By giving the victims anonymity, the lack of exposure of the investigation, such as it was, would also have protected the perpetrator. How is that a good thing, again?

Are you a Josh Duggar apologist?

No, I am NOT a Josh Duggar apologist! But how is it in the victims' best interests to have their identities plus the details of their molestations made public over a decade after the fact? It would be different if one or all of them decided to come forward and tell their story to the media. But they did NOT ask for this. Not the molestation. Not the public exposure. None of it! Those girls are being violated all over again.

I agree - it's unfair that the girls are getting dragged through the fire again.

Jim Bob, Michelle, and Josh deserve every iota of criticism that is coming their way. I wish there was a way that we could have this level of exposure on them while keeping the victims completely out of it.

The plus side to it that I can see is this might save his daughters from suffering the same fate.

I don't see the situation the way you do. IF Jim Bob hadn't lied and covered up so much, his daughters wouldn't be exposed in the media now.

And, apparently not many people have read the report that the Admin. of FJ got and has posted. It takes reading the addresses and names of parents to realize that these were his sisters, not playmates of the family, etc.

Just google Josh Duggar police record. Some kind folks took the time to scan it. The internet is forever.

Right, but the state is willing to not only forget it ever happened, but to deny it happened now since they no longer have a record. This doesn't happen for other people.

The request came from a minor (aka the parents of the minor requesting on their behalf). It must be on behalf of Joy, because all the other victims are no longer minors.

Any chance she didn't really ask, and those sick fucks are using her as the excuse and claiming it's for her?

Looking at the bigger picture, this has exposed to the world just how fucked up and dangerous fundamentalism really is, that fundies are defending how this was handled and support Josh. What was done to them can't be undone, but they don't have to hide it anymore, and the world knowimg now might save other would-be-victims.

This all stinks like foul slime!

-JB being friends with a police officer who was involved with child pornography

- JB being at least aquainted (if not friends) with Gothard, a known (and convicted?) child molester

- Lawyers saying "don't mess with JB Duggar"

- The reports being destroyed (which is very unusual) => is JB friends with the judge?

- Josh, as a teenager, thinking it is ok to fondle little girls => has he seen something as a child? victim himself?

- Josh not being convicted despite being reported to the police (by Oprah)

- Josh getting a job in DC beyond his education and experience => who got him this job? JB? Other Arkansas politicians?

- The show not necessarely being cancelled (even though honey boo boo was) => JB has to much power, in Arkansas AND in D.C.

Is this like the boystown scandal?

What kind of circles is JB involved with that he seems untouchable?

I'd love to know more about this, if you don't mind!

I'd like to know too, if you are willing to share more.

FJismyheadship, you might want to just post the story here or link to the thread where it occurred. I can't imagine you PMing 20 different users, that might become a hassle. (I was not on FJ, but I've read the thread)

Yes please, I usually don't read Duggar's threads so I haven't a clue what you're talking about :)

I believe a victim's right to privacy trumps any greater picture.

If the victims wanted to take this secret to their grave, then that is was what should have happened.
