Excuse me, if Kristina is on Medicaid (which is not tied into your having contributed to it like Medicare) and popping out one baby every 12 months on purpose, she absolutely does have to defend it. Furthermore, in order to control people who do not care to participate in her lifestyle, she supports candidates that will take food out of her children's mouths, just to punish other people and their children. She isn't a hypothetical moocher, she is a moocher. She expects everyone else to kick in the tax dollars for programs like Medicaid to exist so she can keep having blessings till she dies. A single mother or father who works? Their kids can starve.

Woe to you, Pharisees, hypocrites!

Whoa to you, Pharisees, hypocrites!

this pisses me off, too. They think they can judge who "really" deserves it and who are lazy mooching bums, and that their tax dollars shouldn't have to go to supporting the lazy moochie ones. But where is her respect for the people who think that she is the lazy mooching bum who keeps popping out kids like the stereotypical crack-addict mother? She doesn't ask anyone else if they want their tax dollars going to support her lifestyle. But, oh yeah, GOD is behind her, so it must be okay to "steal" from others through taxes to support that. God's plan, I guess? :?

I thought that fundies all belong to churches that step up to take care of their own, and support members who are going through hard times, yadda yadda yadda. I've seen Jacinda from Growing Home lecture about that a few times- she doesn't need a "back up plan" because good Christian women NEVER have to support themselves because the church will do it if their husbands die or become disabled or whatnot. Why isn't Kristina relying on her church to fund her births and other needs? Could it be that when fundies say that the church supports struggling families, widowed mothers, etc, and as such there is no need for public welfare services they are full of shit? Hmmmmm....

On another thread someone mentioned that they saw on FB that he said they can't afford health insurance for Kristina and the kids. So they add another to the mix!!! Someone here also saw on her personal FB (before she made most of her posts private) that they were using WIC (this was before the twins). Again: SO THEY ADD ANOTHER KID TO THE MIX! WIC, can't afford health care, but keep having kids. Meanwhile single moms who use food stamps but work to support themselves are lazy moochers (in their opinion).

Isn't that the very definition of welfare queen? Someone who keeps having babies and getting more welfare?

Oh, I forgot, that's only if you're black. If you're white, it's raising godly arrows for Daddy/The Lord.

I've always got the feeling from people like Kristina that they believe these services SHOULD be available to them because they are 'True Christians'. I think they have a great deal of entitlement because, as God's Chosen or Anointed, they feel that they are entitled to and even deserve these privileges because they are their rewards for being Godly people. Following this same (lack of) logic, other people do NOT deserve them if they do not live this lifestyle, and yes, the rest of society should work to support them. It's old world aristocracy, religion style.

I'm explaining this incredibly poorly, but essentially, they use the same justifications that were once used to defend class divisions in Europe and serfdom in Russia, but they add in a bit more religion. It's not some new, noble idea. It is fleshed out enough to allow them to get around the dissonance, AND it even lets them play dress up if they are so inclined.

tl;dr They are the nobles, and we, the humble serfs of Free Jinger, aught to work to support their lifestyle. It's their God-given right!

As a tax-payer, I'd prefer to support the welfare queen. At least her kids go to public school and there's a chance at least a few of them will grow up to be productive, tax-paying members of society themselves.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that in a couple years Kristina will be "homeschooling" her kids (ie- teaching the eldest girls how to run the house as she, pregnant and bedbound, completely neglects any academic education because she's so overwhelmed and sick) and instilling in them them that the only way to avoid hell is to end up just like their parents- girls never having a job or paying any taxes and boys having huge broods on such a low income that they receive far more in tax-based assistance programs than they'll ever pay into the system.

Here is some simple math Kristina, even with SOTDRT you should be able to understand it.

1. 4 adults who could all take turns watching the children even if just the weekends = can't afford childcare to bring in a bit more money?

2. Josh' salary: 11hrx40hr= 1760 a month

70 miles x5 days in clunker of a car (poor mileage)= ~400 a month in gas.

~1360 BEFORE any other expenses to care for 5 people?!?!

He is making so little that he should be just working at a grocery store a few miles from home.

Oh but let me guess, hes working for some kind of ministry thing because he will not work in any environment where he has to report to a woman/someone with different beliefs/ deal with those with different backgrounds? .

So even in this situation, you are doing fine and your health is fine and you are going to make more babies who are going to get the same poor education and poor jobs and then make more babies. AWESOME!

As a single mother who works and thankfully does not need those extra services, thank you. I get so damn tired of people acting like single mothers are somehow the evillest evil of all... but of course they're not talking about me because *I* am different and why am I getting so angry with them?

Grrr.

