How many Duggars posted adoring Father's Day videos LAST year for Jim Bob? Anyone? Something tells me not many. Or any. But this year, there was a plethora of them. Interesting.

It is interesting how the kids have been so quick to speak out and defend their parents and their parents decisions and behaviors. The kids are trying way too hard, IMO. I wonder what else went on in that home, particularly the level of discipline used.

Here's what I'm finding interesting. There are many posters here vehemently declaring that the Duggars need to go away (a sentiment with which, I think we all agree). Also, they should NOT be posting Father's Day videos and should NOT be posting pictures on Instagram. They should not be showing themselves in public in any way at all because NO ONE wants to see or hear from them.

However, as soon as a Duggar does post something, we here at FJ do quite the opposite of ignoring it. We analyze and scrutinize every detail, including, but not limited to, what they are really feeling based on their eyes (see: Anna). And we will probably start a new thread to boot.

There are somewhere in the vicinity of 30 active threads in the Duggar sub forum which have received comments as recently as Saturday. I think about 25 are being commented on today. Many diligent posters have never posted outside this forum, as far as I can tell.

My point is that If the general public is as obsessed as some FJ members seem to be, the Duggars won't be going anywhere.

I actually find nothing wrong with them posting pictures, etc. From a PR perspective, some of their choices might be very bad ideas, but from a...ethical/moral (I guess?) standpoint, I don't see the problem. Life goes on and they have every right to post pictures and badly thought out videos any time they want. I do object to media giving them a platform, though. TLC or People posting pictures and videos is a problem...Josh/Ana being stupid on youtube is fine.

There seems to be a total lack of media attention on the Duggars in the last week or so. That shows that the tabloids are not getting the hits they believe is worth their while. Not even In Touch is saying anything.

30 threads on this forum is nothing. If people were really interested in them there would be hundreds of threads, maybe thousands, with thousands of contributors and in more forums than this one. That is what it would take for TLC to run more episodes to take advantage of hate watching.

I think that those of us that are still talking about it are doing so for personal reasons---like being triggered---or because we come from this sort of background and its of use to discuss it for whatever reason.. Until something new pops up that is even worse than whatever has been revealed then it is just going to be a small group consuming the Duggar media.

The other thing is that sharing a video via YouTube is completely and totally unnecessary in this day and age. We know they have smartphones...it's as easy as snapping the video and sending it right along on your iPhone. YouTube adds an additional time-consuming step. I agree that the "leak" was not as innocent as it looks.

If they didn't want the video to be seen by as many people as possible, they could have made it private.

There are more videos out there of the other kids individually giving Father's Day wishes. I didn't see one from Jinger.

The Duggars apparently have guest quarters that have not been seen on the show. No one is sure exactly where they are and they are fairly new, but guests of the Duggars have posted photos of them staying there. There is speculation that Ben was actually living there rather than the mouse trap in the storage garage.

I think it has been shown on the show, in the episodes where the family watched back episodes and gave commentary. I don't have any episodes to watch to give the episode titles, but the biggest WTF for me from those episodes was Jackson reacting to his birth. Jill was pregnant I believe, but early still and not showing much/at all.

I remembered something else about it. Before the did that trainer workout challenge, when Joe was showing Josh and JB how to work out (JB in jeans) in one of the warehouse bays, there was black fabric all around but I paused and rewound trying to figure out what they were hiding- they had built 2x4 wall supports against one side. So I think they renovated 1.5 of their warehouse bays (where Bin's room was) to be a proper "guest house".

Also on the short films the boys made (Duggar studios, http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u-6H9tem05Q) they go through a warehouse door and the decor is the same in the commentary episodes. They also go up to Bin's room too, so it is in a different bay than the guest house.

Call me crazy but I'm getting over the Josh thing enough to forgive and forget. I just don't see him as a child molester now that his sisters insist that they have forgiven him and moved on. I do just see him as a man with a crazy upbringing who made some horrible mistakes. I'm glad to see this didn't ruin his marriage. I don't want to see him or his family on tv though and do wish they would just go away. Every time I think of the Duggars I think of how horrible JB is to raise children and not educate them or allow them to seek and education. It make my blood boil how he hinders his daughter's lives pushing them only into a limited life.

The media reporting their every move is just hilarious. A week or two ago it was pissing me off, but now it's just funny. Feedback is overwhelmingly negative and I feel like even People has realized an angry click brings as much ad revenue as a leghumping click does. If TLC had canceled the show weeks ago this wouldn't be happening. Watching Jim Bob and Michelle (and Josh) try to save their brand = schadenfreude, which is fun. Watching Jill and Jessa try to save their brand = fremdscham, which isn't any fun at all. (ok it's entertaining enough to talk about here, but I wouldn't call it fun)

I think what Josh did was horrible but I think his parent's collective response was far worse. Josh is a product of his parent's horrible parenting.

I'm not sure that his marriage will endure, much will depend on his ability to be accepted in his community and earn a sustainable living.

I also think that for Josh and Anna to survive, they will either have to walk away from Gothardism or go deeper into the cult. At the level they are today, I do not see their marriage surviving as the support isn't there and the kids will keep coming.

Josh is a failure- the girls have nothing but procreation to prove. JD, now there's a man who has potential. He is lining up his ducks.
