I had to do my pre-testing and pre-admission today for my surgery on Friday. I went to meet with the anesthesiologist group and the nursing staff. After doing my H&P, EKG, Chest X-Ray, lab work, urinalysis and going over the instructions for my surgery and hospital stay, I was asked: "Ms. Mecca. Do you have any questions?" I said: "Yes, I do. Are you one of those highly skilled and highly paid anesthesiologist that believe in conspiracy theories and put them on YouTube?" 

So was he? DON'T leave us hanging!

Also, re: your later question, it's because some people are bound and determined to make Hillary unqualified to be president, and if we can't find fact, time to make shit up!

Unfortunately, he does not. I guess that means he is an awful doctor, right? I should have asked him for his last three years of tax returns as well. Because remember my friends, the anesthesiologist's personal wealth equals a wealth of information on my type of cancer.

Downvotes are a perfectly legitimate way to express disgust with someone whose idea of discussion amounts to parroting wackjob conspiracy theories.

I am not a degreed medical professional. I let my daughter be out in the sun without drinking enough fluids this summer. I still feel guilty about it.  She was acting strange when we got  home and I soon took her to the E.R. after being told to do so by her Pediatrician. The doctor mentioned starting with giving her a popsicle and she immediately perked up. After she finished it, she was much better. She still needed rest after getting what was most likely heat exhaustion, but she was perfectly capable of walking to the car. The only treatment she received were fluids and rest in air conditioning. I know there is a huge age difference between my daughter and Hillary, but I don't find it surprising that rest and fluids can help someone of any age feel better in a short amount of time.

I have never had pneumonia, but I have fainted more than once. I probably would have looked like Hillary if had people catching me and keeping me from falling to the ground. 

I don't understand why it is so surprising that someone suffering with pneumonia standing outside in warm weather wearing what she was would get overeheated and nearly faint. I could see myself doing getting overeheated wearing what she was without having pneumonia.

My intention was to hear what you guys thought about the rumors. I never legitimized the videos, I didn't even post them. I've said that I don't wish her ill or claim to diagnose her. My point about anesthesiologists is that they are very highly trained. So while they wouldn't be the ones diagnosing Parkinson's or the disease of the day, they do have a certain level of expertise.

Oh for fuck's sake. Chelsea lives in fucking NYC. There's no shortage of concierge doctors there, and it's possible that the campaign called one of them to meet them at Chelsea's. Or maybe like she said, she got out of the heat, drank some water, and possibly had a fever reducer. It's none of our fucking business exactly what is  being done for her medically. Honestly, the pneumonia is none of our fucking business. She was sick. She's getting better. Pneumonia does NOT disqualify from being president FFS.

Next you are going to start spouting the it could have been a body double stuff, right?

Seriously, if this was a penis having republican candidate, people would be all over Faux News waxing poetic about how brave and presidential he is for working through the sick.

Re: your intention. Bullshit. You didn't ask what people thought about those idiotic rumors. You've been presenting them as viable if not valid explanations for what happened. Clearly, YOU believe in them enough to try to push them here. Don't get upset then when some of us call you on the bullshit -- and, yes, downvotes are a way to do it in addition to comments.

Re: anesthesiologists. They may be highly trained MDs, like other specialists, but if you want to take one's pontification on pneumonia & its symptoms over, say, the opinion of an internist or specialist in infectious disease, be my guest.

You do realize there are doctors that actually do come to a patient's residence especially when they are high profile, right? NYC is swimming with physican concierges. That is a possibility. And again, what was Hillary supposed to do when the child approached her? Tell the kid to piss off? And then we would inundated with reports about how mean Hillary is and she flew off on her broom. 

I try my hardest to be decent on here, but please don't act like your hands are clean within this discussion. You have been rather passive aggressive. Having people disagree on this board is part of it. There are plenty of times when people have not agreed with me and gave me a down vote or two. Hell, I got down voted in this thread for simply pointing out discrimination of women within medicine. I did not run for the hills and whine about it. Down vote me all you want if you don't agree with me. You are well within your rights to do it. I won't hate you or scream about it. I got bigger shit to deal with.

I agree. My nine year old self fainted while singing Hymms in the choir due to getting a wee bit hot and locking those knees. I guess my days of holding any type of political office are over!! DANG IT!! 

Hillary flys a massive amount. Flying also dehydrates people. Couple that with pneumonia and heavy clothing that made her hot, yeah...she might just get weak and faint.

I fainted in the shower because it was too hot a few years ago, and I was perfectly healthy at the time. I guess I will never be president either. (All I remember is I felt weird while washing my hair, and I woke up 5 min later on the shower floor. I hand just soaked in the jaccuzi for a while and I was hot and it ended badly.)

Re: pneumonia & heat exhaustion. I've had both and one of the bad things about them is that they can come over you without a LOT of warning such that you recognize you're ill & need to do something about it. Hence motoring on, even at half-speed, until collapse.

With heat exhaustion, you just have to be very conscious about adequate hydration & rest when doing hard work in high heat & humidity. Doesn't hurt either to have everyone you're with on a job or whatever be familiar with the symptoms of heat exhaustion & collapse and watch for them in team mates.

Actually, Snopes is FAR more of a reliable source than Wikipedia, and this has been proven and tested many, many times. Wiki is open-source editing and vetting by people, and whomever can be a bully to force their usage of the Wiki rules around... Snopes is a 2 person team.

In regards to frequent allegations that Snopes has some sort of left-wing bias: The chief content provider is a Republican/Canadian who has pretty much zero political leanings in his findings and research. 

FactCheck did investigations into Snopes regarding George W Bush articles; Sarah Palin; Obama; etc and found ZERO bias.

The owner of Snopes is has published books on urban folklore and legends, established an urban folklore society in California, and is pretty much regarded as THE expert in the field.

So: No. Snopes is more reliable than Wikipedia. Wikipedia itself open states "we are not a reliable source".

I think that, like the email business and Ben Ghazi, concerns about Hillary's health are totally being blown out of proportion. 

Chelsea certainly had water, air conditioning, and a sofa. That may have been all Hillary needed. What difference does it make that she was not in a medical facility, as long as she felt better?

And the anesthesiologist? Really? How arrogant to discuss Hillary's health and you never met her and are not a pulmonologist. Shut up already, and go gas somebody.

I will take a sick Hillary over a healthy Trump any day of the week, if it came down to it.
