The Stinking Lousewife has put up two postings. At this point, I'm more curious to see what Lori has to say. But that probably won't be until tomorrow.

Perhaps they'd like to live in Iran. No equality there! In fact, I'm sure FJ would be glad to chip in their one-way airfare.

Between this and the successful filibuster in Austin, there are some seriously frosted fundies out there today. Fuck 'em- I hope they stew in their own hatred.

This means that binational LGBT couples have the right to file immigration petitions, as well, from what I understand. That's a pretty big deal.

Here's part of what Tony Perkins said to CNN:

I wonder what planet he's living on! This is exactly what happened. People lived with marriage equality and realized that it's no bad thing, that it didn't affect their marriages and the public debate very quickly switched from opposition to support.

Go SCOTUS!

Wow. Smug's boss is truly swimming in da Nile. Massachusetts has had legal same sex marriage for 9 years; even the people who were vehemently opposed to it now just yawn about it.

I wonder if Josh's start date had anything to do with timing of the decisions coming down. Either way, he's probably getting a crash course on constitutional law this week. I don't think Michelle covered stuff like the issue of standing when he was at the dining room table.

This was the news I woke up to! I'm not ashamed to say I cried. After the gutting of the Voting Rights Act yesterday, I wasn't terribly optimistic. I'm so happy for my gay friends, and LGBTQ people everywhere. There's still a fight ahead, but this ruling gives me hope that we can come out victorious. :D :cracking-up: :gay-rainbowflag:

well he didn't have much to say

I don't think Tony Perkins is going to let Josh do the talking for him. Expect bland or personal tweets only from now on.

Think someone at Smuggar's new job gave him a social media crash course?

I'm sure he's internally exploding from wanting to preach and proselytize to the masses.

I have started befriending posters on facebook pages that I frequent. It became depressing reading facebook posts from right wing family members so now I have more sensible posts that pop up on my facebook news feed.

One of the comments from littlecatholicbubble is about moving to Canada and hating the thought that the USA might become like Canada, referring I suppose to same-sex marriage and abortion, which have been legal here for quite a while. My response is to ask why he/she is moving in the first place with those feelings and second, to say that I would prefer that he/she not move to my country because that attitude is not acceptable. Just stay where you are in your little cocoon of bigotry and delusion.

Got up a bit late this morning, as I was biting my nails over Texas last night. What great news to wake up to!

I am so happy to see these laws overturned. The world needs more love, and more cake, and more biodegradable confetti.

Part of living in an evil socialist country as I do is the fact that I feel quite confident none of these nuts will ever consider moving here  I do feel sorry not being able to shoulder some of the stupid. Well not really to be honest  But I know all the good folks like those here will outweigh the stupid.

You have the Atlantic Ocean between you and these nuts. We only have the "world's longest undefended border" as a dividing line between us. [seriously, all you American FJer's, I love you, but not the nut-cases who are going crazy today over the Supreme Court decisions.]

The problem is, with SOTDRT and all, the fundies don't know that the UK is an evil socialist country. Many of them talked about emigrating to the UK and various other parts of western Europe (including most of Scandanavia) when Obama was re-elected. They think these countries are as they were in Victorian times. Of course, they'd get quite a shock when they arrived (and it's not at all clear that any of them would qualify for immigrant visas anyway).

I'm not sure what to make of littlecatholicbubble's adoption blog. It'd be one thing if she was a social worker, actively trying to place the children featured on the blog, but she's not.

And the Prop 8 case has been ruled to have no standing, which means that California is getting gay marriage back.

What a fantastic day ! I am so glad, Prop 8 was a huge embarrassment in my awesome state.
