So, for 2 of the families, this was basically a big summer camping trip, and they went back to their regular lives.

And the third family moved 15 miles outside of Eugene Oregon (http://www.kansas.com/living/family/article3966156.html) The family that is still living "off the grid" moved from a 17 acre farm and were likely most prepared for the move. They used solar panels to charge their cell phones/computers and their oldest went back to KU at the end of the summer.
