Most doctors have narrowed the delivery window, form 39 to 41 weeks, they won't schedule anything earlier than 39 weeks, unless medically necessary, and they rarely let moms go past 41 weeks, the longer the baby is in the bigger they get, and the placenta gets old and doesn't work as well. I can't imagine going 2 or 3 weeks over my due date, and  I never made it to my due date DS was born at 36 wks to do PROM (premature rupture of membranes) and DD was born 10 days early because I went into labor. DS was 8lbs (no my due date was not wrong)  & DD was 9 lbs 2 oz, I have BIG babies.

Hey that happened to my mom too back in the early 80s (minus the asshat doctor).  I was due July 4th and was born via c-section on July 25th.  My mom is a saint for going THAT overdue.
