I tried to search and make sure this isn't a repeat but this article in the Daily Fail was actually really interesting. My heart breaks for these kids that venture out in the real world and discover that they are very poorly prepared for it.

I couldn't link to the first but thank you for the second link. I did homeschool, happily, and it worked OK for our family. But, I'm going to court tomorrow to try to help a girl who grew up much like many of the writers in the second link. We homeschoolers of the past weren't aware enough or brave enough to "out" the abusers in our midst.

You're doing a wonderful thing for that girl. If more of the Fundy children had someone to turn to as they come of age perhaps they wouldn't panic at how unprepared they are to survive in the real world and go running back to the system that failed them. The (Fundy) SOTDRT creates a situation that is damn near impossible to escape from.
