In no particular order, SSRI anti-depressents such as Prozac (brand name) can and do take up to six weeks to be effective. Here's the stinger. Everybody reacts differently. Which it is why it is more important to speak to your health care provider, rather than remember some comment you read on a forum and wondering why you still feel shit after 3 weeks. Some people have horrendous reactions to the newer SSRI's and none to the older. Generalisations are not helpful to mental illness, there are too many variables.

I may or may not have experience with this, it's the internet, no way to know, which is the way everybody should read it. Best thing is to not spread misinformation and the take-away from this comment would be you're an individual and your care should be individual from a suitably qualified professional. Not Dr Google or wiki.

If I am not mistaken, calimojo is a licensed medical professional. I am also a licensed medical professional and feel that her comment was 100% accurate.

JB is such a manulator of reality that I could see him blaming Josh for everything and instructing the others to shun him in some righteous biblical way...because Jesus. Doctor here. Prediabetes is definitely a thing. It's similar to pre-hypertension. Below the accepted threshold for disease, but at a higher risk of developing diabetes eventually. Usually when a patient is diagnosed as prediabetic, they are counseled to make lifestyle changes (diet, exercise, etc). But patients aren't always ready to make those changes, so they eventually develop diabetes. Some patients aren't able physically to make those changes, so they are put on medications to prevent development of diabetes and the many sequelae.

Pre-diabetic is not a medical term and "the accepted threshold" is the issue. It's been lowered before and it needs to (and I strongly suspect will) be lowered further as we now know that threshold is far too high relative to the damage that "acceptable levels" are known to cause.

The American Diabetes Association suggests an A1C of 7%. This is insanely high and probably as likely to cause serious complications as a level of 9%. Healthy people should be no higher than 5% and diabetics should strive to stay as far under 6% as possible. The ADA also recommends a diet of 60 grams of carbohydrates per meal. For most diabetics? Insane.

No disrespect to any GPs out there, but I wish every diabetic patient could see an endocrinologist as family doctors are not specialists and many tend to follow guidelines like this. Unfortunately this isn't possible, so "pre-diabetics" along with diabetics must take responsibility for their own health and get themselves educated.

I doubt that there will be any serious shunning while the Duggars are still in the public eye - and they are. Maybe now more than ever, a lot of people have been following the trainwreck who wouldn't typically watch the show (as soon as the news broke, a couple people I work with said 'I need to talk to you about the Duggars' because they knew I was interested in the family, and several of them have followed all the news that has come out since), and the leghumpers for sure are following them to give all that extra-special moral support that the family needs from complete strangers in this difficult time. :roll:

I don't think that posting will put Josh and Anna back in people's good graces, and while normally I'd think it would be stressful for them to see all the nasty comments left on every single thing they post, my guess is that they're already in the habit of not reading comments on their instagrams (at least not for very long). When you go back to look at older posts there are usually a flood of negative comments, which makes me think they don't go back to check the comments after they've lost interest/made a new post. It's not that much of a stretch for them to just not check the angry comments on their new posts at all (or, if they really need that internet gratification, they can wander over to the Duggar Family Page where someone else is filtering all the comments so they don't have to see anyone except for the ones praying and supporting their lovely righteous family).

And honestly, I don't see JB as a shunner. Josh apparently already bought a house in the area before the news broke, so they're probably not housing him and Anna, but they've been shown at the TTH in photos several times, and with other siblings. Mikey had his birthday at the house with their aunts and uncles (can I also say that Johanna looks just like Joy in that video? I mistook her for a minute). I think that JB does really love his kids and it would be really hard for him to cut any of them out of his life, even if it weren't for the media and public attention on the family. Plus, if he actually believes any part of his spiel that God cured Josh, then there's no reason to shun him. After all, it's the librul media devils that caused all these problems, right?

While I'm sure there's still a lot of tension and stress and general upset feelings in the Duggar house, especially from Josh and JB and the sisters who were molested, I doubt there's any outright acknowledgement of those feelings. Ma and Pa might be snappier and more secretive about conversations than usual, they might be tightening their belts a little money-wise (though the use of the airplanes do not suggest that, fuel costs money :? ), but I'd be super surprised if they were openly blaming any of their kids for what's happening, much less trying to cut them off from the family. Any interaction Josh has with his siblings, though, is likely not going to be publicized by the parents (although Jessa and Jill's accounts might have more interesting stuff on them, since they aren't completely controlled and Jessa especially seems to have very little awareness of what the rest of the world might consider inflammatory, ignorant or controversial.)

I don't know. I kind of believe that the other Duggars must be angry at Josh for making the gravy train end when they were at the height of their popularity. They have such a simplistic view of life, that I think that the only thing they could conclude is that they were being victimized by Josh's sins. Either that, or they had done something wrong and now god was punishing them for that. Plus, the IFB in general really pushes shunning and separation. Josh, Anna, and the M'kids are being supported by JB for the time being, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the family is really happy to be around him. Togetherness is forced at the TTH, so having everyone together for dinner or a child's birthday party is meaningless in my opinion. Even when the show was airing, Josh seemed separate from the other older kids, and not just because he was the only one married for so long. Everyone may have to smile and fake solidarity, but behind closed doors there must be a lot of drama, not unlike the Jackson family.

Ew. By proposing on her birthday, he's now made it their "engagement anniversary" for life, apparently. So, below is my analysis of each video. I don't always pick up on subtleties of body language like a lot of you posters do, but it seemed so blatant to me when watching these videos. I laughed at the "you spend time with us" theme that ran throughout the videos. They must be told that heathen fathers ignore and abandon their offspring. I think the majority of the kids are lying in their videos, and I think that they were coerced into doing them.

Jackson: Thanks for making every day special, especially birthdays (the one day I really see you). I have no idea what to say, so I'll just end this now.

James: His dad "actually" spends one on one time with him rather than push them aside like other heathen dads. His face looks like he doesn't want to do this. I'm impressed that James remembered all his lines. He doesn't break eye contact with the camera.

Hannie: Again, another reference to their dad spending time with them. Apparently, that is the only note-worthy thing that he does. Or, maybe they are trying to convince the public that Jimdud is a good dad? My children give more details on what their stepfather does for them, than what these children say about what their father does for them.

Jason: His video look like it's dripping with sarcasm. "Not trying to get your point across" (sarcasm for: you force your opinions on everyone). "Everybody makes mistakes, and there's a way to move on." Perhaps this is code for what happened with Josh? Maybe Josh got better treatment than the others when making a mistake? Is it guilt?

Jed: Thank you for making sure that we have a place to live, because other heathen families make their children live on the street. Jed emphasizes the "us" when referring to his father spending time with them - which I find funny, they must think that other dads don't spend time with their families. His face looked a little snarky too, but it could be teenage face.

Jessa: Jessa made me laugh. It looked so fake. I really do think that her and Ben are going to strike out on their own. It is evident that Jessa isn't really keen on her father. I think out of all of them, she's the most savy about the TLC gravy train and papa money train, and perhaps is trying to use it to maneuver her freedom.

Jill: I like how Jill only talks about her baby in her father's day video, but out of all of them, she seemed the most authentic. Although, at the end, when she said "we love you" she squinted her eyes like she was in pain.

"Regular" people make social media posts like this for birthdays and special events too. The father's day video was a bit much but most of the kids made one. I'm waiting for something from him that gives and indication that they are trying to get back into the D-list celebrity spotlight.
