A much less aggressive and much more p.c. form of that line of thinking is pretty common where I live. I live in an area that is largely a mix of Latino ( not all, but many recent immigrants, often undocumented ) and extremely far left Anglos.

The environmental damage anti-immigration rhetoric sneaks in pretty frequently. Primarily based on large families and, sometimes, on cartels ruining the mountains with weed farms. Or on the more shoddy agricultural practices that can happen if most of your workers can't complain about what's going on.

Eta: I don't agree with this line of thinking at all, just saying it's not something that's unheard of.