I was just refreshing my memory about Kristina and reading her old blog. I'd quite forgotten that her father was a preacher, so that kind of explains (not to a rational person) why he's not working. Jeez these folks are one hot mess and don't get a scintilla of sympathy from me.

ETA correction: Her father was a cop and a minister. I think he is retired or disabled from LE.

It's not such a big leap. After all, their churces and ministries are don't have to pay tax. Fundies could easily interpret that as a sign from God that they're so special they shouldn't have to pay tax either. And given the bible is big on slavery, you could twist that around to mean that good Christians shouldn't ever have to work and the rest of the heathens should support them.

Of course, given their evangelising, it seems they want the entire world to turn Christian. What then?

Eta: forget about a fundie birth pool. What about a fundie mum dying in childbirth pool? Given how poor and likely malnourished many of them are and their tendency to rely on unqualified midwifery care, it's truly a Christian miracle that none of them have popped their clogs popping out a blessing.

Treemom, if you relpied on her public page and she responded back, you should have an email notification of exactly what she said... depending on your facebook settings. I would love to see what she said verbatim.

Yeah I don't get the emails :)

But mostly I liked what I wrote. She basically said they support assistance for everyone but the abusers who lie or too lazy to get work. My response was something along the lines of that is rich coming from someone who the right would think looks an awful lot like a welfar queen.

And I said a lot of what people are saying here...that she judges other for assistance because they are too lazy to get a job, but she is going to have 4 kids under 3. That people with her political and religious beliefs would hate her. And that the epitome of evil FJ where people have pitiful little lives are far more supportive of her getting assistance than her ill is.

I also pointed out that josh could get a second job delivering pizzas and make enough to cover her insurance. And that he seems to value her the way he would a brood mare.

And I told her I get to think she is foolish.

Well if welfare isn't for people who won't get a job, wouldn't that mean that she is one of the people who shouldn't be on welfare, since she refuses to even look for a job? Doesn't that mean that according to her own beliefs she is one of the people abusing the system? Her mom lives there, she could watch the kids while Kristina went to look for a part time job.

I support wanted fetuses to get all of the prenatal care they need. I want children (especially the ones born to dumb parents) to eat. I want them to be educated and I'm fine with my tax dollars (okay, my husbands, I don't currently work) going towards all of these things. What burns my ass is that the same people who scream "socialism!!!" and "get rid of welfare!!!!" are exactly the people who are benefitting from both.

Both of my BiL's (their wives) had their 4 children (each) on Medicaid and used TANIF and SNAP benefits... but that's fine because their white good people. You have to suspend a lot of rational thinking to be able to think these social programs are bad when you incesently harp on how evil it is. :?

I think that this one is out of line. While it is statitistically more likely that they were spaknked, some of these people had very good parents and just totally messed up minds.

You're right, and I apologise - I definitely don't want to feed into that "if a person does anything wrong, it's their parents' fault (and caused by nothing else)" thing. There is a definite pattern of childhood abuse in the histories of violent criminals, but then, Ivan Milat, Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer were probably never abused by their parents.

(But Kristina, you're still going to struggle to find any evidence that respectful, non-violent parenting actually produces antisocial or violent people. Check the studies.)

In all seriousness, since she is reading here, HONEY, when we *were* Quiverful and DH had an income that low, he had his butt in SCHOOL every night after work.

He did it all online from a state school (Bachelor's and Master's) AND built his career while doing it.

Especially if you are determined to stick with this QF stuff, he needs to get his butt into school. Georgia Perimeter College provides almost all of their Associate degrees in an online formatting. Georgia College has a full litany of Bachelor's programs online. It is my understanding that Mercer has a TERRIFIC non-trad department. For the sake of your children and your future, one of you needs to get that degree and earn a living wage.

Eh, doubt it will matter. My poor health is what led our exodus OUT of Fundieland and QF. I quit having babies because I knew it was going to kill me. God still sent TWO babies in spite of birth control after that point (last one came despite an IUD in place). I had 3 units of blood transfused after the last baby, after a medical induction a month early and 1.5 hours on the table trying to save my uterus from the hemmorahge after having to go to c-section. I did NOT take that as a warning that I was supposed to return to QF and I left fundieland when my decision to LIVE was treated as sin. There comes a time when you have to HONOR when your health is deteriorating and decide you want to be around to see your children grown. FWIW, my health crashed after the third pregnancy, God sent two more, yet I am the mother of NINE children. My large family was not contigent upon my ability to be a brood mare. Half of my children journeyed home by a different path, and I would have MISSED most of the blessing of my children if I had refused to listen to the voice that told me it was okay to choose LIFE.
