BBC is reporting that Maeve Binchy has died, after a "short illness".

I was pretty hit-and-miss with her novels -- but the ones I loved, I really, really loved.

Another one that was too young. Loved Light A Penny Candle.

One of my faves (both book and author). RIP, Maeve.

Oh, no. I liked so many of her books. What a loss.

Scarlet Feather was my favorite book by Maeve. Simon and Maud and Hooves were the best subplot. It's not considered the "best" of her books, but I like it the best.

I'm a fan of many of her books. SImon and Maude were definitely fun to read in several books. I also loved the Signora/Aiden arc in her later books.

Slightly OT but I hated the Hollywoodification of Circle of Friends. I thought the ending denied Benny her dignity and personal growth. The ending of the book, however, was wonderful.

So sad about this. I have read every single one of her books and short stories. She did leave a finished manuscript which will be published later this year in the UK, and probably next year in the US.
