for a little laugh at my expense, I first thought the headline for this one read: Vagina: No Oral Sex For You!

I must admit, my heart skipped a beat!

I see from the link that the case that's being prosecuted involves a man in his 40s having sex with a 16yo and a 17yo girl. I agree that that's creepy. But I don't know why they aren't trying to change the age of consent from 15, if that's the sort of thing they have a problem with.

They do realize that heterosexual couples have oral and anal sex too, right?

Does anyone else think all these recent hard core extremist laws being proposed in the south are just a way to provoke a federal showdown leading to an actual secession ?

No, but I do suspect gubernatorial wannabe Cuccinelli is trying to position my state to fight the fallout from the upcoming SCOTUS rulings on DOMA and Prop 8. And remember that Cuccinleli is running for governor and must keep the right wing vote if he's to defeat the Dems in northern Virginia and elsewhere.

It's pure politics. i do so hope that some reporter asked him if he's ever had or given a blow job. How could a real man say no????

The way it gets prosecuted is when someone wants a divorce, things get nasty, and one of the parties claims the other forced them into unnatural acts.

Virginia's population centers are perfectly reasonable! That's how we got Kaine and not, thank God, Allen. There are enough fiscal conservatives that people like McDonnell can sneak in, but as long as Northern VA and Montgomery County hold strong, we are mostly ok.

The only reason the gay marriage ban passed is because of (and nobody wants to accept this) religious black voters who turned out full force to simultaneously vote for Obama in the primaries and vote for the proposition against gay marriage. Places like Richmond that went 80% Obama/democrat also went strongly anti-gay marriage. The churches mobilized to get people to the polls.
