I wonder if McCarthy will re-file in a different jurisdiction. (And I wonder what would be the correct jurisdiction for online defamation where the two parties are in different states, and the company offering the service is in a different country.)

I guess he'd have to file in Maryland, since that's where Smugs was when he set up these accounts? 

But this is an internet issue. Does venue really matter? There has to be some relatively new case law regarding this topic.

Josh's actions do not qualify as pedophilia. Full stop. We don't know if there was sexual attraction involved in his crimes, and regardless, he was too young at the time to meet the criteria for pedophilia.

Look, Josh Duggar is probably one of my least favourite humans on earth, and for all I know he's even more terrible than he seems - but based on what we know, he can't be classified as a sex addict or a pedophile. It's just simply inaccurate to label him as either of those things.

Having known people who grew up in a paycholgically controlling atmosphere which used guilt as a heavy control and huge sexual repression as a whole, I know just how messed up in the mind it can make someone. The guilt that their culture creates just with the idea of masturbation is massive. The lack of education on the birds and the bees actually feeds the obsession with what the other sex looks like.

We all have played some version of I'll show you mine if you show me yours but in their society that is pure evil so is it any wonder that it creates an obsession? Pornography is considered being unfaithful, romance novels are the same category. Masturbating to a picture of a woman who is not your wife is considered infidelity. Its a strange sick world.

Having read the police reports and reading up on the laws of Arkansas, the issue of forcible fondling was the basis of the charge against Josh. No bodily harm was reported. I always wonder if it was a case of insatiable curiosity to see and touch what was forbidden just to see what the fuss was about(esp with gropey pa being  the role model) and then the guilt made him confess. But the act of doing the forbidden was part of the drive to repeat. 

I am sure this onnus was the reason they wanted him married plus the porn violation and masturbation. All of this coupled with guilt and sensarional thrill led him to obsess over porn more than a normal minded male would. Probably the best thing for Josh was being publically outed and the public humiliation has probably kicked him in the head as he is no longer the wonder boy of the family.

And I am sure he is on total lockdown in his home with Anna controlling the web access the way his Mom and Jana do at the childhood home. But he seems to follow the pattern of the people I know of being hypersexualized males of normal hetero tastes just driven by the demonization of normal sexual drives to believe any desires outside of marriage are disgusting and vile which creates a horrid fascination with sex. Couple this with almost total ignorance of the opposite sex and its a horrid brew of psycholigical muck to deal with

What you said is very true. I remember the private school I went to pulling one of my friends who was in 5th Grade (I think) at the time, into the hallway and asking her about her crush. My friend was very confused when the teacher asked, "do your parents know you like boys!?"

Wow, in that second picture Anna and Susanna could be twins.  Also, those names are really close together for siblings, especially siblings that aren't twins.   Does Susanna also have a daughter about Mack's age? The one up front in the big group picture?  I thought that was Mack at first -- they also look pretty similar.
