Joshley Madison Part 5 - Rehab and women and porn - oh my!

I've never tried wraps other than Jamberry. I have found that the different finishes on the wraps affect how they go on and stay on - at least on me! Their base coat has the wraps falling off my fingers in just a few days but for others I know it improves wear time to two weeks.

I have never tried wraps at all. I feel like it would be another thing to add to my 'sh*t I f^ck$d up' repertoire. I have been obsessed with nail polish this summer. I glance at the nail polish every time I go to the store now. I took the bottle I was going to buy out o my cart today. I don't need another mauve shade.

Thank you. I knew something about that comment didn't sit right with me, but I couldn't come up with what it was. Same here, I also have plenty of beliefs, despite not believing in a god. Sometimes it seems like to a Christian, belief in god is like 95% of their life; to me, the idea of god never comes up. It's like .01% of my life, atheism. I'm just glad that I am secure, I know I am a good person, I don't care what happens after death, and I am ok with the idea that when someone dies they just don't exist any more. I like things that are proven with science and seem possible to me. But at the same time, every other person is welcome to believe what they want, whether it seems nuts to me or not. I only get angry when those beliefs start to encroach on my life and the laws of my country.

I am an atheist, as well. And I've been told, on this thread, that that must mean I don't believe in anal rape.

I'm cool with that.

LOL this is one of those things like "I don't believe in the gay lifestyle" where it's like... there are gay people, that's a fact whether you believe it or not... I believe in anal rape like I believe the sun rises each morning. It happens. I don't SUPPORT it though :?

This was being talked about awhile back, but can we please talk about how Josh not only picked a J-name for his secret online alias, but picked a nickname for one of his brothers! Imagine being poor Joseph Duggar and realizing that your brother used YOUR first name in his search for extra-marital affairs/strippers. Of all of the male names in the world, he could not avoid the name of one of his NINE brothers.

It does seem pretty weird. Conditioning?

If he'd been fearless he would have gone with something like Dirk. Hey, that could be a good thread name: Dirk Dugglar, Rockford Nights.

If I may be so bold as to speak on how a person changes opinion so dramatically, and quickly--

I think what she means is that she has a belief system that is quite similar (or even the same) as the Duggars. She thought the Duggars were good role models and good spokespeople for their religious values. Now that all has been revealed she was required to re-evaluate what her beliefs are and reconcile what has happened with those beliefs.

When the three bombshells exploded and a lot of things revealed that the Duggars are not what she thought they were and especially not what they claimed to be. Super especially not Josh. And all the Duggars said things that show their values are different than what has been assumed.

The idealized vision of the Duggars values is no more. Very few people would look at them now and say "what fine, upstanding Christian people!" They are now as disgraced as any televangelist that has been caught with prostitutes. Actually, more so.

Plus there is the issue of how the Duggars have brought shame to Christianity in general. No, only a very few Christians share their beliefs, but they set themselves up as an example of the ideal Christian family with the purest of hearts and intentions. They became spokespeople for evangelical Christianity in America. When all was revealed, they made every Christian look bad.

I love your screen name! Definitely one of the best characters of the series.

Ok, done gushing. I realize you are not actually Grimalkin. ;)

I found that the wraps take practice but worth it for me. I get about 10-12 days out of them. Not the case of I've done a lot of sewing though. I seem to nick (knick?) them and hit them on the iron. Sigh.

I've been lurking for years and finally decided to create an account.

1. I really wish Daniel Keller would have went on his amazing Facebook rant the day the Josh scandel was announced. He had a few days to cool down before he posted anything, imagine what he would have said when he FIRST heard the news.

2. If I were Jb, michelle, Jill or jessa I would be sooooo pissed right now.  They really put their asses on the line defending Josh and I feel that played into the show being cancelled. It was like TLC was waiting to see how the interview played out before deciding anything and that interview was horrible. Not only that they genuinely seemed to believe josh was a changed man when he wasn't at all.  I can't imagine the betrayal they feel right now especially  when Josh towed the family line so well.

3.  I feel like Jill threw Anna under the bus with her link to that sermon about sex. It was basically blaming women for everything that can go wrong in a marriage. However I don't necessarily  feel like Jessa's forgiveness post is saying anything about Anna other than she should forgive Josh, and maybe that their family should as well. In the fox interview Jill and jessa both said forgiveness isn't the same as trust. Anna could very well forgive josh and still want a divorce. Jessa posting about forgiveness falls in line with Jesus' teachings and I for one have always felt holding onto anger when forgiveness is an option is just worse on me than anyone else. I could be in denial about jessa's intentions but for right now I'm going to assume she just meant forgive and not forget.

4.  If there is a Josh Duggar sex tape I hope it's called "Josh Duggar: Missionary ; )"

5.  Everyone keeps calling Josh a pig. As someone who owns a very sweet, loyal and loving  pig I can assure you that he and Josh are nothing alike. However my pig is neutered so Josh should take notes.

Hello....not to detract from the rest of your post, but I love piggies. I've always wanted one of those tiny ones. Oh, and I agree, Josh may want slow down on the baby-creating.

I like it.

Sung to any particular tune???

Just a kind of a plaintive whine/wail reminiscent of many songs of woe. Ho ho. No particular song.

Long shitty day and I just got home to settle into FJ and can I just say this post without context is quite the eye opener. :pink-shock:

I think if I keep reading in reverse chronological order I'm gonna have a bad time.

I imagine Kirk is busily scribbling notes for a film to be called "Unanimous" - a story of sin and redemption.

Ah... Kirk Cameron. Didn't an early episode of A bunch of Kids and Counting feature Josh, Anna and a couple of J'counabilty buddies go see "Fire Proof" in a movie theatre?

And HerNameIsBuffy, I did the text analysis in Python using the scikit-learn Naive Bayes package. I was working through the Udacity Intro to Machine Learning online course--I've done things in R before but wanted to try out Python for such purposes--in case you feel like giving it a try!

Damn, FJ getting her tech on! I don't know you, but I think I love you!

All right. I know you guys are persecuting me, that's fine. I'll leave.

It was out there, but I at least expected some people to maybe ask questions and realize it was a moment. I'll edit the post and leave. You all bash religion and faith right along with your quiverfull snark and it's all the same anyway to you.

Plenty of us here on FJ are people of great faith; but, being a Christian or being a Buddhist or being Spititual still requires a certain amount of empathy and compassion- even against those we can't stand. Putting belief in a religion aside for a minute, even our Atheist members display these attributes.

Yes, I understand you "had a minute" where you posted something you now regret- if in fact you regret the sentiment behind the post and not the reaction you've had to it. But just say, "I was wrong, I fucked up." I think you'll find that most people here are willing to accept a person taking accountability for themselves and then and move on.
