A beer company used a picture of a extravagantly bearded dude on one of its cans (without informing him or compensating him). In response, his employer, Charleston Southern University, which is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, fired him from his job teaching sociology.

My best friend from back in highschool actually graduated from this little university. She said the students are outraged and causing a huge stink over it. He was a very popular professor.

I can understand why his students liked him so much. His reaction was, measured, graceful, and funny, especially considering he just lost his job in a crappy economy.
